Honda Civic Not the Car I'd Hoped!
Bought the Civic after family members had great experiences with older Civics & Accords. Thought I'd get a great car and save $$ on gas & ownership costs. After commuting with it daily for about a week, the odd angle of the gas pedal drove me nuts! Repositioning the seat has never helped. On long drives the seats get uncomfortable quickly. Also, living in MI, I've had to resort to driving my husband's truck if there's any sort of snow or even heavy rain! All 4 tires replaced at 25K (!)but made no difference! I'd never had an accident, but while driving in snow around a curve at 15mph I slid right off the road! Visibility is very poor due to side window columns!Hate to lose $ but trading it in!
civic 2006 ex 4door
There is some kind of weird vibration at low rpm. Only in drive mode. you can hear it when come to a stop light. Also when you rev between 0 and 1. the dealer said it's normal. What the hell is it.
Great Car
I purchased this car mostly because I love Hondas. After I bought it I realized there was a lot more to it, it's a safe vehicle, (this car has more safety features than any other car that I have looked at), great on gas mileage, and a sharp looking car. I wouldn't own anything other than my Honda.
Beyond sub compact
This is a great automobile. I believe it will be the new standard for small cars. it is such a pleasure to drive: responsive, tight, and the interior is just phenomenal.
I can't believe this is a Civic!
I had a '97 Civic before I bought the '06 and in a space of nearly 10 years, it's like driving two different types of cars. Honda has done an excellent job of evolving the Civic to a much smoother and enjoyable ride. This is the 1st Civic I've ever seen that has some style to it and you don't feel like a penny pincher owning it. I've received several compliments on the color (Galaxy Gray Metallic) and how comfortable it is for passengers in the back. I love my new Civic '06 and am ready for this one to last another 10 years.
The right car for the long run
I decided to do something about the high price of gas, I bought a 2006 civic based on reviews, gas mileage estimates, safety and just good old honda quality. So far it has been an excellent decision. Nice style and very fun to drive. I drive over 90 miles per day to work and back so the civic just made good economic sense. Though the civic is pricey, I feel it is money well spent for quality. Give me a honda any day.
Honda Civic
Replaced a 1998 Integra with a 2006 Honda Civic. Many improvements from the last time we were car shopping. The new Civic is fun to drive, cool instrument panel display! Very smooth transmission, quiet engine, power everything, excellent gas mileage. This car is very spacious inside, its well built and looks stylish inside and out.
Love our car
We drove to L.A.and back it was great. Ran well drove around 70 got 45 mpg and love every miniute of the drive. Honda did the job right.
The Best Car ever
I only have the car a short time and it was a lot more money than I wanted to spend but, what a great car. The driving is easy and the fuel economy is great. This is the tenth Honda product I have purchased over the years and I hope to drive it for the ten. Don't think twice about the other car companies, they can't come close to the Honda Quality and ride
Best yet
When you get in this car, it is like slipping on a favorite pair of shoes; very comfortable, and it is amazingly roomy inside. Everything is right at the finger tips and the design is very intuitive. We do mostly highway driving and are getting about 36 mpg with 10,000 miles now on the car. The engineering is incredible - the car is so quite inside and rides very, very smooth! Finally, it comes standard with side airbags and a great safety rating. I would and do highly recommend this car.
A Nice Safe Ride
Overall, a very nice little care. Not getting the gas mileage predicted (about 28 mpg in city driving). Purchased for daughter because I wanted the safety features but my wife and I drive a lot because it's fun to drive.
Transmission fails at 93k
I purchased this car new in the fall of 06 to enjoy more than double the fuel economy of my pickup truck. I was not disappointed as most tanks averaged in the upper 30s. I was considering a cobalt at the time but went with something that was predicted to hold its value better as I wanted to drive it until it died. It died at just over 90k miles with a bad transmission solenoid. (cost $3k to fix) I just couldn't believe a "reliable Honda" could require a rebuilt transmission with less than 100k miles. I've been driving the Cruze for almost a year now and the handling in snow is so much more secure than the Civic.
