I made a terrible mistake
I traded my Toyota 4Runner for a 2024 Sierra 1500 Duramax 3.0 because I wanted better towing capabilities for our frequent cross-country trips. My check engine light came on within the first month, right before I was supposed to head out on a long trip. The local dealer reset it but couldn’t find a problem. The same thing happened a couple of months later with the same result. Then about a month later, again right before I was supposed to take a long trip, the light came back on and I got a message that the acceleration had been limited. This time the dealer (a different one) said it’s a charge air pump and that one has been ordered. I was advised to not drive long distances until the repair was completed. So I changed my travel plans and waited for the new part. A week later I was told that the part is back ordered with no ETA. I called GMC and they told me that they would look into it. After another week and a couple more calls GMC elevated the problem to expedited status. From what I can tell all this means is that it’s been assigned to another person who tracks it and calls me once a week to tell that nothing has changed. So the truck is still sitting at the dealership and has been basically unusable for a month. The bottom line is that the truck has been unusable for a total of 6 weeks and counting since I bought it 10 months ago and has caused me to cancel two trips. I’ve told GMC that I’d like a buyback but they claim that this particular problem doesn’t rise to those standards. I understand that in a way because the problem and repair seem rather simple, except that GMC can’t get the damn part. At this point I have no confidence in the truck and plan to trade it as soon as possible.

7 Month review
Purchased in May 2024. Sierra 1500 SLT Trim with the X-31 off road and 5.3 V-8. So far awesome. I was a little afraid I was going to lose some of the comforts of my Yukon but no. In fact picked up some options that I would have like to have on my Yukon like electric folding mirrors. I have never had a pickup before and I can tell you I will not buy anything else again as a daily driver. The SLT package is just enough. A little better than the Elevation as I drove both before making a decision. I also drove an AT4 but that was a little out of the budget. This truck has been great and I absolutely love doing business with T and T Coast in Sea Girt, NJ. This is the 4th truck I have bought there and am always treated great. No games. The only disappointment is at the time I bought it there were not many different colors available. With that combination of trim and engine you got either black or white. I wound up with a black one. Looks and drives great. Infotainment is fine enough. I know there a lot of people who bang on GM for the lack of tech for that but it's sufficient for most people. 5 out of 5 for me. Until of course the lifters go bad.

Great truck, horrid entertainment system
I have owned my 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali and love almost all aspects of the vehicle. But the entertainment system is horrid. I cannot complete a bluetooth phone call with the constant disconnects. In the time that calls are functional, the phone speaker cracks like it is broken. Also, I have started the car twice, and there is no sound whatsoever, not even for FM radio. The only solution is disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. These are well-known issues on GMC Sierra forums for 25, 24, and 23 1500 trucks. Shame on GM for such poor electronics.

No plug in!!!
This is a prime example of internship, where someones big new idea was to remove the old school cigarette lighter port? But failed to realize that every single pro gps, dash cam, tool inverters despite having 1 out let will barely enough power to run a drill, air compressor pumps, and just about every single on the road vehicle electronic component uses the "cigarette" lighter outlets. WTF there isn't even an adapter for that! Now what all my tools are reserved useless or pay a lot of $ to have 1 installed! Smh

Very impressed
My last four trucks were Toyota Tundras. The newest a 2023. Lemons can be had anywhere and from any make including Toyota, I have experienced that with my 2023 Tundra! I traded for a new 2023 Sierra SLT with the 5.3 V8. After 22,000 miles I’m very happy with it. The V8 isn’t as snappy as the turbo V6 Toyota, BUT it’s also averaging over 20 mpg VS the Tundras 14 mpg. Dare I say the GMC has also been 100% more reliable than the Tundra. The tech works very well and the truck feels well built. Plan to keep this one 7-8 years so I’ll update as I go. So far I really like this thing!
