I just bought my first new car, a Honda Civic LX Coupe (automatic) and I love it. I am 5'10'' and there is lots of leg room in both the front and back. The front seats are good size considering it's a small car. It drives very smooth and it is also very quiet. Takes bumps really well.

I purchased my 2nd Honda a month ago, and I am completley satisfied. Excellent build quality, refinement, A/C, CD player all for 14.5k. Steady 33 MPG in heavy city driving. ANYBODY who is on a budget (like me!) and can spend 14k or so on a new car, this is the only choice. With gas going to $2.00 a gallon, Honda has continued to refine an inexpensive yet stylish(for the price) car. Many of my co-workers want to know what kind of milage I get; I tell them 33-35mpg, they can't beleive it. Many of them spend more on gas a month than I do on my monthly payment.

I just wish that everyone could have at least one honda! The acceleration and handling are startling. The ride is smooth and quiet and my gas mileage has been ABOVE the epa estimates. I'm precisely and consistently getting 32-35 mpg in town and 38-41 mpg on the highway! my surfboards, golf clubs, and skis all fit nicely inside and the sound system is causing extensive hearing loss because it sounds so good at high volume. Run, don't walk, to your nearest honda dealer when it's time for a new or used car.

The most impression to me is the gas milage which runs average around 38.Before i decided to buy this car,my wife and I did some research about civic and corolla.By comparing corner to corner I chose the civic. It's more style and fun to drive. Not like corolla,i never felt bumpy.

I actually purchased my car in July of 2001. Not much of the interior or exterior has changed. I love my car. It has held together very well. You can not tell by any means that it is 3 years old. It has great fuel mileage, very reliable, and excellent in comfort. Everyone always wants to borrow my car.

OK, I'll admit, the sticker mpg of 47 highway is high - I usually get about 40mpg on the highway setting the cruise at 70. And the pick-up is a little slow (I used to have a 6 cyl, so it's an adjustment). In town (which is most of my driving anyway to work/school) I get 47/48 mpg, which is fantastic, and I still love how it "shuts off" at stoplights -all my friends just think this is the coolest. Sure, if money is the only reason you're buying, you'll probably never make up the cost unless gas reaches $5 a gallon, but if you want a reliable car that's easier on the environment and still nice on the pocketbook (a $30 fill up lasts me well over a month) this car is for you.

I've thoroughly enjoyed my Hybrid. Going from a minivan to a subcompact, I thought the transition would be difficult, but the trade off has been worth it. The paint seems to be extremely delicate, nicking if you even look at it! I am not getting the mileage I was led to believe I'd be getting; however, as I do a LOT of highway driving, I'm getting anywhere from 40-44 mpg, which compared to my minivan is excellent. I fill up twice a month whether I need to or not. Overall, I'm very glad I went Hybrid. Even if I'm not getting the mileage I think I should be getting (50+), I have on occasion hit 50 (rarely) but I still feel as if I'm doing something positive for the environment! Win-Win

I've always driven large trucks and SUVs, but recent gas prices got me to reconsider a more efficient car. The Honda Civic has great crash test ratings, great resale values, great "low true cost of ownership", great gas mileage, a huge trunk, comfortable ride. For a 4 cylinder compact, it gets me up & going on the freeway just fine, and friends fit great in the back seat. It's not going to pull a boat or anything, but I think its a vehicle I'm going to have for a long time. I really can't see the logic of spending more on a car unless you're just really trying to impress the neighbors with an emblem, b/c this is an awesome car for the price.

The car works just fine. I find one "funky" feature and that is the electric power steering. If the engine turns off at all stoplights then the power steering cannot be the normal hydraulic type. I think the electric steering assist is jumpy and not nearly as satisfying as the hydraulic kind. This is my only objection to the car. Otherwise it is a great car,

I'm a life-long Honda owner. I had stints with Plymouth, Subaru, and Jeep but always go back to Honda. This little car is the perfect example why. Although not as flashy (Mazda 3), Luxurious (Toyota Corolla), or fast (Dodge Neon) as other brands, this car offers a complete package and does it VERY well. No other model can touch the the design and ergonomics of Honda. Only Honda and Toyota offer top notch quality, safety, reliablity and resale value. If your priorities are reliability, fuel economy, quality construction, and roomy interior, this is the car for you! If you want a car that is fun to drive but drops in value like a concrete balloon go with almost any domestic sedan.

I purchased this vehicle due to ever rising fuel prices and I just don't like handing my hard earned money over to the middle east. So far I am extremely satisfied with the perfomance and fuel economy of this hybrid. It rides pretty good for a smaller vehicle and handles very nice. I don't know if I will come out ahead of the fiel costs due to having to replace the main battery in 8 years or so but having the peace of mind that my money will go into the vehicle battery instead of polluting the environment satisfies me. I also have peace of mind that I am in a very safe vehicle every time I get behind the wheel too. Overall I feel that this is one of the best new vehicles that I purchased.

Bought the Civic Hybrid for daily commute (150 mi/day). Very satisfied during first 6 weeks of ownership. Combined mileage (interstate and urban gridlock) is 48 mpg; highway mpg at 53. Very good low-end torque (I haven't stalled it yet); generally a quiet comfortable ride, but pretty noisey when spashing through pools of water. I highly recommend the Honda Civic Hybrid for long commutes.

I previously owned a V6 Accord but with fuel prices so high and my fuel economy so low it was time for a change. The switch to the (ULEV)Civic was the best move I could have made. It has all the features I expect along with great fuel economy (Sorry large truck and SUV folks 12 hwy/8 city is NOT good gas mileage) and is very quiet to drive both in town and on the highway. I'm saving about $15-20 per week on gas vs. the Accord so far and have never looked back. So if you need a great small sedan to zip around town or for those weekend getaways I would highly recommend this car.

First, let me say that I am very picky about cars and demand high quality on the purchases I make. I bought this 5 spd. Civic Hybrid about a month ago and so far it has lived up to my high expectations. I do mostly city driving and get between 50-56 MPG (make sure you inflate your tires to 35PSI to get the optimized gas mileage). The trip MPG on the dash actually under-estimates my miles per gallon by about 5 MPG. Compared to the Prius, the Civic exterior body design is more visually appealing. The quality of the seats /interior is good (the driver's seat is height- adjustable which is a plus). The manual transmission shifts extremely smoothly, much better than my prior Toyota Corolla.

Just got this black little baby, and i might br a little early for a review but if the hype is true about owning a Honda i think i joined the happy Honda club. The car is fun to drive even with auto. nicely detailed inside and out. You must get black if you get the EX with the wheels. illuminated dash is cool! Nice solid ride and handling interior has a quality feel with the controls. Engine is quiet except at acceleration. bit pricey compared to competition but i guess you're paying for Honda quality. wanted to wait for all new 06 but needed a new car asap. This car sips gas like a fine brandy. Forgot how to pump gas. Shifter is the easiest and best designed i ever came across for an auto !!!

Purchased new 05 Civic LX. Exterior is fine, looks good, drives good, the tranny is smooth, (a little slow) but smooth. Good braking, solid little car. Decent room for a small car, interior layout, nice, good seats. But, the interior pops like a bowl of Rice Krispies and it's very, VERY annoying. Test drove Corolla, did same thing on test drive and I didn't purchase because of the popping. (Civic didn't do this on test drive) Had 02 Camry did same thing. Looks like Japan is going the way of GM with the rattling interior. Why can't auto makers make vehicles that don't snap, crackle & pop when you drive? Honda gets a "D" for the interior build of this Civic. Thank goodness for a good stereo!

Whatever the Civic Si lacks in, the originality of the car and the distinctive styling makes up for it. People can make fun of it by calling it a mini-mini van, but in reality, they want it so bad. The interior is unique, with awesome seats manufactured by Recaro (for those of you who didn't know) and the steering wheel manufactured by Momo. Some people may think that $19K is too much for the car, but you have to realize that Honda didn't use any cheap parts or even cheap plastic to build this car. Love the car, love the styling, love the orginality.

Purchased two and a half year ago with only 5 other HCH in Portland, OR at the time. Like all Hondas this car is forgiving and well engineered with YTD mpg 46.1. Just received recall notice to reprogram IMA computer and keep the car from running "too lean". (Wonder how mileage will change? --thought lean is good in a Hybrid? :>) MT seems best suited to Pacific NW hills.

When I went shopping for my car, I was looking for fuel economy and a little bit of fun. I first went to a Toyota dealership to test dive a Prius. Well I at least got to look at one in a brochure. I tend to buy cars on the spot (its more fun that way) and I did not want to wait 30-90 days, but I went ahead and put myself on the list. The next day I went to a Honda dealer and they had 7 Civic hybrids on their lot. A 5 speed even, so I bought it. What a bad decision! It cost me less than the Prius, but its trade in value is $9,000 less than the $2,000 more for the Prius! Its cramped, slow, and completely dull to drive. Skip this car! only 10 miles per gallon better than an EX civic.

This is a fantastic car. Beautiful inside and outside: clean, simple, and effective. The control is nice and tight and the transmission, even for an automatic, is very smooth--both typical of Hondas. The EX model comes very well equipped with sunroof, 127 hp, alloy wheels, 6 speakers, CD player, ABS and a myriad of little things that make the entire car worthwhile. Gas mileage is great: 31 City, 37 Highway. I got the car perfectly content without any of the dealer installed options like foglights and interior trims. The foglights would be nice but the installation fees are absurdly high.

I purchased my Civic in July and then left on a 15000 mile cross country trip. As a four cylinder car, it doesn't shoot up the mountains but more than makes up for that in its handling ability. On the highway at crusing speeds of 75-89, it was wonderful and with cruise control on, the gas mileage was top notch (regularly 41 mpg). The interior of the car is spacious, given the compact size of the car and the features (radio, AC, etc.) are convenient and easy to reach.

Great to drive... isn't sporty, but the reliablity and fuel economy makes up for the weak acceleration. I love the front design... the car looks like it is smiling at me everytime I see it. I would recommend this car to anyone who do not like high maintains or costs to run it (20 dollars for a full tanks ~ 400 miles). The driving it very smooth, I like how the wheel is not too tight but tight enough to give the driver a feel for the road. The car is great for teenagers like me, who need to get places without the worry that the car will breakdown. I love the envy I get from people and since the cost is low, I think more people are able to afford this car. The side airbag is an added perk.....

Not much leg room in the back seat.Large trunk is great, just dont think you can buy all the same stuff you did if you had a larger vehicle, you will be sorry. This car is not for people with back problems..stick to the ones with the lumbar included. It is a compact car, great gas mileage and realiabilty, fun to drive for 1 person, but for comfort and room, NOPE!Keep a nice SUV for comfort and long trips!!

I purchased my Honda Civic Hybrid in March of 2004. Since then I have put 50000 km on this vehicle. I have not had one problem to report. I get about 800 km on a tank of gas , the tank holds about 50 liters. I would like to see better fuel economy for this type of vehicle. I do mostly City driving since I do Courier work. On a daily basis, I put about 300 km on this car a day. All in all no complaints, and I am very pleased with the quality of this vehicle. Keep up the good engineering work. Sincerely Ottmar Egger.

This is my 3rd Honda. I have had many makes in between. This car looks great, has enough guts to get it on the highway and city merging, and it gets great mileage. We recently bought a Kia van, fully loaded, thought we would save some money compared to other companies vans. So far 2 recalls and the worst service department you can imagine. Pay a little more, get better service, and alot better resale value in the end.

Hondas are a "family tradition". Over the last 20 years we have owned a dozen Hondas--Accords, Civics and Preludes, most purchased new. Why? Because Hondas are the most reliable vehicles with superior features, style, safety ratings and great mileage, too. My children grew up knowing the quality of the vehicles and chose to purchase their own after finishing school I currently own the 2005 EX 4-door Special Edition and this will quite likely be THE car for me. It is comfortable to drive, has a bit of a sporty look and a very superior sound system. As a "Baby Boomer" getting close to retirement, it is important to have a car that is reliable. And there is no choice better than a Honda.

The ride is a lot more quiet than comparable cars (i.e. Toyota Corolla and Pontiac Sunfire) The instruments are ergonomically positioned and easy to reach. The interior is visually pleasing. The trunk is more spacious than expected. It's the first time I've ever felt that I got my money's worth from a car purchase.

I purchased civic EX speical edition. this car is rare...so the dealers try to play with the price...by saying it is rare. But, only $200 MSRP difference gets you a leather stripped steering wheel, a rear spoiler, very nice alloy wheels, and an AWESOME looking 6 disc in dash MP3 player~~~~after driving smooth Camry V6 for years. I wanted to buy this car because of the look and the fuel economy. Overall, I'm very happy with this car.

I love only having to fill my tank once every week and a half to two weeks! It has more power to it than my last Honda!

I purchased my Honda Civic from Rick Case Honda in October 2004. As a former owner of a 1996 Saturn SL which was starting to show signs of needing more frequent repairs, my fellow coworkers recommended that I get a Honda Civic instead of a Saturn Ion because a Honda is a more reliable and dependable vehicle. I also checked Consumer Reports and they rated the Honda Civic as one of their top choices as a quality vehicle for about the same price of a Saturn Ion. I also did not particularly care for the interior design of the Ion's instrument panel. The Honda Civic is a very reliable and dependable car for the money and I am very satisfied with my final decision to purchase a Honda.

The Honda Civic Hybrid is Comfortable bu maintains a sporty feel. The fuel mpg was only 36.6 while breaking in but into a head wind for 330 miles the mpg was 46.6 and returning home for the same didtance with no wind either way the mpg jumped to 50.3. And here's the best part, the manual Hybrid was $20350 vs the prius @ 23400 for the same features. A no brainer cuzz the $3000 will pay for the gas for the life of the car. Am I happy I bought it? You BET. I got mine.

Again a great little car, good comfort, great economy, very dependable, a tad too low to ground for my pleasure because it gives the feeling of economy and not something to tell your luxury car owners about though I consider mine very luxurous. You might improve on the lines a little and maybe have a better color selection. Quietness of operation is a great plus also, how did you do that, make it so quiet?

I've owned my Honda Civic VP for 2 1/2 years and have to say it is great on gas, comfortable (I'm 275) and needs nothing...ever. I get around 450 miles before I fill up and it takes about 12.5 gallons each time, so gas is brilliant. The seats are wide enough for my back and shoulders when almost nothing this size seems to be. I think the car drives as good as the day I bought it and could easily do 200,000 miles. I bought it for $13,400 and it's worth #10,500 2 1/2 years later? Unbelievable resale value. I just wish I bought the four door not the two door, but the manual is zippy not like the automatic.

My 2nd Civic

I love the car. When Honda called doing a survey after I purchased it they asked what influenced me buying my car more than anything else. My answer was my last civic, it is a 1990 model with 331,000 miles on the original drive train and I still use it as my daily driver. The only complaint I have with the new car is that the driver side door pull should of been angled up more toward the window (as is the passenger side pull) as it interferes with side leg room by as much as 3 1/2 inches compared to the older civic and the lack of being able to spread your legs is quite noticeable. In my opinion if it's a Honda you can't go wrong, best car I have ever owned and the only one I considered buying.
