Real good "little" car

Civic Minded, 10/22/2002
2003 Honda Civic EX 2dr Coupe (1.7L 4cyl 4A)

This car is only two weeks young at the time i'm writting this but the early feeling is this is a pretty solid compact car.It handles reel well and has more pep than i though it would have for a 4 cyl..My only complaints so far are drivers seat headroom the radio and road noise.I'm 6' tall and with the seat adjusted all the way down my hair just touchs the headliner which is a little annoying so i have to recline the seat back a little more than i like. As far as the road noise is concerned a change of tires will probably take care of it. Last but not least the raido. Weak, weak, weak. If you like a sound system with balls this one will need an upgrade.

I absolutly love my new Honda Civic. My last car was a 1988 Honda Accord Hatchback which lasted me more than 18 with NO repairs (tires, brakes, etc. not withstanding). I'm sure I will get the same reliability and dependability with my new car. It looks beautiful with the spoiler and ground pkg. it has a very sporty look and feel and I get many compliments on it.

How dealerships screw you out of $250

I did my research and printed out the Edmund's price. The dealership surprisingly had no problems with selling it to me for that. However, In the finance office, they stubbornly tried to sell me extended warranties and then announced that they already installed an anti-left plan to the car in which they charged me $249. It probably cost them $49 to buy it from the company and 5 minutes to put those silly stickers on the 7 most stripped parts of the car. I was not in the mood to have them spend an hour to remove the stickers and in turn stratch or chip the paint, so I'm paying $4.50 more a month for something that I didn't need or want.

Great cars, but my '00 Civic EX and my '01 Civic EX both of which i had gotten into an accident(head-on) and my air bags didnt go off. i walked away from both accidents, but i hit a barrier at 50+ mph and no airbag.. i thought it was a fluke, my second accident, head on with a pickup (@intersection) and again i walk away despite no airbag deployment. i dont think i am the only one experiencing this problem... i had a SRS light on my '01, so i took it in to get fixed and they just turned off the light and said they get that all the time.... obviously not

I finally bought my first new car (my old car was a used 1990 Honda Accord LX), a 2003 Honda Civic LX coupe with automatic transmission. No extras, but the LX comes with power d/l/w, a cd player, seat height adjustment, vanity lights, air filtration air conditioning, front airbags, and cruise control. The trunk is roomy, rear seat folds down if extra room needed. The car is zippy, handles well, great acceleration. Best of all, i rarely have to fill it up. I do a lot of city driving, too, so mileage rate is wonderful. The car is fun and economical. - dawn

Really enjoyed this 2 door EX Coupe

I had my Honda Civic for 5 years but just recently sold it so I could get a 4 door (got little kids). The car was very, very reliable and I only had a little over 51,000 miles on it. I never had any mechanical problems with it the whole time (knock on wood). I always changed the oil (myself) every 5,000 miles and made sure to change Air Filter (15,000 miles). I made sure to check the tires monthly as well. I got anywhere from 32-33 mpg around town with some highway driving. For straight highway trips I averaged around 36 on the last one. If you take care of this little baby it will take care of you. If you decide to sell your Civic, sell it out right as the dealerships will hose you.

That's right, this is the absolute best bang for the buck in the world! VERY quick, and perfect for traffic driving; almost no blind spots at all. I've only had mine for about 9,000 miles now, but I've enjoyed every mile of it. It also gets GREAT mpg for a "sports" car (38+hwy - 32+city). If you want a car to add performance parts to, this is also your car. I think they sell almost everything you can think of for a Civic. Finding stuff that's in stock on a Civic this new is a little hard though, but I'm not complaining...

I had been driving a Honda Civic Coupe DX, which I thought was the best car in the world. Thanks to an untimely event with a deer, I upgraded. The new EX is incredibly comfortable. I feel as if I am driving around in a lazy boy recliner. The gas mileage seems to be just as efficient as the DX, but the power and handling of this car makes the DX inferior.

This is a great car and gets the job done. The engine is peppy with the 5 speed but a dog with the auto I test drove. I have about 6000 mile on it now and the only complaint I have is the crappy firestone tires that come stock. The interor looks great compared to my 95 and tons of upgrades!!! Overall great car!!!

I have driven several luxury vehicles, decided to try a civic out after hearing all the good things about them. The only thing I can say is a negative is that after 3 or so hours, it is not as comfortable a ride as other vehicles I have owned. However, it is attractive, gets 40 mpg (which is more than the sticker states), is cheap to insure and has a great factory sound system. It shifts like a dream and I have no complaints.

After 40,000 miles, my Hybrid is still a solid, comfortable ride. Not a performance vehicle, but a good commuter car. I have been somewhat disappointed in mileage compared to the ads/EPA. On my 80 mile round-trip flat highway commute (70-80mph) the car averages 38mpg. Slowing down really makes a difference, at 55 mph, it gets closer to 52mpg. I'm still having fun learning to tweak the mileage, and I am slowing down. So far, great reliability, no mechanical problems at all.

I got this car used, to replace my '97 Accord. I really like this car. it has about 25k miles on without even the hint of a problem. Ironically enough I was rear ended (correction- Plowed through) 4 days after I bought the car. I was rear ended at about 30 mph by a brand new Chevy Malibu. Her car was totalled. Mine had 7k worth of damage. I am very impressed at how well my Civic stood up in that accident for being such a small car. Anyways, it took them about 3 weeks to fix my car and its as good as new. If your looking for a semi-inexpensive car that has very low operating cost, high reliability and is also fun then go with a Civic. You just can't go wrong with a Honda

I love my new Honda Civic. The best thing about it is that it is sporty, yet still a sensible purchase. Plus, this car comes with lots of good stuff like a CD player, anti-theft system and an automatic sunroof. I also really like the great gas mileage and the fact that I feel safe driving it. Not only that, but a lot of the other cars I looked at were the same price--only they were three years old and had at least 30-40 thousand miles on them. I am so glad I decided to get a brand-new car for the same price or less!

I bought this Civic, our third, to replace the '90 SHO I just wrecked. I knew what to expect, and was not disappointed. It's a fun car, inexpensive and well made. I wish Honda would make an EX for old guys like me though. I immediately spent $3K on wheels, tires, springs and sway bars. I like an automatic, but I also like to go fast.

I originally purchased the vehicle because of it's design. I love the exterior look of the Civic Coupe. But since I've purchased the car, I'm more satisfied with all of the features and performance that this Civic offers for its price. The car has reliable pick- up when I hit the accelerator, it's interior is comfortable, and all of the dials and switches are nicely integrated into the dash. Now, don't get me wrong, the car could use some more horsepower but for the price at which the car is offered, I think it's probably the best car on the road out there for its class.

This is my first honda civic. I've always wanted one and now i finally have one. Its a beautifull car inside and out. The attention to detail is very good for this class of car. the Engine is good with the available 5 speed and should be mandatory with EX model. The shifts are very smooth and crisp, one of the best 5 speeds around.

It was hard to find this car, but it was worth the hunt. The HX gets 44 mpg on the road and comes standard with alloy wheels, CD player and more, so in my opinion it's the best Civic and really looks good in the blue metallic color with a spoiler. I got the 5 spd and it's pretty peppy and like all Honda's, it's very solid (no rattles at all). Probably the best thing however is still the gas mileage. If you want a fun, solid, economical coupe, consider the Honda Civic HX coupe, if you can find one.

This car looks great inside and out especially the lighted dash. It is very reliable and gets good gas mileage. My first tanks of gas have given me 36,32,29,35 and 36 mpg with the last two being mostly highway during the summer. The most important thing about this car is the peace of mind it gives me knowing Honda’s reputation for quality. But, this car is not fun to drive or comfortable (although I’m 6'2" and fit fine) and is definitely underpowered. The car is also really loud. I still recommend this car though.

I've had my HX Civic for a year now and I thank Honda for making such a great car for people who want to be environmentally friendly without sacrifice. The lean-burn V-tech engine is amazing in that it produces good power and the best gas mileage of any non-hybrid car in the U.S. You have to rev it up to get it to go, but it happily revs to redline and spins the front wheel in second gear. The transmission is silky smooth and I love the styling inside and out. And I saved $6k by not getting the hybrid. Smart car.

I decided that enough with the poor reliability and poor service I got with a domestic car, I decided I want some peace and comfort. And the Honda delivers. High quality build, very good looks, fuel economy that is second to none( I average anywhere from 30 mpg to over 40 mpg, just depends on how heavy my right foot is), excellent handling, and an interior that was designed right. Very fun to drive. And when I went for service, the dealer treated me the right way. No more domestics..they have lost me forever!

This Civic has been a great little vehicle for my morning, and afternoon, drive to work. The fuel economy is excellent, mid to high 30s. The vehicle has been very reliable, has required no maintenance other then routine and no repairs. I live in Houston and I chuckle every time I drive past a huge SUV or truck at a gas station. I drive 26 miles to work each morning and another 26 home each afternoon. I fill up each Monday, for 8-9 gallons.
