Used 2015 Ford Focus Sedan Consumer Reviews
Transmission Shuddering
Had the clutch replaced under warranty at 8,000 miles, 20,000 miles, and 70,000 miles. The problem was shuddering in low gears. Was bought back by Ford through class action law suit. Would not recommend gambling on this car hoping to not have a problem. Not worth it.

SHOP AROUND BEFORE YOU BUY
Sadly, I didn't read the reviews before I bought this car. The transmission is horrible and I'm told that's the way it is. First and last Ford product I will buy. It's been in the shop twice already and I've only owned it for 8 months. Air condition module had to be replaced and a fuse was blown in addition to all the transmission issues. Stay away from this car!

BAD IDEA.
Don't do it. No matter what they say, just don't. I got the 2015 with the promise that the issues were fixed in the newer models. Bought it in march of 2016 and it started having issues very soon after. Shuddered when accelerating after a stop. Took it to the shop and it had to have it's clutch replaced at 25,000 miles. Found out when getting it repaired that it was actually already replaced one time at 15,000 miles! So it's on it's 3rd clutch and it only has 29,000 miles on it. A few weeks later I had it back in the shop for an issue with a joint on the axel. BOTH problems should not be happening with a newer model car. I bought the 2015 hoping for a dependable car that I could have for years considering I had to get a six year loan. THANKFULLY I just got it traded in for a fusion. Not worth all of the trouble. The maintenance guys at Ford never gave me and issues about fixing it though. Doesn't hold it's value and is a pain to trade in. Transmission is a HUGE problem with this car. If you're reading this, LISTEN TO THESE REVIEWS AND DONT GET THIS CAR. There are plenty of other options in the same price range.

One week in
Just read the elderly gentlemans review from march and felt compelled to respond. I'm one week in owning a 2015 Focus SE Hatch. This is my second Focus. Had a 2012 that I traded in on the current one. Here's what was explained to me about the transmission by service and sales;it's actually a manual transmission that has 2 clutches. The chattering sensation is the clutches engaging against the flywheel and is normal. If you've ever driven a manual pedal clutch car not all but most make a similar chatter. Now when I say chatter this is very subtle and I test drove two 2015's and they both did it. My 2012 also did it and had 76,000 on trade with no tranny problems.
Still love it after 7 years and 176,000 miles
STILL Love this car after 176,000 miles. Primary goal was to get a vehicle that got great mileage. I wasn't aware that Focus got this kind of superb mileage (42 mpg commuting) until I started researching. LOVE this car. Backup camera, Bluetooth, SYNC hands-free and a really nice sounding radio. I'm a very large man and I fit into this car very easily. I drive an hour each way to work and am not cramped up and tired afterward like I was in a Nissan Altima. Very happy I found the 2015 Focus. Still loving this choice after driving over 176,000 miles. I have the six speed automatic trans that folks complain about. Not an issue for me, nothing to complain about with the Focus at all so far.
