Used 2019 Ford Ranger Crew Cab Consumer Reviews
KILLER DRIVE TRAIN & TECH, NEEDS SHOCK REPLACED
This is a great truck, with lots of power, a quiet cabin, plenty of head- and leg-room, cutting-edge tech options in the Lariat model, and a terrific sound system (also in Lariat only). My only complaint was with with stock shocks, which yielded a rough and bouncy ride. However, Ford now offers a Ford-branded Fox two-inch leveling kit, which improves the approach and crossover angles, elevates the cabin, and smooths out the ride, which is now controlled and comfortable in ordinary driving. So, yeah, great truck, but remember that you may have to kick another c. 2,000 bucks to cure the Ranger "bounce."

Nice truck, just not for me
I am not a truck owner, but have driven several. I rented a Ford Ranger XLT 4WD Crew Cab for a recent trip from NY to VA and back. I drove the truck for 3 days straight. First impression - this is a nice looking truck! The step-in is high, as expected. I found it difficult to comfortably step up and in smoothly, without banging my head. This would be annoying to deal with all of the time. The driver seat is comfortable, but hard to adjust. The seat is height adjustable, but I left it down. The back is very awkward to adjust and to get it just right. Maybe the power version is better? The side mirror controls are on the dash. You have to lean forward and left to reach them, so it could take several tries to get the mirrors right. Bad design. I started it up and the engine has a pop pop pop sound, sort of like a boxer engine on a Subaru. Driving off, the engine noise is loud and the truck really bobs and weaves and sways back and forth, especially on rough pavement. The movement subsides and the engine quiets down as you move along. But, a few times I felt a little car sick for a second. The engine has great low end torque and really take off. 10 speed transmission always shifted smoothly. Visibility is excellent, with a commanding view of the road. Headlights are good, and they include auto high beams - good feature. Radio is OK but the screen is tiny. Easy enough to pair with my iPhone, but I missed the Apple CarPlay. Lots of buttons on the center stack can be confusing. I tried to fold the rear seat but couldn't figure it out. Should be easier, like the Honda Ridgeline. Cruise control worked very well, although adaptive cruise would have been awesome. Highway handling could be a lot tighter. I found myself drifting alot. Around town, this truck handles like a much smaller car. I was shocked at how tight it can turn into a parking spot. Overall, this is a nice truck. I would want the power seats, adaptive cruise, better entertainment system, and a cargo cover. That's probably $40K+, so I don't see that happening. For someone that is used to a pickup as a daily driver, and need towing capacity, and under 6' tall, this is probably a good choice.

Ranger Base Camp
I was able to get the opportunity to go to the 2019 Ranger Base Camp and was able to truly experience what Ford is trying to accomplish. They told us that this is going to be a much different truck than the F-150. While the F-150 & SuperDuty's are meant for towing and working, the Ranger is after adventure. It has better ground clearance than the Tacoma or Colorado. All three of these vehicle were designed to go off road, allowing you to get to the ATV/Fishing spots that you wouldn't normally being able to get to, while at the same time allowing the opportunity to tow. However towing is not its primary motive. Towing was put into thought, but again that is what the F-150/SuperDuty's are more designed for. What makes the Ranger a better choice than the Tacoma and Colorado? Under the Tacoma the exhaust is positioned right under the under carriage allowing any rocks or debree to actually take out your exhaust... The Rangers exhaust is in a safe location not in harms way. The Colorado has a Skid Plate that is only bolted onto one side allowing for you to peel it open like a tuna can if you get stuck on a rock and need to go into reverse. The Ranger Has Actual Skid Plates protecting the Engine and under carriage. Everything completely bolted down and not in harms way. The Trail Control on the Rangers is also 10x's better than the Tacoma's Crawl Control. The trail control actually feels like the truck is understanding and working the terrain while the Crawl Control is just pumping the brakes and gas. Ford also has tons of tech that they incorporating and are leading in. Very soon you will be able to control any Ford Vehicle with a Modem to track, lock & remote start any where in the world right from your apple watch. The only Con that I was able to find was that they should have made a front/360 camera available for off roading like they do in the Raptors, Explorers, F-150's etc. Very Excited to see these hit the roads and have the opportunity selling them. [non-permissible content removed]. Hope this help! Again, not primarily a towing vehicle but adventure ready is the idea.

I love my Ranger!
The Ford Ranger has always been a super awesome smaller sized "pick up" truck. I had a 2002 Edge for nearly 15 years and I was so excited to hear they are finally available again. This '19 Ranger STX puts my '02 to shame (though I would accept her back any day and regret giving her up). Okay, enough reminiscing. The size of the backseat is perfect and so much more useable that the Supercabs pop seats. The power is much better, especially for a 4 cylinder engine. It is towing ready and still with a full sized spare. Overall I am super impressed and excited.... only 300 miles in, I look forward to many years of happy driving.

Ranger Redux
Nice mid-sized pickup, very good handling & excellent acceleration, kind of lousy mileage so far, only 17MPG but in fairness, initial trip was towing a small trailer. Have owned it since December, great towing capability. Kind of cheap interior, tiny video screen, won't connect to FordPass no matter how many times I try. Very roomy however, family over 6' tall fit in back seat very comfortably. Easier to park & drive than a full-sized pickup, but bed is obviously smaller and won't handle as much cargo. Overall good, solid option in a pickup.
