I have 217,000 miles on my Fusion. It has been extremely low cost to maintain and has been fantastic and reliable throughout my ownership of the vehicle. It's been spark plugs, oil changes, and transmission fluid changes primarily. I replaced the TPS sensor at 50,000 miles and it hasn't given me trouble since. I replaced the canister purge valve at 180,000 miles for $17. Can't ask for more comfortable daily driver. Fantastic car. Would recommend to anyone looking for inexpensive comfort and reliabilty. I purchased this car used back in 2016 as my first car to make payments on. Over the 4+ years of ownership, I put a good amount of miles on this car and also delivered with it for 3 years. The overall reliability of the car was alright. I never had any major problems with the engine or transmission but I had quite a few electrical issues. One of my window switches went out, the backup speaker blew out, the radio amplifier had issues and the sunroof stopped working properly. Nothing major but all very annoying. The car itself was always fun to drive but with the larger engine and increased horsepower the gas mileage suffered. I believe I averaged 19 when delivering and later 24 when driving mostly highway. I the sport package looks sharp but it’s probably better to just go with the SEL trim. Still a V6 so it has decent power and the gas mileage is better. Parts would also be more common as well. I bent a rim on this car and it was a pain to get a factory rim since they only made the sport trim and wheels for a couple years. Overall I did really like this car up until the electrical issues seemed to keep popping up

My son has a 2010 Ford Fusion with less than 100,000 miles on it and the power steering went out on it WHILE HE WAS DRIVING IT!!! After some research I discovered that this was a major problem with this year model and found numerous reports of this same thing happening all over. I have contacted Ford Corp, NHTSA & the FTC and filed complaints with all three but have yet to get cooperation from Ford on the $2400 repair bill. I was advised that there is an open ongoing investigation into the 2010 Fusion about these power steering issues but no recall has been issued at this time even though the 2011Fusion has been recalled for the same problem and has the same power steering parts as the 2010???? I sincerely hope Ford Corp will do the right thing and recall these vehicles before someone gets hurt. A reimbursement for the repair bill that nobody would take responsibility for would be nice as well. Be aware and be careful!

6-speed automatic failed with 14,000 miles. Ford would not "replace" the transmission - just took two weeks to gut the offending transmission, and now it is loud and makes me doubt the car. Not where we want to be. I feel that the car is a safety hazard in the Washington, DC metro area traffic.

I purchased my 2010 fusion 3/2010. I really liked the car I never really own anything else other than a Ford. And after having this fusion am not sure if there is another Ford that I would like to own @ this time. I am having the same problems as for so many other 2010 Ford fusion owners. I wish I was for warned about the major transmission problems that is going on with the fusion. I have had to take my car back several times for the same thing. And needless to say my car is in the shop for a new transmission. This is so discouraging especially when a car note becomes due. Since my loan is threw Ford motor is there anyway to stop payments if you don't have the car?
