Japanese Racing Pod... :)
I bought my 90 CRX Si new in Feb of 90 and I have never regretted it. I have thought about purchasing a newer car but because it's such a reliable car and runs beautifully, it's hard to justify needing another vehicle, new or otherwise. And it looks good, especially in red with the black trim. After waxing, it looks like a shiny lady bug. The engine has 265,000 miles and is as smooth and quiet as ever. Regular valve adjustment are a good way to maintain this. But it's a very well built car - built to last. I have saved THOUSANDS because I bought this car and not the Ford Escort GT I was also considering-don't ask me why. Honda is an Engine company that happens to build cars...
One of the geatest Hondas built
I have owned a CRX for going on 2 years now. It is by far the best car I have ever owned. I bought it with a JDM B16 swap in it. Even though it has a bigger engine than stock, it still gets about the same MPG, averaging about 28-30 in town and 36-38 on the highway. Having the extra power makes it more fun to drive too. Now having almost 260,000 miles on her, she is still kickin down the road.
Reliability and Economy at it's best!
This is a great late 80's early 90's high fuel mileage economy car. It's not the most comfortable for long trips, but it works wonders for my long daily commute. I've owned this car since 1989 (it's a 1990), and I still love this car. I have had the engine rebuilt around 290K, and the clutch replaced 4 times, suspension bushings at 325K, new tires when needed, but other than that, I have no complaints--those are norma lwear and tear items anyways. I currently have 821,457 miles on the odometer and look forward to reachingt he one million mile mark! Honda builds quality and reliable cars. Most cars well taken care of will give you years of reliable service! Way to go Honda!
Most reliable car ever
Well I bought my crx in August of 07. I needed a good mileage car to drive back and forth to school, this crx was a addition to me , it saved tons of money in just gas. The inside is simple a radio only no fancy perks. It currently has 132,000 miles on her and still gets up and goes like a 4cyl sports car lol. It is too bad they wouldn't make a come back , same design some model and motor. In all fair a great commuter car with the way gas is today .
CRX IS THE BEST
The CRX is a very reliable car for daily communiting. My CRX has 211,000 miles and I would still drive it anywhere. The 5 speed transmition shifts smoothly and tightly. The engine still sounds new. It does not use one drop of oil. It has great visibility from the cockpit. For having low horsepower, this car still moves along very fast. I wish they remade these cars.

Great Little Car For The Money
The reliabilty of this car has stood out to me the most. I have had so many little problems with it, and its made it out of them jsut fine. It currently has 220,000 miles. It still runs strong. It's very fast, and gets great fuel economy. Easy to shift, and get parts for. It's cheap to fix, and cheap to fill up. Car has overheated a few times, and once overheated on my way to detroit. A 4 hour trip for me. I got about an hour away from home, and it shot up to H, and I still kept driving the 3 other hours. Made it there, and back without any hesitations. But I did do 110, on the way home, and it did start to rattle, so when I got home, it went in the paper. Sold for $800 in the first week.
Porsche japones
No es my primer auto pero este auto cumplio mis expectativas ampliamente .la verdad nada mal para un motor 1.6 pequeño q produce una potencia conciderablemente alta :D
What more could you ask for
I love this car, I bought it with 89,000 miles on it in 2004, it now has 108,000 (its actually an 88) and I fell in love with the fuel economy (38- 42 mpg) and the smooth 5 speed. It is a wonderful alternative for someone who has little money, but still wants a sporty car. It is a hoot to drive on twisty backroads with its light weight and sporty suspension. I keep thinking that an S2000 would be nice, but I keep reminding myself that this CRX fulfills all of my needs. Hondas are great!
CRXtasy
Hands down the best car you can own if you do not want to live in a wreck. Actually that is not true, this is my 3rd CRX, nice 30,000 imported engine in her, and runs like a new Porsche. It handles like a motorcycle and actually likes traffic. Putting 140 hp to the ground in this car (read altered engine) literally can make you feel like your launching a Vette. Damn shame they stopped making them, actually knowing Honda, they would probably of screwed it up eventually,. but if you can find one... you better buy that puppy. These things have a cult following, and for good reason!
A Ringer
Honda needs to bring the CRX back. It has few comparisons on the road today or in its day. I have owned my 90 CRX since new and am now looking for an new car and can not find anything that compares. Hands down my CRX beats what's offered today in this category in styling, handling, comfort, mileage (33/40), and interior room. There are more powerful cars on the road but at 92 hp this can still keep up in most traffic and after 18 1/2 years still accelerates in fifth gear while going up hill on the highway. Alas, winter salt has attacked the sheet metal (rear wheel wells and rocker) to the point that it is not economical to fix. I have 245,000+ miles on her and would get 50K or more I'm sure
honest CRX review
It's a fun drive due to low profile, good acceleration, and good cornering. Mileage is good, 32 mpg - 37 mpg depending on whether I'm driving 'nice' or not. I've parked this car in amazingly small spots (helps in packed lots). By putting the front seat down and leaving the hatch up, I have also used it to haul stereo PA setups, lumber, and decent sized bulky loads...it's a good workhorse. Maintenance after 13 years: new engine mounts, minor oil leak, repack L/F bearings, replace ALL front CVs :(, and the most expensive replace everything that drives the moonroof (previous owner let it rust).
Awesome littlest car around
I loved the style from the beginning when they started making them back in the 80s (and I didn't even have my license yet). I bought one brand new back in 1990. I babied it and drove it for several years before moving to a corolla as my girl-friend didn't want to drive manual. I kept the car and passed it to my sister. She wasn't very good with it and even ran the car dry with no oil in the engine. Don't know how long it was running like that but I was amazed the car still ran and no engine lights warning. I finally repossessed the car again after 4 years and it still ran wonderfully but the interior was worst for wares. I got married, had kids and sold the car. Broke my heart.
1990 Honda Civic CRX
This is definitely the best car I have ever owned. The style, so reliable, the mpg, lightweight and fun to drive. I have mine customized and for a '90 still looks just as good as most cars on the road and still turns heads. Its a great summer car too, sunroof on tilt or off, windows down, and its all set. Can't say enough about how great it is.
Great car
This is one of the best cars on the road. For a 2 seater, the car has a lot of room inside. This thing is comfy. The power and handling are superb and the ergonomics are fantastic. If you are someone who is into tinkering, this car is for you. If you are looking for a reliable mode of transportation, look no further. I've currently have over 230K miles on mine! This car is fantastic for all buyers.
Cute, quick, quirky...
My very first car, my baby. My white 1989 CRX DX was a dream car. Like me, the car is small and likes to get anywhere fast. She can zip in and out of traffic with no difficulty, but driver beware. The bigger trucks and SUVs tend not to notice the tiny CRX sharing the road with them. Cops, however, do take notice. Also, there are no back seats so you never have to drive your car on those car-load road trips!
"sorry, My car only has 2 seats"
As the owner of a civic hatchback capable of holding 5 people including driver (or more if you get creative with the hatch area) I found myself driving everyone everywhere all the time. Now I have an excuse! The second generation of Honda's CRX offers one of the most rewarding driving experiences available on the road today while remaining quite functional as a grogery-getter if need be. With it's timless design and the reliability of a Honda, how can you go wrong?
Fantastic Car!
What a great car. Just wish they made new ones. Mine has 175K miles...I bought it with 124K miles. Still runs great...averages about 40 mpg city and highway combined. I've had to replace a few things, but just items that are commonly replaced after so many years and miles. I can't figure out which new car to buy because I haven't found a better car.
Like RAD, Dude!
I inherited the CRXsi from my wife when I bought her the new Durango (go figure!) and I love it! I work in SF and commute 75 miles a day. Great mileage, I can park it anywhere slightly larger than a shoebox, and with it's sunroof and pumped stereo I dig it! Since she bought it brand new, we have meticulous records and I drop a lot of $ into it's maintenance yearly so I expect it to keep on going. Kinda like the Energizer Bunny and a Timex, combined. What I enjoy these days are all the kids who drool over it, wanting to strip the interior and drop an Acura motor in it for the midnight Banzai runs around the Bay.
Awesome car
i brought this car havin 130 thousand milies i paid 18000 for it i now have 200 thousand milies on it and it runs awesome..........
Te amo mi CRX
I bought this car brand new at Martin's in NYC. They were great. It was a sale. It was sexy, showy and fast. The car became my second home. I didn't appreciate it in the beginning but this car's engine continues to run and sound great. 12 years of abuse and still running. I'm scared to buy another car for fear it will not be able to take my handling. Besides men love to see a women shift gears. Te Amo Mi CRX
honda 90
I love my honda si .It is very comfortable to drive, very economical. For the time Ihad it,I never encounter any major problem with it. Body kit was installed lately, with new paint.
YO
I resently purchased a 1990 CRX w/ 150000 miles for 2600. I must say its a great car. Even with only 92 HP, I swear its faster off the line then an Audi A4 Ive driven, and it has 170 HP!
my crx is race ready!!!
hey this is another one of ure crx owners my crx is race ready with an appualling 280hp 17" rims with wings west bodykit alumin wing momo complete interior and all the goods
"C ReX" best honda ever built
Ive just bought the car in Audust of 2002 and first thing i did was change the Engine/tranny/ecu to a Japan setup, the thing flies, i cant believe the power you can get from the crx...its got the B16A DOHC V-Tec...Ive had three CRX's before this one, and i still love them...except the COPS dont like me :-)
GO Si!
i own a black 1990 CRX si and i love it! My car was a present to me on my 18th birthday, but i've wanted one for a long time. It's so quick and handles like it's a part of you. Another noteworthy aspect is the interior layout, for such a little car it fits me perfectly....and i'm not small, yet my girlfriend who is only 5'1" says she likes it to...so it is very versatile. I love my car and i give it a 10!!!
BUY ONE!
I bought my CRX HF with 177,000 miles on it. In 7 months, I put over 50,000 more on it before someone failed to look before pulling into an intersection. The only mechanical issue was a sticky brake caliper. I get 40 MPG on the interstate, 50 MPG on the highway. My Civic hatchback had over 340,000 on it befor the engine went belly up(Even then. I sold it for $250, no haggeling, and it was in the paper for one day). This would have esilly gone as far. These things are getting hard to find - if you find one, buy it! I may well spend more money than it would cost to buy another car just to put this back on the road. They're that good.
great car
Overall a wonderful car. Great realiability, gas milage, and fun factor with near timeless styling and revolutionary handling this is a great car.
God bless the Rex
God blessed the CRX with light weight great fuel economy and the ability to swap various other Honda and Acura engines into it.The only car I will ever want.
yeah buddy!
yeah it's a great car
Amazing Machine
I am in love with this vehicle. Very happy with my purchase. I may put some money into furthering it's performance capabilities, but still very happy! It definitely has some get up and go for such a little car. Lots of potential! They should continue to make these beasts! they are great cars, and with todays technology they could be that much better than when they left off. I would suggest finding one with low miles like I did. there is definitely lots of life left for this car.
Re-introduce this car again
This is the best car I have ever owned, period. Its fuel economy is great at 33- 50mpg depending on my driving situation; great load capacity from the back hatch; style that 16 years later still has people commenting on and admiring; Mechanical reliability and noticable performance. I can still accelerate on an upgrade in 5th gear. My only regret is the harsh winters of the Northeast has taken its toll on the sheet metal around the rear wheel wells, but then that is the case with any vehicle. Honda would do well to reintroduce this car with all the millenium technology improvements. After 230K I am considering a new car but have hesitated buying. There is nothing that comes close to the CRX.
old blue
This car is known as old reliable. This car only require oil and gas. It avg about 36 mpg that is better than most vehicles today.
WOW !
My 1990 CRX was 14 years old when I bought it. It still looks great. My 1990 CRX had 128,000 miles on it when I bought it. It runs like lightning. Still shifts nice, accelerates superb, unbelieveable milage. I think it needs brakes but I like driving it so much I don't think I will ever stop again. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee.............. P.S. CRX's are getting harder to find. Mine is a standard hatch, 5 speed and light as a feather. It has a K&M cold air intake, performance exhaust, coil overs, sway bars, strut tower bar and it corners like it's on rails. After I added low profiles and nice 16"wheels the car is perfect. My little CRX gets "ALL" the looks.
WondeREX!
I've driven quite a few cars and the Rex's handling is way above its class. Eats the pavement for breakfast lunch and dinner and then again for a midnight snack. I recently swapped out my d15b DPFI motor for the japanese SOHC ZC which has is the d16a6 but with slightly increased compression and a more aggresive cam, good for about 12 more hp over the USDM Si version. Runs amazing but im using a weak clutch and conservative feul maps, so it still needs some tweeking. Once it's how i want it though it should run mid or low 15's mostly stock.
Great College Car!
Bought this car from a family friend with only 63,000 original miles on it! It's an automatic, which I disliked at first, but I've learned to accept it for what it is: quite possibly the best value for my money. I now own a fun to drive, low-cost, easy to maintain car that will last for years to come. Not even any of that typical rear-wheel well rust yet! *Knocks on wood* On the highway this car really shines. In the 4th gear, it can cruise at 75-80 MPH all day.
Flyin' in my Si
I bought my Si from a Chevrolet dealer in Decatur, AL, for only $500. Undoubtedly, the dealer knew nothing about this car, or it would have sold for a much higher price. I love this car. It's incredibly fast. I clocked it at about 6 seconds, 0-60. Weaves thru traffic like a go-cart. CV joints were clickin' when I bought it over a year ago, and they're still clickin'. Typical sucky Honda paint, but no rust. Sunroof sometimes requires several tries to open, but closes fine. Nice, firm, supportive seats. The shock thingy's on the hatch gave out, so have to prop it open with a 2x2. A/C compressor gone, gotta fix that.
The CRX was a great car. Bring it back!!
I bought my '90 CRX Si back in January '98. It was a great car and never let me down. It's hard to find one bone-stock and in clean condition now-a-days, but worth every effort. Acceleration was great (0-60 in about 8.3 seconds, stock) Handling was superb, can corner amazingly well. It easily gets 30 mpg. Reliability was as usual, outstanding for a Honda. Unfortunately, it was totalled in August of '99. I still plan on buying another one some day.
Great Bang For The Buck!
I purchased this 1990 Honda CRX HF in April of '95 to use as a commuter car. I've replaced the seats with something a little more comfy, but this car is wonderfully reliable, gets wonderful fuel economy, and the previous owner added A/C (for those hot summer days). I commute 120 miles a day and have had ZERO troubles with this car. She's at 345,000 miles and still going strong (2 clutches, normal oil changes, belts, tires, and minor suspension work). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
coolest economy car ever.
The honda crx si is a great car to have. there are so many possibilities for it. right now i just replaced the stock 1.6 L engine for a 92 jdm honda crx zc dohc. which is a straight swap with no modifications necessary. Right now it is the best car i have ever owned.
CRX RULES
"This car is one of the bests cars out there."
17 years and still going strong
I bought my Honda CRXsi new in 1986. It has been all over in all kinds of weather, including harsh winters (did great). No major problems in 17 years. I still have the ORIGINAL CLUTCH! I've put 160K on it. Time for a new car, but what? I tried the Mini Cooper, but I was put off by the plasticky interior and front visibility. Too used to my CRX. I left the dealership in my rusty CRX and drove down the West Side Highway, thinking I should just get the bodywork done. Now I'm looking at the VW GTIit almost even looks like a CRX, but I've heard some bad things. SUVs that have forced out the production of truly fun-to-drive and economical cars like the CRX.
Second CRX this ones a 1990 DX
Great car, mods are cold air in and exhaust, thats all, pulls about 98hp, great car for anyone. Reliable, quick, handles like its on rails.

The Original Pocket Rocket!!!
This was my first car. It had great performance and great gas mileage. One of the top 5 Honda's ever built.
Best car ever!
This car is amazing. It is great on gas, if it ever breaks down which is rarely, it is cheap to fix. Last forever. It's fast for such low horsepower.

i got my crx to build into a show car ,and its working perfectly. it is the best car ivew ever owned! i never would have thought that little car would have such space in side of the car. what can i say, its a honda!
best first car ever
the crx si is one of the best first cars ever. even compared to my parents cars i would take my crx, it is sleek, and sporty lookin and for the price reliability and horsepower(108@6000rpm) it is fast. it runs a 16.1-16.2 quarter mile and handles excellant, honda should bring it back
