Trim level differences

The 2024 Hummer EV Pickup (there is also an Hummer EV SUV model) is an all-electric full-size pickup truck that seats five and comes with a 5-foot bed. It's available in three trim levels: 2, 2X and 3X. The 2 and 2X come with two electric motors — one on each front and rear axle — rated at an estimated 625 horsepower combined (we base this estimate on the similarly equipped Hummer EV SUV). The 3X comes with three electric motors — one on the front axle, two on the rear — for an estimated 1,000 horsepower. Keep reading for our breakdown of the Hummer EV's key features and options.

The base trim Hummer EV pickup comes standard with:

  • Trailer hitch and trailer brake controller (allow adjustment of a trailer's brakes from the cab)

  • Heated and ventilated front seats

  • Heated steering wheel
  • 14-speaker Bose sound system

It also has:

  • Digital rearview mirror (displays real-time rear camera image)
  • 13.4-inch touchscreen
  • Navigation
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration (both with wireless connectivity)
  • 14-speaker Bose sound system
  • Wireless phone charging

Advanced driver aids include:

  • Forward collision warning with automatic braking (warns you of an impending collision and applies the brakes in certain scenarios)
  • Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning (alerts you if a vehicle is in your blind spot during a lane change or while in reverse)
  • Rear automatic braking (applies the brakes automatically to avoid an imminent collision with an object behind the vehicle)
  • Lane keeping system (makes minor steering corrections to help keep the vehicle centered in its lane)
  • Adaptive cruise control (adjusts speed to maintain a constant distance between the vehicle and the car in front)
  • 360-degree camera system (gives you a top-down view of the Hummer EV and its surroundings for tight parking situations)
  • Automated parking system (steers into a parking spot with little or no driver intervention)
  • Super Cruise (a driver assist feature that allows for hands-free driving on compatible highways)

2X
The 2X adds additional range and:

  • Higher AC charging capability (19.2 kW)
  • Power Station (can be used to supply power up to 3 kW for electric tools or devices, or up to 6 kW to charge another EV)
  • Adaptive air suspension (adjusts for suspension firmness and ride height)
  • CrabWalk feature (utilizes four-wheel steering for enhanced maneuverability when off-roading)

3X
The full-tilt 3X adds:

  • 22-inch premium finish wheels
  • Watts To Freedom launch control

A higher-capacity, 24-module battery pack is an option for the 3X. GMC says range with this battery when fully charged is 381 miles for 2024.

An optional Extreme Off-Road package for 2X and 3X trims adds:

  • 18-inch black-painted wheels
  • Goodyear Wrangler MT tires
  • Underbody skid plate protection
  • Locking front and rear differentials
  • Recovery hooks
  • Front and rear underbody cameras

A new Omega Edition requires the Extreme Off-Road package. It also adds:

  • Exclusive Neptune Blue paint
  • Special 18-inch wheels
  • Various dealer-installed accessories

Many other features, such as roof panel storage solutions, power tonneau cover and pop-up tents, are available as dealer-installed add-ons.

Which HUMMER EV trim does Edmunds recommend?

The 2024 GMC Hummer EV comes loaded with similar features at all three trim levels. But there are a few reasons why we'd recommend the 2X. It packs more range than the base trim and comes with an adaptive air suspension, and it offers options unavailable on the base trim. It also comes with the CrabWalk feature, which, even if you never use it off-road or in a tight parking space, will be the conversation piece of any party you attend.
