I bought this car in June of 2004. It was a 2002 Honda Certified Preowned Civic EX. I love this car. It is reliable and sturdy. The engine is a little loud, but what can you expect. I had a few problems when I got it- minor. The dealership paid for it and gave me a rental car. Things like the light burnt out, the battery died etc.. Just maintanace issues. Again, like I said it was paid for- and I was given a rental car for 100% FREE! If I had a chois to buy this car over again - I would say YES, with out hesitation. My previous car was a 93 Toyota Camry. I had to get use to the smaller size, however the quality and reliability I did not have to comprimise

Fernandez Honda is a new dealership in San Antonio, TX. They have a very professional establishment. I did a lot of research prior to buying the car and did very little negotiating. I set a price and stuck with it. The facility has free internet, popcorn, vending and movies availiable if you need any maintenance. A+ for the management.

I've only had the car for one month...Excellent car...great for short rides or long trips...depending where you live the rims on the EX are "very popular", but to me the EX is worth the extra amount

In a years time and lots of highway travel, we have enjoyed our experience. However, a few things that buyers should know. One is the brake pads. We had to replace them at the 20k mile mark and recently I over heard an Accord owner discussing with a service manager their replacement also at 20k miles. I've owned numerous makes and models. Ford brake pads lasted longer than this. And I drove that car harder and under more harsh conditions. The other complaint is road noise and handling. It's highway road noise shouldn't be over looked as well as its ability to handle like it should. Freeway ramps (clover-leaf style) you will have to slow down as others don't.

This is my 4th new Honda I purchased this car in 12-03 I have had excellant service from the car. I think it is a good little car the quality is well above average. The service intervals suggested by Honda are long. I have had no problems with fit and finish. I could suggest this ride for anyone needing a "GOOD SMALL CAR"

I bought this car as my 02 accord v6 came off lease. With the price of gas figured the civic would treat me better, and it has. My complaints (which seem to be redundant) come from the cheap bits and overall inexpensive feel of the car. After 7000 miles I also have "heel holes" in the driver's floor mat. The passenger window doesn't close (started after 4000 miles), the cloth armrest is beginning to form a hole where my elbow goes, and, after being hit in a parking lot, I am looking at replacing the rear bumper. Hey things happen, but at nearly $400 estimate for the rear bumper ... come on ... I thought this was an economy car! By the way, there is no power lock lever on the passenger side?!?!?

This car is roomy and comfortable, and drives and handles well. However, there are a few bad points. The dashboard materials creak and rattle when the temp. is below about 40 (indicating poor workmanship to me). There is a slight vibration in the steering wheel ataround 68-70MPH. The car has a slight hesitation until it warms up fully, inexcusable in a fuel-injected car. And the engine is not quiet during acceleration, including a low-level high-pitched whine (though idle is smooth). The dealer says these are all "characteristics of the car" and will not "fix" them. But reliability, fuel economy, overall comfort and driveability are typical Honda. More plusses than minuses here.

Drives like a gocart, good gas mileage, after tinting and adding Sirius Satellite Radio, replacing entire aftermarket system, plus extras.. (Oh yea the Factory speakers are actually plastic frames.) I now have added rims off of a 2003 EX Civic. Now the car actually almost looks about right.. The original factory hub cap rims had to go... Brakes have a problem when going down a slight incline once in a blue. Almost feels like it wants to lock up, had Honda Tech check out but naturally no show on the problem. Would like to put a better brake system, when these wear out. For the price paid on this car they should at least have disk all the way around on an LX. 16K on a civic is too much.

I got this car mainly b/c I like the local Honda dealer so much. I retrospect, I wish I'd gone with the higher fun factor that you get with the Mazda Protege5 or the new 3. I would also like the wagon utility that the Honda doesn't have. The Civic has good ergonomics and a quiet cabin. It is easy to work on and gets great gas mileage. The 04 facelift is also far more appealing than the earlier Civics. On the down side the car is painfully slow due in part to the gearing which seems more interested in fuel economy than performance. The seats are also a bit uncomfortable on the long haul. Overall, the Civic is a good car but the Mazdas are a lot more fun.

Buying vehicles can be tough. Honda has been one of the leading dealerships that have economical cars that are reliable and fun to drive. The 2004 Honda Civic LX is very fun to drive. At the same time, bland as a banana. Overall, one of the best in the small compact division.

The wife and I had our hearts set on a Toyota Corolla. We test drove one, sat down to negotiate the price, the salesman was playing their games so out of spite I told him we were going to go to Honda. We did, and test drove the Civic, out of spite, but fell in love with it. Better handling than Corolla, better stereo system, much more comfortable ride, less road noise, and better overall fit and finish. And best of all to the wife, it was better priced than a comparably equipped Corolla. After all it was Consumer Reports Car of the year in 2003 or 2004 I can't quite recall but you can look it up. Cheers.

I traded in my 1998 Chevy Cavalier for a gently used 2004 Civic. My husband is all about Hondas (he currently drives a 2000 Honda Accord) so it wasn't hard to convince him that the Civic would be a safe and reliable purchase. It is easy to handle and is great on gas. I drive the highway a lot and there is minimal road noise inside the passenger compartment.

I love this car, it really performs well, and I believe the engine has a lot of life in it. That is if the body holds up. I was in a slight fender bender at about 5 MPH and the entire back end cracked. Other than the body though, this car is amazing, and is a definite buy.

We've driven this Civic in all sorts of situations, city and country, and found it very reliable and very much what we were looking for. The fuel economy is good. Our single complaint is that the rear bumper is very easily damaged, and when damaged the whole bumper cover must be replaced. It would be nice if they would make it a little more crash resistant at low speeds.

The Best Car I Have Ever Had.....

I really like this car, I bought it because I never heard anything bad about hondas and the vehicle that I did have was in and out of the shop all the time, plus I wanted something really good on gas (which it is). I have had my car over a year and haven't had a single problem with it. The interior is kinda cheap looking but I have seen my worse. I like the way it looks on the outside. They have solved the look issues on the 2006 model. I like all the safety features that come standard as well like the ability to lock everything so no one can get in to the trunk, gas tank without key. And the best part is you can't lock your keys in the car!!!!

Mine is a Honda Civic EX - 5speed manual. I drive 85% highway and average 33mpg. Previous car was a V6 2000 GrandAM (automatic) and I am VERY impressed with the pick up & acceleration onto the highway with my Civic. I call it my 'poor man's BMW' but that's a compliment because it has the classic exterior styling of a BMW without the outrageous price tag. I've always been a GM buyer - especially Pontiac but after owning a Civic - I'm Honda forever!

I have owned a BMW before I can attest to the fact having a reliable car is more important than having an fancier car. This car is a very simple car thus everything works as advertised. I have owned this car for almost 3-yrs now and I haven't had a single mechanical problem. Also trade-in value of this car is about $11000 even though I only paid $14500 for it about 3-yrs ago. This is not a performance car but it is an everyday winner. You can easily own this car for 10-yr worry free with regular interval oil-change and stuff. Just remember Honda's specialty is engines and these things live forever. I just love Hondas.

I bought this to drive to and from work because of the dependability and resale. This is my first Honda and I bought it with just 23K. It replaced my Ford Escort. Gas mileage is about 1 or 2 MPG better than 2002 Escort. It sits better and has better acceleration than the Escort. Honda gets about 32-36 MPG to and from work which is about 8 miles in town, 34 miles on freeway. I do not just drive it in town. It gets twice as good of MPG as my Mountaineer!

I bought the car new, it had 24 miles on it. Now it has 75,000 miles. I have made changes to the car. All with the intent for better gas mileage. Stock I was getting 33 mpg on the interstate at 75 mph. After dual exhaust, K&N air intake, summer tires, and it's not manual (automatic trans.); I now get 51 mpg on the interstate at 75-79 mph. Seriously basically stock 1.7L with an automatic stock trans. and 89 octane pump gas, I get 50 mpg. The city drive takes a toll on the gas mileage, due to the trans., I still get anywhere from 38 to 43mpg in the city. It is definitely not a racer, but it is what I paid for. I would like to have a little more power, but saving the gas money is great.

I had a Civic LX with 290,000 and loved it. Then I thought, I like the stronger engine and moon roof on the EX. So, I got the 2004 EX. One thing, watch and care with the exterior. But, really as with any car, the exterior is what it is. It has been a durable, reliable car. It still has the "Honda engine purrrr" at 172,000 miles. I love it. Now, it's the most stolen small car in America, so I keep it locked!

Bought my 04 Honda Civic EX yesterday in Nighthawk Black and it is to die for. They had one with leather but I left it there and got cloth instead. First civic I had seen with leather. I love the way it looks in black and I love that the Alloy wheels are standard on the EX! Cute little car for the price but beware the option lady who will visit you and all the options look wonderful but the price's aren't. (6 disc in-dash changer)!

Decided to try a Honda sedan after racking up over 235,000 miles on my 1993 Toyota pickup. Based on past performance and reliability, this looked like the perfect runner. I was not disappointed as the 1.7 is peppy when combined with the 5-speed--and gets about 30 mpg around town. All controls are easy to reach. Dash lights are great since you can adjust independently with and without the headlights on. Stereo is of excellent quality. Fold down seats are a bonus when extra room is needed for cargo. Suspension is solid and surprising-- doesn't feel like a typical subcompact. Front seats are slightly cramped but not uncomfortable. Seats have good support for long drives.
