Used 1999 Ford Taurus Consumer Reviews
Great Car, Great Depreciation!
We bought this car new 4 years ago and it currently has 80,600 miles on the odometer. The car has been exceptional! With the DOHC engine, it really moves when you want it to. The lumbar seat with leather are so comfortable on trips.Gas mileage is acceptable at 28- 30 mpg. Only repairs we needed were to have newbrake pads. The big drawback is that the depreciation is extreme.
A great car for the price.
While the styling is controversial, I love it. The 200 hp engine gives plenty of pep. Handling is very good for a family sedan. The bucket seats are comfortable, and there is ample room in the rear. The trunk is also roomy. After three years and 33,000 miles, I had only one very minor problem.
Great Car!! For the money that is.
I bought the car in 12/2000 with 16,000 on it. Has all the features except leather. It has been great for me so far. I do agree with others that the Duratec engine performs well, but is quite noisy, especially at full throttle. Tranny could use some improvements in the decision making process. It seems to not know when to shift or shift to early. Oh well, it's not a rich man's car, so waht do we expect? I'm at 39,000 now, so we'll see what the future brings.

very nice car for trips or just around town. 33 mile to the gallon on trips 25 just driving around town. love this car, I would buy another ford wagon.
Very poor choice
I have nothing but major and minor problems with this car. Not to mention that it has no good resale value. I have had to replace numerous things such as: power steering pump, abs sensors, trans mission, engiene and front struts are now going out. And on and on if I had more time....:(
