Nice Nice base Honda!!!
Hello, Well I stopped in and peaked at a 2004 honda civic dx sedan I saw on a local website, they had me test drive it suprised me a ton! then they gave me 2500 dollars for my 1996 grand am gt with 62k on it. so bam i got this little economical safe fuel efficient, car that i can customize lightly and cheaply!!!
why would you drive anything else?
Best car I have ever owned. Does everything I want it to. I sell ins and it is a joy to work out of. My car makes my job much easier.
Trip to Dullsville
My other half bought one of these, and while I have owned other Hondas too, I find newer Hondas to be terribly boring and uninspiring than they were 10 or 15 yrs ago. The Civic LX/auto engine is rather buzzy and tends to downshift a lot. Of course the MPG is great. Handling and steering feel are what I HATE about this car. The steering is not precise, and the suspension feels floaty to me, with lots of body lean. Feels like a 20 yr old Buick Century. Unimpressive braking too. If you want an appliance with the soul of a refrigerator on wheels, buy this. If you want a little more personality and spirited driving fun, shop elsewhere.
my civic
Great first car but also a good family car. Good gas mileage, with great reliability and resale value.
great car
I just got a 2004 honda civic it so cool and cute and great to drive. I have had other cars but honda by far the best!! Great work Honda
2004 Civic LX Sedan BEST CHOICE EVER
I am a soon-to-be college graduate that is serious about quality and style. I just traded in my 99 Nissan Altima for a 2004 Honda Civic LX sedan and I LOVE IT. I cannot stress what a good value this car is. The body style is very European and the inside will remind you of a pricer Volkswagen Jetta! I recommend this car to anyone that is serious about style and value!
i'm happy
This is a great great car, but a big adjustment from the 1995 Nissan Quest I had been driving. I just took it down to NC from MD and it performed very nicely. Only problem I have had is that I have been tabulating mileage and only got 26 mpg city at one point. I got 37 on a tank when i was driving completely on the highway the entire time. Not sure if honda is lying to me. Have to agree with a previous comment that this car does not have much power. My sister has a 94 accord and this drives just like it.
Best Compact On The Market!
Love this car! If you have the money don't think twice. Best compact on the market. Great car.
car for aging mom
i bought this car for my mom, who's in her 80's and is used to bigger chryslers. she's ecstatic about the car, its economy, safety and comfort. she loves the remote keyless entry and also being under 5' tall, loves the seat adjustment range. its virtually the only car in the price range that fits the small driver well. she can see out of it, and i'm so happy that she is safe behind the wheel
Civic
This car is fun to drive and in spite of it being a 4 cylinder car with low HP it feels like a higher powered car. It's swift and very responsive.
Enjoying the Hybrid
I really enjoy driving this car on both long and short trips. The gas mileage is about 47 miles per gallon and it has great pickup on the highway...I have no problem doing 20 mph or 75 mph when needed. It doesn't take long to get the pick-up needed to go from being stopped to going 75 either. I thought it might at first and found I was doing 80 to compensate...so it wasn't necessary to floor it at all. It's a great car and I wish more people knew about the hybrids. I think it's a crime that they do not advertise them the way they do the SUV's and other "gas guzzlers"! Sincerely, Elaine Fox
The Anti-SUV
Our second Civic, our other is a '95 (bought new) with 130K miles and is still going strong with no problems. If our old Civic is any indication we are going to have this car a long time. I am pleased though with how much they have improved the cars over the last 10 years. The engine is super-quiet and spunky enough, the 5 speed is like slicing through butter, handling is good and the ride is comfortable without being boring. Civics are automotive engineering realized to the highest level.
Our First Honda
This car is a great car. I have always bought american, and was hesitant on going forign. I am very pleased with this car. I would recommend it to anoyne. I drive about 125 miles per day, and I am certain that this car will perform great, well over 150k miles.
cool
Hondas run forever! The gas is great and you pay less for more!!
A perfect 10
I am 100% satified with this car and Fernadez Honda gave me a great deal on it.
Best Car in Its Class
I just got a Magnesium Metallic 2004 Civic LX Automatic Sedan. Few things that made me buy this car: - Awesome refinement of the exterior and interior of the car. Sporty bumpers! I won't put some new skirts for a while. Blue speedometer and nice dash! Cool at night. - Built-in features: cruise control, power windows, side mirror, locks, keyless entry, cd player, window antenna - Known good resale value and reliability of Honda Cars - Most of all, got it a grand below invoice price and DC included!! alright! Do your homework! Haggle with the Internet Managers in your area. Goodluck!
Perfect Car
Great Car, I bought a honda after hearing such good reviews from all honda owners, this was the best car I could hae put my money into, Everything is just where it should be without anything extra to get in the way. I am for sure a Honda customer from now on.
Great Value
Car packages your body in a comfortable and safe position. Very good visibility from all angles of the driver position. Excellent fuel economy. Quiet ride except on roughest roads. Climate control is at your fingertips. Radio/CD player provides good quality sound
Dependable car
I got this civic by tradigin it in with my two door '02 civic. I like the new design of the vehicle, its not as lop sided as the '01 body style, and the inside is essentially the same. Its a car I can depend on having for the next decade of my life.
Buy one
This car is Great, It fits anyones needs and is a true turn key car! Great on gas with lots of room I'm 6' tall and a big guy I fit in the car very nice and still have lots more room. Oh one other thing it has lots of get up and go power for a small car.
38 miles per gallon highway
I wanted something Sporty and the Honda 2 door 5 speed was nice ,but I had to think about my kids having to crawl in and out of the back seat. I settled for the Honda DX, I get good gas mileage, the stereo CD player sounds great and the cab is big enough for my family of 5. The only con I can think of is that there is a bit of road noise when the radio is not turned on. Another plus is the high resale value, compared to the other cars in it's class. If you but from the Tim Smith store on highway 98 in Ft Walton Beach ask for Alex...he is a great salesman and will treat you right.
Nice little car
Compared to the 2001 Nissan Sentra we traded in, this car is FAR superior. Tightly built, handles well, engine feels spirited across all RPMs, and MUCH more quiet. Plus, the general 'feel' of the Honda controls; its far superior then the clunky feel of its Nissan counterpart. I'll never buy another Nissan again.
Comment of Canadian Acure EL equivalent
In Canada, Honda markets a very high ned Civic called the Acura EL. This is like the EX model sold in the U.S.A. with 4-wheel disk breaks and side air bags. It is a good car, trouble free, fun to drive and economical. The only downside is soem dumbing down in amenities. My last car, an '86 Accord, had subjectively higher build quality touches like dooe bottom-mounted door- opening lights, better fitted carpeting in the trunck, object-holding compartments on the dash and more real fabric on the doors.
Pitbull of Compacts
I got my first Honda and drove home from the dealership in 4 inches of snow...Michigan weather. It was a test that showed me how the car handles. Great manuverability in changing lanes on slippery, wet roads, the ABS kicked in. Good stopping at lights and great acceleration and traction on turns. All the while my kids slept comfortably in the back seat. Performed admirably...I give it an A-1 and I've driven a lot of cars over the years.
Value
Great value for the money. Bought this car for my college bound daughter and I enjoy driving it more than her. Fun to drive, great handleing, great gas mileage. Test drove a Chevy Cavalier and was not impressed even with $5500 off price. Being 6'4" the honda has room to spare not so with the cavalier.
Great Car
I love my Honda Civic. I have always been a fan of Hondas and with the Civic it can be both affordable and very classy. It handles very well and is such a nice looking vehicle.
10
this is the best ever
Greatest little car ever
I love this vehicle. It wasn't hard for me to decide on this model. I needed an economic car, but with 4 doors (for the kids). It handels really well, and is great on gas. Oh, I love the way it looks also.
Don't love the car
I have owned this car for 17 months. During that time, I have had to have a windshield seal reglued, the fuel sensor replaced, the cruise control unit replaced, the sunroof control unit replaced, and most recently, the gauges replaced. The gauges were replaced this week and the odometer now reads 100+ miles. Honda told me yesterday that they cannot reset it to the actual mileage--very annoying. I guess I'm supposed to live with this even though the car is under warranty. I'm not happy, and I still don't know yet if my low-fuel light problem has been fixed so that I actually can know when I need gas without tracking my mileage with the tripometer.
Nice
Very nice car, inside and out has a lot of feautures that really make it a great buy.
Lita's new civic
I own a 2003 Honda Civic DX, and I love it. It handles great and is so fun to drive. It has a great new design on the outside and the inside is comfortable. It is nice and quiet and is a pleasure to drive.
Single Cam is Weak get a Dual Si Model
This car is awsome, only one thing sucks. The performaance is horrible. Everything else is perfect. Good price ,good mileage, no more worries of it breaking down. I just wish they made a 4 door Si model like in Japan.
BEST BUY I'VE MADE IN YEARS
WHAT MORE CAN I SAY, IT'S COMFORTABLE, GOOD LOOKING, POWERFUL & I'M GETTING A MINIMUM OF 40 MPG.
Honda civic more expensive, but saves
You get what you pay for rings true with the Civic! Sure you will pay $2K more for this car over comparable sedans. But you get a car that can easily go 200K miles without any major repairs just regular maitenence. You have a car that buyers will fight for when you are ready to sell it. High resale, no costly and timely repair bills. Much better quality. Plus those autos offering those huge 100K mile warranties. Guess what, the seldom honor them anyhow! Been there, done that too! I have owned Honda Civcs for 18 years, never had any major problems with any of them. My last one was 7 years old had 227,000 miles on it, and it sold for $2900.
Worth Buying
I recently purchased this car, and the quality of the materials in the interior is great (radio/cd player could use some styling to go with the gauges). For a compact car there is plenty of room in the rear seat and trunk. Gets great mileage and is priced very reasonably when compared to the Corolla when evenly equipped. Thought about the Mazda3, but we all know Honda's hold their value much better than just about another other maker.
Very happy owner
I have owned this car for about 15 months. The only problems I have had are that my daughter gets it dirty, my wife keeps torquing her foot and taking off the rubber brake pedal pad, and my battery for remote entry wore out. It runs like a dream, the shifting is smooth and easy, and it has a well-built feeling. The doors shut well, all the movable parts have a smooth firm action. This was the very first brand new car I ever purchased and other than my sales rep not knowing any more about the car then I did, the whole experience was a pleasure.
You Should Get One, Too.
An excellent car, except when the AUTO ENGINE stops (AUTO STOP), the car stalls momentarily, which causes a confusion. But if you are driving a long distance, the vehicle is very comfortable and environmentally sound. I love my Hybrid. I wish more dealers did advertise Hybrid cars on TV. Unfortunately, I rarely see their ads pertaining to Hybrid cars.
Great car
Super little car that performs like a much higer priced car. You can just feel the quality of this car.
my honda civic
The Honda Civic LX is a peppy car. Can get up to speed quickly for highway driving. The car is easy to park and has very good visablity.
Honda Has Made a Real Winner
It may not be the coolest car or the best looking, but the 2004 Civic is still a winner. We have consistantly gotten between 35 and 45 miles per gallon (that is a mix between city/highway driving too) The interior fit and finish is great and the manufacturer has made good use of space. The ride is exceptionally comfortable and doesn't punish the occupents. Leg room up front is great, though in the back its a little tight. While the Civic may be expensive on this end, the cost is obviously justified in the high fuel economy it gets and the pristine reliability.
Third Ones a Charm
This is my third honda. First bought a 94 hatchback, traded it in for a 98 CRV. I kept the CRV for weekends and bought an 2004 LX for the everyday commute. We wanted a sedan for better gas milage and went with the LX since it has all of the features we were used to with the CRV LX. Has the same light ride as the CRV but hugs the road better. I was surprised at the 15 inch wheels! Makes it look sportier. The lines remind you of a 3-series BMW. I love the new Magnesium Metallic color. First tank got us 30 to the gallon. I'm glad they got rid of the the center lap belt. Internet sales helped us get it $500 below invoice.
Great Car
I have onle had this car for a little over a week and I personally think it is an amazing car.
Worth Every Penny
Paid $100 under Edumunds invoice, and it was worth every cent. You can tell this car was made by people who take pride in their work--not some typical union shop like Dodge who doesn't give 2 hoots about quality. The driver's side arm rest is awkward, and the stereo is a bit hard to see, but awesome car, fun to drive. Car insurance was reasonable too. You will not be disappointed.
Happy EX Owner
This is a very reliable car that gets very good gas mileage. I am getting 41 mpg on the highway and 34-36 mpg city. I have the 4 door sedan that has plenty of room for 4 people. Trunk capacity is very good. Bought the vehicle brand new and now I have 45,000 miles on it. I have never had to take it in for service for anything more than the normal oil change and the regular maint. Resale value is great! I am a very happy Honda owner.
Stay with quality you know!
I just bought an 04 Civic EX. I had owned other Hondas but for a period of time owned an 03 Mazda Protege then an 05 Hyundai Santa Fe. The Civic I have now runs & drives flawlessly and is solid when it comes to handling. I don't worry like I did with the other cars when I see gas go up. The moral of the story is if you've been a Honda owner especially for a while and are thinking of something else, stick with what you know. You just can't go wrong with these vehicles.
i'm in love!
This honda is my first car, I'm a 20 year old college student. I couldnt decide between a civic or a corolla. I test drove both and decided that the honda was the better choice for me. I'm in love with it! It's beautiful inside and out. I have it in the new color for 2004 (magnesium metallic) and the interior cloth is gray. It rides nices, the sound system is decent, everything about it is perfect for me! We shopped around on the internet and used the TMV price to settle on 15,200. The dealer we bought from was great, but the dealer we test drove from tried to sell us an $800 package that was unecessary. Dont fall for an extra fees!
2004 honda civic lx sedan
traded in my 2002 honda civic lx sedan for a 2004 honda civic lx sedan. Basically afar improvement.
Initial Response
I've only had it 321 miles so far, but got 39.5 mpg on the first tank of gas. The car rides nicely and handles well. The build quality seems excellent. Working through Fleet/Internet Sales, I only paid $12,461 for the car and got 2.9% financing for 60 months. What a value!!! There were no hidden fees or dealer added on junk either.
Good Commuter
I have owned 3 Hondas previous to this purchase. I see the build quality dropping. There are more rattles in this one then the others. With 17,000 miles on the vehicle I have not had any service issues. I commute 100 miles (minimum) daily with steep grades of 6% to 8% for 15 to 20 mile distances. My highway to city driving ratio is 80%/20% respectively. With these two factors, I am getting 40 to 44 MPG (consistently). My worst tank full was 37 MPG. However, I am using fuel saving measure when I commute. This car is more comfortable than I ever thought it would be. However, there is to much road noise. I recommend the Civic as a commuter.
