Sync / Nav Issues
I will drive all over the state, entertain clients and move equipment cases of about 40-60 pounds each. The fold flat seats are great except that after only 15,000 miles I noticed that the carpet surface of the cargo floor is wearing out. My dealer is replacing this surface. The bigger issue is the Nav system. It only holds 50 names in the address book. This seems to be great example of very old technology my previous $200 Garmin could hold thousands of address. I use my car as a mobile office and visit new clients all the time, now my sync nav cannot hold any new addresses. Syncs built in calendar is useless to keep appointments as you can not enter any data. Sync is not very hi tech.

Fantastic Flex
Drives like a dream, so roomy and comfortable. I love the unique body style and so do a lot of other people. My Flex gets a lot of attention. I can hardly wait to take it on vacation.
I got a lemon
I've had my Flex 5 mo. and it has 4,600 mi on it. I've had nothing but problems from day one. It's been in the shop 3xs. The speakers do Morse code, the dash board squeaks but most importantly, the transmission slips around 3xs a week. I've taken it to 2 dealerships and so far they can't duplicate the issues. The turning radius is horrible! I have to do a lot of 3 points when back out of parking spots. The gas mileage stays at 17 mi/hr no matter if I'm driving fwys or streets. It did not get better after the "break in" period. There is no access to the 3rd row with 2 car seats. I have to have passengers crawl in from the back. I plan on contacting a lawyer.
Overall Satisfied with some reservations
We bought our Flex SEL AWD in fall of 2011 with 22K miles on it. Mainly because my wife really liked the look and I needed to replace an aging Suburban. Got the AWD because we like to take winter trips to the mountains and we would drive down to AZ from OR at Christmas or Thanksgiving... Pros: Very roomy, AWD handles like a sports car, especially in dicey road conditions, comfortable seating position, decent fuel mileage for its size. Cons: poor quality stock brakes. Replaced with upgraded rotors and pads at 42K miles. Have 106K miles on it now and brakes are still good. Have replaced the passenger side climate control door actuator 5 times....not sure why they keep going bad...design flaw. at 88K miles had to have the seal replace on the PTU (Known issue) Started leaking again recently and just had a whole new upgraded unit put in at my local shop for $1200 total. Even with these issues, it has still been a far more reliable vehicle and any of the suburbans I have owned. I drive a 2016 F150 ecoboost and had to have the bottom end and the timing chain done at 87K. The non turbo charged engine in my flex is plenty powerful enough for the vehicle and is much more reliable than the boosted version, especially according to my mechanic. We plan on keeping it for another 50K miles or so. Then I'll have to look around for a reliable replacement. not looking forward to that at all.....
