Used 2008 Honda Accord Sedan Consumer Reviews
Almost Excellent - 1,200 Mile Review
This 2008 EXL V6 is my sixth Accord. I had planned to get the 3 series BMW, but the Accord is a better value. The car is much larger inside. I don't like the dash/radio assembly, but the interior has a luxury look. The major problem is the horrible road noise. The stereo shop will charge me $600 for sound deadening. Acceleration is mediocre. Idle isn't as smooth as my other Accords. I hear a knock occasionally after it starts, but Honda can't replicate the problem. Mileage over three tanks has been 25.43 (mixed): 25.03 (mostly city); and 26.0 (highway). You don't get a trip computer unless you spend several thousand on the NAVI. Fix the road noise and this car becomes really good.
Love my new Accord
Just purchased 08 Accord EX-L w/ Navi for just over invoice. Got lots of quotes from other dealers before I got the price I wanted. Love everything about the car and can only hope my wife lets me drive it more often.

The perfect family car
When my wife totaled our Mazda6 Wagon I was sure we'd replace it with a new Honda CRV. But after seeing the new Accord in the flesh it was too good to pass up. It was bigger, got better MPG, still offered a stickshift, and was cheaper. Even our "base" LX has all the amenities, all the safety items we demanded, and a ton of passenger space. The exterior, which looked so odd in pictures, is quite appealing in person. We got the black cloth interior and the polished metal exterior. It handles flatly in corners yet doesn't punish you with a harsh ride. The shifter is typical Honda-perfect. With a set of snow tires it's handling VT winter like a champ.
Very impressive car
I came from a loaded Chevy Tahoe to the Accord. This is my second Honda and I am impressed by it. I bought it with splash guards and rear wing spoiler installed. The first 1/2 tank of gas yielded 25 mpg (city & hwy). Gas mileage is still getting better though. Hopefully I'll be able to consistently stay in the high 20's. It sure beats the 15.5mpg I was getting with my Tahoe. Build quality is excellent and everything is intuitive. Sure there are a lot of buttons at first but you learn to focus on what you want to change and it becomes easier with time. I don't even have to look at them much anymore, I just know which area to go to in order to change functions. Very happy with it!
am I missing something?
As a previous 05 v6 EXL owner I was excited when I first saw the new 08 Accords. We purchased a V6 EX-L after a 3 minute test drive as our replacement "beater/mileage drive to the city car" (My signifacant other and I also drive an 08 BMW535xi and an 07 E350) For slightly under $28K this new Accord sucks! Road noise on even the slightest bumps, uncomfortable ride, hollow tin-ny sounding and poor material quality on the interior. We have been huge fans of the Accords since the 86-89 series and feel this is by far the worst example and no doubt our last. I know we can't compare to our other cars but this car has really gotten "cheap" feeling. This car is not a keeper for us.
