I came from Lexus RX, Mercedes GLE, E class, and Toyota Sienna. After doing a lot of researches, GV80 seems to be the best choice for the money since all Youtube reviews and written reviews praised it like a new king in town (except some reviews with "harsh ride"). I initially traded in my Mercedes for the GV80 3.5T with Advanced package. Because this car got noise and vibration issues, I complained the dealer and they finally allow me to trade the advanced package in for the Prestige package with a little cost. Yep, if you are about to buy a GV80, the prestige package is worth every penny. Noise active cancellation feature works absolutely amazing. At 80mph, the road noise is so low. Compared to the Advanced package, the road noise wont be different at under 40mph speed, but it is a huge difference at above 60mph speed. The 12.3in cluster is much better than the 8in cluster in every aspect. Genesis actually added a lot of features in the prestige package, therefore the prestige ride quality is more comfort than the Advanced. One downside of the prestige is 22in wheels. IMO, the wheels are too big for a luxury SUV. Although big wheels improve handling, braking functionalities, you will feel bumpy if driving on defect roads. Under normal road, the car runs smooth like on the glass. In sum, a GV80 with prestige is the best. It comes with an elegant design with all features loaded. With same configuration, GV80 is cheaper than X5 and GLE at least 10k. If you dont care the brand, GV80 is an excellent to choose.

Purchased GV80 Advanced Prestige Package, 2 Row seating in December 2020. Now have about 4000 miles on it. Installed an after-market Class 3 tow hitch. Gorgeous design receives significant number of unsolicited positive comments from bystanders. Power is adequate, but gas mileage at 18mpg is awful. Premium fuel is recommended, but I’ve been using regular octane without problems. Cargo storage capacity with rear seats down is fantastic. Drive is comfortable, but with the 20” wheels, it is not as soft as it probably would be otherwise. Although fairly quiet, there is still come outside noise (my Lexus is more quiet). Reaching the onboard screen from the driver’s seat can be challenging, but if you learn the voice command system, which is accessed from the steering wheel, some of that can be avoided. Navigation is exceptionally easy to set via voice command, as are some of the other controls. Safety features are simply amazing, and the GPS is visually captivating. Cameras located everywhere help you navigate lane changes, backing up and turning with ease. Cruise control feature is highly advanced. However, using some of the controls and voice commands are not intuitive, and require some study or consistent application to remember. I own and have owned most of the other luxury brands (Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, Lexus) and the fit, finish and execution of function for this vehicle is easily on par with the others, and it is a much better value for the money. The dealership experience leaves something to be desired, but with complimentary valet service, we’ve only visited the dealer once to purchase the car – all other maintenance and service issues were resolved with a phone call, since the car was retrieved and picked up, having been left with a loaner for the day. Would purchase again. Addendum at 8/17/22, now have about 10K miles. Have experienced no problems of any kind. Have learned to use some additional features, like hands free parking, and still love the car as much as I did the day that we bought it.

Quality issues and subpar service department

After owning my GV80 Advance+V6T-AWD since 6/2021, it spends most of the time in the dealership for repairs, from 1 week to 3+ months intervals. I have many issues on the GV80, from lane departure, front sensing, frontal collision, engine light on and other system errors, while it’s less than 4,000 miles. As of 3/2022, the Genesis Navigation fails to route to anywhere, unless it’s offline! One would expect a decent dealership experience since Genesis is a fairly new luxury brand. Not a chance, they treat us like we have a $25k Hyundai, while it costs almost $75k (included markup on chip shortage). It’s surprising that even my daily driver, Honda, and the Honda dealership has better services. I will never get another Genesis until they are serious about their customer experiences, reliability, and invest in a separate dealership, not the currently Hyundai/Genesis setup. BTW, I have less issues with my 20-30+ weekend classic cars in of term of reliability! Also, the advertised Genesis Valet Service (sales gimmick) is a joke, their schedule is always several weeks away and mostly show up with a lower model vehicle as a loaner if you use it. Hence, they always recommended us to drop the vehicle ourselves to the dealership.

Car is everything they say, luxury, great handling, power ect… Service is non existent. If you have a service problem they don’t have enough Genisis service centers to handle the needs. Our G80 air conditioner went out , middle of June, the dealer can’t get us in until middle of July, yes that’s over a month with no air conditioning. Our car has 30k miles on it, I regret not paying more for the BMW or Mercedes, more expensive however more service facilities. So Genisis is a great car with no service available.

The looks, the fit and finish, the interior details are excellent, but the autopilot is out of this world!! Valet Service is outstanding, excellent, extraordinaire.. 4WD great, suspension great, brakes great, rims brake dust: none!! My rims were not getting black, cleaning them was so easy.. massage seats great, leather quality great, engine great, MPG good. Paint quality excellent. Best car I ever own for every day, I got almost my investment back after 17000 miles, traded for a Tesla X plaid..
