I bought my Acadia used with 130,000 miles and a warranty. I have had it for 3 months and since then two 02 sensors have gone out ($170) and now I have to get a new battery and a new starter ($340). I am just waiting for the next thing to go wrong. One of the worst vehicles I have ever owned.. I will not be buying anything else that has GMC on it.

I own a GMC Acadia, on a day that I was riding home from work. I hit a pot hold in the streets and my side air bags deployed von both sides. I called the company about the situation. They had me to take it to a dealership to get checked. After the expert checked it he stated that the airbags deployed correctly with sensors responding to a roll-over. My car had no damage to it at all, I hit a pot hold. They told me it was my fault and I had to get it repaired. I love the vehicle but this kind of service response is not what I or any other consumer needs to here. The sensors malfunctioned so GMC should be responsible in repairing the airbags but because they cost so much they leave me the lonely consumer to pay for it. Which I can not afford or fight them about. If not repair it at least replace the vehicle with another one, this would have not cost the Manufacture a dime. Hopefully more consumers complain about the business practice of GMC.

After having my 2009 GMC Acadia at the dealership for a month with transmission issues it is once again going there. After the check engine light came back on exactly a week after having it back. I used my neighbors diagnostic tester and the code P0700 came up. So it’s being towed back tommorow morning. I have been trying to contact gmc for weeks since day one and nothing. A customer service rep called and left a message so I called her back and I haven’t heard anything back. So I emailed GMC and now I am writing a review. I don’t want to shame the company because gmc is a household name and it used to be good. I read that if you continue to try you might get a response. I hope it works. I would like to resolve this ASAP this car is my main vehicle for my family. *10-02-2018 UPDATE My car is back in the shop again with the sputter issue. In March we spent close to $6,000.00 on trans/catalytic converter repairs. We thought it was fixed. I just dropped it off this morning after contacting the dealership and gmcs customer service. On the bright side they helped me get a loaner car to drive my kids back and forth to school. UPDATE 10/4/18 I have my car back. It was the coil pack and a spark plug says The dealership. So far it is running okay. I will update if it happens again.

I bought my 2009 Acadia almost three years ago she has been great until last summer my timing chain went I had to rebuild the whole top half of my engine it did not have the money to rebuild the entire engine which should have been done the oil breaks down in the engine that causes like a hardening crust that breaks off and clogs the fuel pump and screan. Now I need a new engine I need a power rack I just replaced all of my coils I believe it was called the bank sensor something like that in the front of the engine the alternator has been replaced the battery has been replaced entire front end has been repaired and replaced I'm on my third set of tires at 3 years and I don't try very far I'm a stay-at-home mom and it's not from dry rot I need a new AC compressor now that is also seized my engine light is consistently on it needs an O2 sensor at this point and something else it's throwing for codes replace my fuel pump my fuel tank and it's still hums might get the gas cap off in the gas is low if the engine is still running I can't shut the car off to fuel it or it won't restart basically at this point it's a lawn ornament I'm over under in my loan I almost half it needs approximately 4 to $5,000 worth of work and that's almost what I owe left on my loan that's not what it's even worth anymore has 145000 miles on it it's newest thing is it makes the strangest sound it sounds like I have a bass system it's a very deep bong sound I don't know where it's coming from shut my radio off so it's not from the radio but if you had like a subwoofer the deep bass sound you get is the new sound that makes and if my oil gets low which it does seem to be evaporating we don't know where it's going then it stops to Buck like its misfiring if anyone has any information on this car I'd be more than willing to listen I'm at a loss at this point I'm a one-income family I have three kids I drive 2,000 miles a month at this point getting my kids back and forth to school and work and I don't feel safe driving it cuz I'm afraid he'll break down at any time

I have driven Japanese for years, but decided to give GMC a try, first with a 2005 Sierra Truck and now with the 2009 Acadia. I have never been happier. My 2009 GMC AWD Acadia SLE is fully stocked, including dual sunroof, LCD screen, folding sideview mirrors, back up camera, heated seats, Bose sound system, tri-coat platinum finish, luxury leather interior, bluetooth technology, remote start, and more. My Acadia is a beauty. We average 6'3 in my family. Amazingly everyone is comfortable - even on cross county trips. The Acadia is easy to maneuver, accelerates with easy, gives a quiet ride and epitomizes the best in luxury and savings.
