I live in the Pacific NW and could not find any dealers that stocked the Transit Wagon with the running gear that I desired. I found the vehicle that I wanted on line in Chicago. Because I was purchasing from out of state I was denied the discounts that the dealer was advertising. I flew to Chicago, took delivery and proceeded to drive home to Seattle. On one of the rest stops, I parked on level ground and when I was ready to go, I found the transmission was stuck in park even though I was pressing on the brake. I got out the owners manual and on page 136 it states that I can pry up the shift cover and lift a white lever to clear the stuck in park condition. I had no tools so I used my fingers to lift the cover but the plastic top came off in stead. Now what? I shut off the engine and restarted it, that cleared the stuck in park condition. Once I got back to Seattle, I went to my local Ford dealer and reported the problem. They informed me that I broke the cover so that is not covered by Ford warranty. My next problem happened when I was camping in the mountains. I started the engine, plugged in my cell phone to charge, got out, closed the door with the engine running and the Ford Transit locked all the doors. Fortunately another Ford owner was in the area and was able to contact Ford Roadside assistance for me...it took several hours for their Locksmith to show up. Apparently Ford did not include error codes for these kinds of problems so we are pretty much on our own. Frankly I am afraid to use this Ford for what I purchased it for... to travel around the country. I gave upon the Ford and purchased another Toyota Sienna. A month after I purchased the Sienna I received a recall notice from Ford. Ford had neglected to install a seal between the engine compartment and the electronics. Ford said that they dried off the electrons section and installed the seal. They felt that this should solve the problems. I sold the Ford Transit. I lost $19,000. Ford saturated the market with used Fort Transit wagons here in the Pacific NW driving the value way down. Since the local Ford dealer refused to even look at the Transit's problems I had no paper trail to seek relieve through the Lemon Laws.

Transit 350 Med Roof with 3.5 Ecoboost

I have had this van for 5 months now - The Good: Tons of room inside Lots of seats, 12- to 15 -A/C and Heat, Front and Rear will keep you warm or hot -Good Radio for a factory System -Great view when driving -Love to stand up and walk to back of van -Great gas mileage for a giant box -Ecoboost engine has plenty of power -Smooth 6 speed transmission -Good ride quality The so so: -The side door opens great, but to close it you must have another door or window down, otherwise the interior pressure will not allow the door to completely close - the seats are just okay, they are a little strange in the back, they tried to divide the seats with humps and bumps, should have been a flat seat like to the old E350. The Bad: -No one at Ford ever drive the van because their is no where to put your left foot down on the drivers side -The back up camera is great, but the screen in the van is so small you can't make anything out, in fact it is dangerous it is so small The (passenger compartment- ie Ford where people and their stuff go) has a battery under the drivers front seat when their is plenty of room in the engine bay -Under the passenger front seat is a blower motor, that can be loud when on high, again lots of space in the engine compartment, or under the van for that matter -They forgot about the jack, so they just stuck it against the back side wall sitting in the open, again lots of room to put it in the engine bay or under the van, just cheap and lazy Ford - Ford Sync is a nightmare, some things you push the buttons on the dash, some you can talk to it, some switches are on the steering wheel, Sync doesn't understand any variations - only exact words, you can't say bluetooth, you have to say bluetooth audio. You can't say send a vehicle report, you have to say "send a vehicle health report" Like an old DOS programmer from the 70's designed this system.

After owning this van since 2015 I can say it is by far the fastest van I have ever driven, too fast, I have the ecoboost with 3.31 rear gear, but everything else is terrible, have had to replace 2 broken speed sensor rings just outside of warranty, Thanks Ford! seats are the worst I have ever sat in, little to no padding, no up and down adjustment options, the tires are crap after 20K and cannot be swapped with anything larger, slips around like a small car in the snow, never had these problems before in 25 years of driving vans, replaced drive shaft at 30K Miles??? the windows are so large and low on the side you can see the drivers pants, its like sitting in a fishbowl. I wish I could get my money back and go back to my old van, the 2 extra miles per gallon and ridiculous speed are not worth it. (blew the doors off a BMW race car yo yo) he must have been shocked. So if you want the fastest, most uncomfortable, fishbowl in the world, this van is for you. also, no more putting the bucket upside down between the seats for that 3rd person to come with, it wont fit anymore. they built a better motor in a worse truck, WTF!

Storage is little to none in the 15 passenger. A backup camera is highly recommended. Privacy glass is also nice to have because everyone looks in your windows. Drives great. Fits in most parking spaces but sometimes hangs out a little. Width fits perfectly though. Arm rests could use more padding.
