Used 2002 Ford Focus Consumer Reviews
Small Price = Good Buy
I bought my ZX3 7 years ago at age 16 and have only encountered one problem with it besides regular maintainence. At 36K, the front half-shafts went bad, but since they were replaced, it's been smooth sailing. I have made many engine modifications, as well as bigger wheels and a lower suspension, and the car has been fantastic. This vehicle is really worth the money.
I've had worse
I bought it new in 02. I have always been impressed with the handling of this car, it really is top notch. It's been pretty reliable too. The trunk release was the first thing to go at about 30,000 mi. Second, the alternator went just over 50,000 miles. The hood release also broke off in my hand. Acceleration is not the greatest but it is adequate with the 5 speed. I have average 22-24 mpg mostly city driving with ac on. Not bad for real world numbers. The clutch has lasted for 86,000 miles. I have not had any major problems yet and I'm not that good at regular maintenance. I can fit lots of stuff in this car and I like the fact that it stays dry (no pick up truck for me).

Good Car but Noisy
The car rides very well for a small car. The handling is great. Lots of room for a small car. Fuel econonmy is okay wish it had a little more get up and go at the start...seems a little sluggish at the start sometimes. Overall a good car for the price. The only really bad thing is the road noise, especially over coarse pavement. It's so loud one can't carry a conversation without really speaking loud.
Fabulous Quality!
fantastic! this car has been perfect and i couldn't have asked for anything better! the performance is absolutely wonderful!
Fast, Fun And Praticle
I bought the Focus as my first new car back in Feburary 2002. After two cross country road trips, and a 50 mile a day commute, I must say that this car has performed like a champ. My gas mileage is typically between 30 and 34, and on the longer highway only trips can hit 38. The handling of this car is amazing, and corners better than any sports car I've driven before. The comfort is above average, but you can get a bit sore after more than 5 or 6 hours in the car. All in all, if I had to do it all over, I'd still choose the Focus.
