Great truck!
I bought my 2019 Ranger XLT FX4 crew cab in December of 2019. It's got 44,000 miles on it now, and I still love it. It pulled a big UHaul trailer when we moved and handled it like a champ. When we worked a trail marathon and had to get out into the brush in the Texas Hill Country, my Ranger handled the rocks and hills in 4WD like it was nothing. OEM tires still have plenty of wear left on them, and I have not had any breakdowns to speak of. I have kept up to date with oil changes and tire rotations. My plan is to give this truck to my daughter for college (she loves driving it), and get me an F150 or a Ranger Raptor when they come out. I wouldn't trade my Ranger for any other midsize pickup on the market. Update 12/21/2024 Stull running smoothly. Had a minor issue with the HVAC where driver’s side only blew hot air. Extended warranty came in useful there, but I still would t trade it for any other mid-size truck on the market, including the Taco. My son bought a Ranger after borrowing mine for an off-road trip in the mountains, and my daughter wants me to get a new one so she can have mine. I don’t care what the “experts” say, Ford Ranger is the best mid-sized truck out there. Love mine!

72000 miles, some things to love, others to hate
I bought this truck as one of the first owners. Initially I absolutely loved the ride was smooth, acceleration great, cornered like a car on rails and comfortable to drive. I started noticing if I was under 2000rpm and tapped the gas pedal it would act like it was in the wrong gear...lagging, surging, frustrating in a parking lot. I have taken two multi day drives during the summer. On real hot days the air conditioner would quit after a few hours causing you to shut it off for an hour or two, then when you turned it back on it would be fine the rest of the day. On both long drives, the check engine light would come on turned out the EGR valve needed replacing. Changing the oil is also an adventure as the oil filter is behind the drivers side front wheel. Overall without these issues I would keep it till the wheels fell off.
Really trying to like this truck
The Ranger replaces my ol trusty 1998 Dodge Dakota long bed. The Ranger certainly has upgraded features compared to the Dakota but that's about it. What I like: Shore is a purdy thing. What I don't like is: Truck is very high off the ground. Effort to get in/out of truck. Effort to put things in bed with the tailgate up. Engine seems to always race when it's cold. Very bouncy ride, the least little bump telegraphs thru and make it seem that you're on a roller coaster ride. Very mediocre gas mileage. I'm getting around 20 MPG average according to the gizmo gauge. Lots and lots of screens on the infotainment screen. Close proximately warnings kick in way to early. Bed is very very short compared to the Dakota. Not sure what I"ll do with it. I'm tryin real real hard to like it but can't really.

Best vehicle I’ve ever owned
I love my Ranger. It’s the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. My last vehicles in order were a Forester, MDX, SportTrac and Silverado. It rides like a dream going 70 down a dirt road. It handles great and rides great. I hardly notice when I’m towing my boat. The seats are super comfortable, even the back seats. And it beautiful. I drive a hot pepper red xlt and it gets complimented all the time. It great in snow and has been great off road. I don’t go rocking of missing, but I drive some nasty Michigan two track roads. This truck is very capable, and it’s smaller size gets you places larger trucks can’t go.
