Should be a bestseller
Two generations ago Ford Fusion was basically a modernized K Car. It was solid, but boring. Last gen featured the curvy new Aston Martin design. Big step up, comfortable, nice ride, Sync and Sync 2 was a disaster. With this latest refresh and Sync 3 they really nailed it. There are so many thoughtful touches like the door unlocks by touching the handle and there are lights underneath the side view mirrors so that you can see where you are stepping out. The ride is Lexus quiet, and I would argue the powertrain is smoother. With the Energi you guve up trunk space, so if this is your only car, it probably won't work for you. But as a second car or commuter car, it's pretty perfect. You only get about 14-20 miles per charge but that's still good enough for around town driving before the engine kicks in. With holiday incentives and the fed credit it came out the same price as the standard hybrid model, so I went with this for the extra gas savings. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Very Impressive! Great style, comfort, gas mileage
The only disadvantage is from lack of cargo space in the luggage compartment. I have a 20 mile commute to work. I use the hybrid mode to work and electric from work as there is no place to plug it in at work. I filled the tank up for 25 dollars and two weeks later I still have just under three quarters of a tank of petro left. The interior is awesome! Quite, comfortable, loaded with extras. Much nicer than any other hybrid on the market and the full electric mode is great! I just wish it would have had a little longer life span than 20 miles per charge. Other than that, I am very happy with my Ford Energi. I am averaging right around 50 mpg. Very nice for the money!

Great value for the comfortable ride
The not so good: The instrument control of ford vehicle was well known that it is overly complicated and not intuitive. I considerably have to use more touch actions to get the same thing done compared to other vehicles. The trunk space is of course a big drag for the ratings. The good: The ride is considerably more comfortable than the competitors. The value is relative since the out of door price varies. My price was very good. The green element is limited due to 20 miles of electric range. But this is still the best in this segment. Overall, I choose not to pay high price of a TESLA, not to sacrifice ride comfort with a chevy volt. Fusion Energi also has a "low profile" life style appearance compared to either TESLA or Volt.

Wonderful car very reliable
4/17/22 almost 110,000 miles of carefree service. No issues to report. Still looks great, and runs great. And I will still hold on to it a while longer. 10-17-21 now approaching 100,000 miles, and still trouble free. Only oil changes and 2 air filters. This is a great car. Still averaging over 85 mpg. And still as quiet as ever. (I still miss a trunk, and often wonder if I should have went with the CMAX energi) but that doesnt matter since ford axed that car also. Looks like I will hang on to my fusion for a few more years to let this whole pandemic fueled price inflation calm down. Over 89,000 miles today, and all of them trouble free. Still achieving 86 mpg, a bit lower but I am driving 5 miles further to work. (About 29 miles one way. )But back to the review. The car is doing fine. This car still presents like a new car. I still wish that Ford would reconsider their plan to stop building cars. Maybe with the renewed concern for the environment Ford will reconsider their "all truck" construction plan. I have to believe there are other consumers, like me that like to have a passenger car, and have no need for a gas thirsty SUV. Car is paid off and owes me nothing. I am strongly considering an all electric to replace this car with, just waiting for them to become more available in my area. (Florida) I still like my Fusion Energi way better then I liked my Prius. Going on 65000 trouble free miles. I still love this car. Way more luxury then my old Prius, and still over 85 mpg Great car, extremely quiet ride. Very well done interior design. I bought this car, mostly because I felt that I could not afford to buy a Prius Prime. Being a Ford, I could find a slightly used one, and get a great deal. I could hardly find a prime, and if I did it was across the country, and cost "new" price. I am glad that I did but the Fusion. This car is very luxurious, way more then the upscale Prime. Real leather seating, not like the Enviroplastic synthetic leather found in the Prime. Great radio! And one other benefit worth noting, people do not automatically have a distaste for you, or blow their horn at you if you are going less then 20 miles per hour over the speed limit. (this happened often in my Prius) To be honest, either car is a great car, we still own the Prius, it is driving my son to college, with only 145000 miles I feel that he will probably own it through out his whole 4 years. But if you are looking for a great plug-in alternative, with twice the luxury, for less price, then Fusion Energi is your car. I charge the car at home, and they allow us to charge free at work. Currently I am averaging 160 mpg. I fill up about once a month, when I get down to 1/4 of a tank. (my ride to work is about 33 miles, so I burn gas for about 7 miles each way.) And we also use it when ever the family goes out. So far it has been perfect. I am only slightly unhappy at Ford, because I just heard that they may discontinue production of this car in the US. I cant help but wonder why, when they seem to have hit a home run with this.

Amazing MPGE
I bought my 2016 Ford Fusion Energi this March 22, 2016, and could not be more pleased. It is good looking, comfortable, good handling and I get great mileage. My car was filled up at the dealership when I bought it and I did not put any gas in it until my birthday three months later on June 22! I did NOT need gas since it registered three-quarters full but I was curious about my mileage. Nearly all of my driving is in town within the 19-mile electric range which, so far has proven fairly accurate. When I filled up on June 22, I had driven 716 miles and it took exactly 5.138 gallons to fill it up! Again, my driving allows me to use it in electric mode nearly 100% of the time, I only drive it in hybrid mode when I visit my son (28-mile round trip), my daughter (22-mile round trip), or any trip over the electric mode limit which is not often. I do wish ford would place the battery system between the frame like Tesla to allow more trunk space and I agree that the Mytouch system takes a while to learn, but those are my only points of concern. At my electric rate, I calculate I may spend around $8 per month to charge the car but I have been unable to detect a change in my bill. UPDATE AFTER 10,335 MILES I still love the Fusion very much but I do have a couple of wishes after having driven the car for two years. The first would require a complete car redesign as it relates to trunk space. This is not a huge issue but is noteworthy if you purchase larger items when shopping. The trunk space is marginalized because of the space needed by the placement of the chargeable battery pack in the trunk area. This limits trunk space. This could be fixed by placing the battery between the frame like Tesla but require a complete re-design. Our 2018 Camry hybrid offers more trunk space, but then it only averages 30 to 34 mpg per fill-up. Note, this is nowhere near the claimed mpg. Yes, I have read the test reports but, unlike our Fusion, our Camry Hybrid rarely if ever gets the claimed mileage. My only other concern about my Fusion Energi is the range when in electric or EV mode. My EV mode range dropped this Fall to about six miles on a full charge I went to two dealerships and they told me everything was good. After two years and 10,000 miles, I knew it was not. After contacting Ford about my concern, I was advised to take it back to my dealership for another look. After this last visit, my car is much better and is closer to normal. To end on a positive note, I found another feature that Ford has that Camry and others do not. That is, all 4 doors can be opened OR locked without having to access your key fob. This is VERY handy when you approach the car with your hands full of shopping bags and can not get to your keys easily.
