Minor details can lead to major headaches.
Bought a 2020 Ecoboost 2.7 litre Super Crew XLT Sport new from dealership last September. Approx. 2 months later we drove our first rear passenger only to find he couldn't open the rear door unless I pressed the unlock button on the drivers door. 2 trips to dealership only resulted in no fix..annoying so if I park the truck and shut engine off and leave vehicle, rear passenger cannot get out. #2- GPS navigation is horrible. It fails to find businesses by name..doesn't recognize towns by name..chooses long directions with zig zagging through subdivisions. #3- You cannot lock in your drive modes.such as eco or sport. Each time you start the truck you have to scroll through drive modes to select eco.

Capable, good ride and economy
Spent some time behind the wheel of my father's 2019 Lariat. Really liked it. I was driving a 2017 Explorer Limited with the standard 3.5L V6 and 4WD. The new truck does actually ride quieter and smoother than the Explorer (both having 20" wheels). I always had a bit of a grumble with the Explorer's ride after a few weeks of owning it, but it always checked out as mechanically fine. I drove another one and it was similar, so it was what it was. I heard more road and engine noise. I do miss the front camera, as this truck does not have the Tech package, but that wasn't a deal breaker. The truck has the 2.7L Ecoboost, and it pulls hard off the line, it pulls the 4000 lb boat/trailer easily. The Tow package is nice, even checking that your trailer lights work. Gas Mileage has been ~22 mpg, driving my daily commute to work. The Explorer was 20.5. If you have really tall passengers in the rear, with the sunroof, their heads may touch the headliner. Up front it's not an issue for me (6'7"). Luckily no one riding in the rear in my family is that tall, so all is well (folks up to 6'2"). Something to check if you want the roof. Standard running board steps on the Lariat are decent. The PVD wheels do require an extra buff after a wash, but worth it cause they shine nicely. Like the Camel colored interior, something different than black. The vented seats up front are good, better than the Explorer, I actually feel them. I think the Lariat was the best combo of options, a mostly luxury interior and I like all the chrome. Winter will be interesting to see, with the A4WD and Wrangler AT tires. The Explorer did get good marks for the winter ride with a set of decent tires on it. I'll update if things change at all.

Ford F-150 XLT 4x4
I still own my 1998 Ford Ranger 2x2. 240k miles and still kicking. Sadly the Ranger is too old to travel up and down the east coast so we finally sprang for the 2020 F-150. We got the base model with 3.3 Liter base engine. Plenty of power for someone who only occasionally tows a small boat. The engine is amazingly quiet at idle. Gas mileage is not great. 18 around town and 21 Highway. The ride is nice on the highway. Great long distance vehicle. We got the extended cab 2 door/ clamshell with 6 1/2 ft bed. I can see why this truck is #1. Great all around vehicle. Hauls and drives nice. Interior fit and finish needs improvement. However it looks like interior will last a long time. Lots of plastic that doesn't fit together well. Dashboard has warped a little. Otherwise truck is built well. Love the touch screen and Apple Play. Great Truck!

My 2020 F 150
The trim below doesn't have my truck. It's an XLT regular cab 4WD 6.5 ft with a 5.0 engine. I bought the same truck last summer for my wife. And except for the color .Bed lights and the LED light's on the side view mirrors and tonneau cover. it's the same truck. I liked her' so much I wanted one for myself. I have a 2015 Lariat 2WD that I don't drive in the winter. So I'm looking forward to 4WD. And I like my 5.0 Motors. No 6 cylinder's for me. The only thing Edmunds doesn't show the 5'0 motor. all my f 150s have the 5.0. That is the only motor i would ever have.

Wish I didn't have to spend $1000 afterwards...
Love the truckm, better than I thought it would be. But what I don't like is having to spend another $1000 in aftermarket accessories that really should have been standard with the truck to begin with. Yes, you can have the dealer add them on, but the dealer charge is excessive on those items. Like they used to sell pickup trucks without rear bumpers... They were an optional add-on... not kidding! Ford should have included basic versions of these (with an option to replace them with fancier styles): Bed liner (My cost after vehicle purchase: $600) Running boards/nerf bars/step bars - whatever you want to call them (My cost after vehicle purchase: $300) Rear wheel well liners (My cost after vehicle purchase: $100) Tailgate shock (My cost after vehicle purchase: $15) Organizing tray for center console (I mean, what use is a cavernous 1.4 cubic foot black hole?) (My cost after vehicle purchase: $20) Otherwise, great truck!
