I got this civic by tradigin it in with my two door '02 civic. I like the new design of the vehicle, its not as lop sided as the '01 body style, and the inside is essentially the same. Its a car I can depend on having for the next decade of my life.

I wanted something Sporty and the Honda 2 door 5 speed was nice ,but I had to think about my kids having to crawl in and out of the back seat. I settled for the Honda DX, I get good gas mileage, the stereo CD player sounds great and the cab is big enough for my family of 5. The only con I can think of is that there is a bit of road noise when the radio is not turned on. Another plus is the high resale value, compared to the other cars in it's class. If you but from the Tim Smith store on highway 98 in Ft Walton Beach ask for Alex...he is a great salesman and will treat you right.

Compared to the 2001 Nissan Sentra we traded in, this car is FAR superior. Tightly built, handles well, engine feels spirited across all RPMs, and MUCH more quiet. Plus, the general 'feel' of the Honda controls; its far superior then the clunky feel of its Nissan counterpart. I'll never buy another Nissan again.

I thought that the Civic didn't have enough room for 6ft tall people, but boy was I surprised. It is roomy and the interior is beautiful. I love the lighted gauges. The LX comes with nice standard features. The engine is very good but is a little noisy.

I loved my Honda. The only design problems I had with my honda was you could not charge a cell phone and your XM radio at the same time with only one socket. Like most cars now I think Honda should step into the 21st century and at least have 2 sockets. Also, the cup holder got in the way when you were charging your cell phone or had your xm radio plugged in. So, the designers should think of people that drive. Also, I would not recommend a Civic for people over 5' 10". Not good on leg room!

Great car to drive around in. It is not a luxury car so there will obviously be plastic and road noise. Unlike other cars (ex. - Toyotas), it feels like you are driving a car on a road, not a friggin cloud designed for senior citizens. Mileage is great at 33 mixed, but a 5 speed auto would have been awesome. Reliability (in both hot of Mojave desert and cold of Midwest) is awesome with 80k miles with only fluids, brakes, and tires replaced at my convenience. Those of us past puberty will find the stereo good enough to pass drive time. VTEC gives good power as long as you are willing to go pedal to metal. Plan to keep to 150k

I've got 15k miles on this thing now and so far so good, not one glitch except for a slight rattle in the headliner at certain rpm's. Other than that it's performed flawlessly. I was a little skeptical about not changing the oil until ten thousand miles but it seems to be OK and hasn't burned any that I can tell.

My family has always been a loyal american made car buying one. However I noticed all the problems we had with buicks, cadillacs, chevy's etc. Engines powerful by awful electronics and fuel econ. My wife's family had 3 generations of accords putting on average 150,000 on each with only minor problems. So I decided to get a civic mainly for work commute and to avoid the rath of my wife. Have had it only for one month but so far like it alot. Can't beat the gas mileage, ride, stereo, and room for the price.

I purchased my first Honda in 1999, great car. Had the idea that a small SUV would be a better vehicle for me.Purchased a Ford Escape in 2003. I kept this auto 7 months returned to a Honda Civic with great pleasure even though I had to take a loss in original costs. I have saved in the long run with fuel mileage alone. I love my Honda Civic.

You get what you pay for rings true with the Civic! Sure you will pay $2K more for this car over comparable sedans. But you get a car that can easily go 200K miles without any major repairs just regular maitenence. You have a car that buyers will fight for when you are ready to sell it. High resale, no costly and timely repair bills. Much better quality. Plus those autos offering those huge 100K mile warranties. Guess what, the seldom honor them anyhow! Been there, done that too! I have owned Honda Civcs for 18 years, never had any major problems with any of them. My last one was 7 years old had 227,000 miles on it, and it sold for $2900.

I recently purchased this car, and the quality of the materials in the interior is great (radio/cd player could use some styling to go with the gauges). For a compact car there is plenty of room in the rear seat and trunk. Gets great mileage and is priced very reasonably when compared to the Corolla when evenly equipped. Thought about the Mazda3, but we all know Honda's hold their value much better than just about another other maker.

My other half bought one of these, and while I have owned other Hondas too, I find newer Hondas to be terribly boring and uninspiring than they were 10 or 15 yrs ago. The Civic LX/auto engine is rather buzzy and tends to downshift a lot. Of course the MPG is great. Handling and steering feel are what I HATE about this car. The steering is not precise, and the suspension feels floaty to me, with lots of body lean. Feels like a 20 yr old Buick Century. Unimpressive braking too. If you want an appliance with the soul of a refrigerator on wheels, buy this. If you want a little more personality and spirited driving fun, shop elsewhere.

An excellent car, except when the AUTO ENGINE stops (AUTO STOP), the car stalls momentarily, which causes a confusion. But if you are driving a long distance, the vehicle is very comfortable and environmentally sound. I love my Hybrid. I wish more dealers did advertise Hybrid cars on TV. Unfortunately, I rarely see their ads pertaining to Hybrid cars.

I am a soon-to-be college graduate that is serious about quality and style. I just traded in my 99 Nissan Altima for a 2004 Honda Civic LX sedan and I LOVE IT. I cannot stress what a good value this car is. The body style is very European and the inside will remind you of a pricer Volkswagen Jetta! I recommend this car to anyone that is serious about style and value!

Paid $100 under Edumunds invoice, and it was worth every cent. You can tell this car was made by people who take pride in their work--not some typical union shop like Dodge who doesn't give 2 hoots about quality. The driver's side arm rest is awkward, and the stereo is a bit hard to see, but awesome car, fun to drive. Car insurance was reasonable too. You will not be disappointed.

I bought this car in June of 2004. It was a 2002 Honda Certified Preowned Civic EX. I love this car. It is reliable and sturdy. The engine is a little loud, but what can you expect. I had a few problems when I got it- minor. The dealership paid for it and gave me a rental car. Things like the light burnt out, the battery died etc.. Just maintanace issues. Again, like I said it was paid for- and I was given a rental car for 100% FREE! If I had a chois to buy this car over again - I would say YES, with out hesitation. My previous car was a 93 Toyota Camry. I had to get use to the smaller size, however the quality and reliability I did not have to comprimise

This is a great great car, but a big adjustment from the 1995 Nissan Quest I had been driving. I just took it down to NC from MD and it performed very nicely. Only problem I have had is that I have been tabulating mileage and only got 26 mpg city at one point. I got 37 on a tank when i was driving completely on the highway the entire time. Not sure if honda is lying to me. Have to agree with a previous comment that this car does not have much power. My sister has a 94 accord and this drives just like it.

This is a very reliable car that gets very good gas mileage. I am getting 41 mpg on the highway and 34-36 mpg city. I have the 4 door sedan that has plenty of room for 4 people. Trunk capacity is very good. Bought the vehicle brand new and now I have 45,000 miles on it. I have never had to take it in for service for anything more than the normal oil change and the regular maint. Resale value is great! I am a very happy Honda owner.

I just bought an 04 Civic EX. I had owned other Hondas but for a period of time owned an 03 Mazda Protege then an 05 Hyundai Santa Fe. The Civic I have now runs & drives flawlessly and is solid when it comes to handling. I don't worry like I did with the other cars when I see gas go up. The moral of the story is if you've been a Honda owner especially for a while and are thinking of something else, stick with what you know. You just can't go wrong with these vehicles.

This honda is my first car, I'm a 20 year old college student. I couldnt decide between a civic or a corolla. I test drove both and decided that the honda was the better choice for me. I'm in love with it! It's beautiful inside and out. I have it in the new color for 2004 (magnesium metallic) and the interior cloth is gray. It rides nices, the sound system is decent, everything about it is perfect for me! We shopped around on the internet and used the TMV price to settle on 15,200. The dealer we bought from was great, but the dealer we test drove from tried to sell us an $800 package that was unecessary. Dont fall for an extra fees!

I've only had it 321 miles so far, but got 39.5 mpg on the first tank of gas. The car rides nicely and handles well. The build quality seems excellent. Working through Fleet/Internet Sales, I only paid $12,461 for the car and got 2.9% financing for 60 months. What a value!!! There were no hidden fees or dealer added on junk either.

I bought this car as my 02 accord v6 came off lease. With the price of gas figured the civic would treat me better, and it has. My complaints (which seem to be redundant) come from the cheap bits and overall inexpensive feel of the car. After 7000 miles I also have "heel holes" in the driver's floor mat. The passenger window doesn't close (started after 4000 miles), the cloth armrest is beginning to form a hole where my elbow goes, and, after being hit in a parking lot, I am looking at replacing the rear bumper. Hey things happen, but at nearly $400 estimate for the rear bumper ... come on ... I thought this was an economy car! By the way, there is no power lock lever on the passenger side?!?!?

Drives like a gocart, good gas mileage, after tinting and adding Sirius Satellite Radio, replacing entire aftermarket system, plus extras.. (Oh yea the Factory speakers are actually plastic frames.) I now have added rims off of a 2003 EX Civic. Now the car actually almost looks about right.. The original factory hub cap rims had to go... Brakes have a problem when going down a slight incline once in a blue. Almost feels like it wants to lock up, had Honda Tech check out but naturally no show on the problem. Would like to put a better brake system, when these wear out. For the price paid on this car they should at least have disk all the way around on an LX. 16K on a civic is too much.

I have owned 3 Hondas previous to this purchase. I see the build quality dropping. There are more rattles in this one then the others. With 17,000 miles on the vehicle I have not had any service issues. I commute 100 miles (minimum) daily with steep grades of 6% to 8% for 15 to 20 mile distances. My highway to city driving ratio is 80%/20% respectively. With these two factors, I am getting 40 to 44 MPG (consistently). My worst tank full was 37 MPG. However, I am using fuel saving measure when I commute. This car is more comfortable than I ever thought it would be. However, there is to much road noise. I recommend the Civic as a commuter.

Lots of rattling noise also found in my family 2003 Accord EX. Unusal vibration and noise (from disengaging the transmission locking mechanism) when changing from Park to Drive/Reverse suspecting weak emergency brake because the car rolls (only happens on a hill, dealers say it's normal - 2003 Accord doesn't have this problem). Occasionally unusual engine vibration when starting the engine in the morning. Found puddle of water on all 4 doors' side steps after car wash or rain (dealer says it's normal). Need to stay between 60-70mph to get 26-28 mpg. Does anyone has the transmission and rattling problem? Please write on your review.

I'm a bit biased since I've owned several Honda vehicles previously but ... so far, it's been a joy to drive. I've always loved the soft clutch on Honda cars, there's enough zip in the engine for most purposes, handling and ride are great, and it's hard to beat the mpg. It's more expensive than the competitors but it's worth it--just make sure you pit one dealership to another for best price. I think EX is worth the price especially if you can get it for around $16K (dealer invoice).

My Civic is actually my first car. I live by Consumer Reports, and I did so much research and in the end I decided to get either a Civic or a Corolla. After test driving both cars though, I knew that I had to get the Civic. It's so much fun to drive. I've been behind the wheel of several cars, and the Civic is just a pleasure. It handles curves wonderfully...so lovely. Also, besides being fun, it is a very good, reliable, safe car. Last, as far as appearences go, I think the Civic is a rather nice looking car-stylish.

This car is pretty fun to drive. The acceleration is decent, and the ride quality is smooth. I'm not getting as good of a gas milage as I wanted, but it's good enough(around 26 mpg). The exterior is candy for my eye, I love it. The interior looks clean and there is a lot of space in the front of the car. The rear is pretty tight but I've had 5 people in the car a few times and no one complained so I guess it's cozy back there. The build quality seems mediocre. The hood bends in and out a little bit if you press it.
