2017 Plat w/63k miles - History and Current Status
This truck was purchased new. It had the standard 3/36k mile warranty and I've purchased 2 ESP (extended warranty's) since the original expired. Currently am good-to-go through 2/2029 or 104k miles, First off.. I love the truck. As with most truck owners I corrected the flaws that the truck came with (sloppy suspension - Installed Fox2.0 coil-overs; Brakes - Installed power stop rotors/pads; catch-can, etc.).. To date these are the mechanical items that required correcting via Ford... 1 Water pump at 14k miles, 2 oil pan replacements at 47k and 48k, and 1 radiator replacement at 56k; Currently I'm awaiting a 4-6 week backordered front differential rebuild kit that will be covered by my current warranty. I am a little disappointed in the issues I've had but overall I'm a fan of this truck. A few VERY key items that every owner should be religious about: Do NOT follow Fords recommended service intervals. Change your oil every 3-5k miles with a high quality synthetic (recommend Pennzoil Platinum), replace all other fluids (diffs/brake/tranny) every 30-40k miles. My biggest gripe is that only 1 of the 5 Ford service centers in the Atlanta area is dependable. It's also scary that the wait times and quantity of vehicles at the service centers is crazy. I've heard the line "Please drop the car off on Wednesday but we won't be able to work on it until sometime later the following week" from multiple dealerships. That level of customer service, coupled with the fact that a new F150 of the same level of the one I purchased in 2017 on average costs 52% more than I paid. The fact is that no other truck manufacturer is much more different than ford from a quality and pricing perspective today. BTW Model tab did not have an option for Platinum 5.5' 3.5.. just 5.0

What Happened
I've owned a Ford truck for a number of years now. I purchased a new 2017 F150 XL. Two wheel drive with the 2.7 ecoboost. The mileage is good. I pull a 19' travel trailer. 3005 pounds empty. It pulls the camper quite easily. The issue I've had was 3 oil pan leaks, a rear main seal leak, 2 fuel injectors replaced, lug nuts needed to be replaced because of swelling that can make it impossible to remove a tire. Some electronic sensor that told me to check engine. Many of these were covered under a warranty. The latest one that concerns me was a brake line leak and one that was bulging and getting ready to break. I take my truck in every 5000 miles and have it inspected and do what is recommended. Since this is a 2 wheel drive and I don't take it off road it concerns me that this could happen. I've contacted ford and was told it's not part of a recall. I wonder if this could be happening to anyone else. The Mechanic at ford had no reason why this should of happened and my towing my camper should have no impact since it's around half the limit that the book says I can tow. I like Ford F150's but just concerned about the safety. Other Fords have some kind of recall on the brake lines, I wonder if they need to look into this before someone gets hurt or killed. As I write this there was no model XL SuperCab with a 6.5 box and a 2.7 ecoboost so I picked the closest one to it.

First and Last Ford F150
This is my first and last F150. 2015-2017 F150s have a bad air intake manifold and Ford gave up on trying to fix it. Not only did they give up, they won't admit it. They put a stop sale on the part. The dealership has had over $500 of mine for 5 months and still can't tell me when they'll be making the part again. Now I'm stuck with a dog of a truck that can't pass on the highway, it's not timing correctly at higher rpms, with a constant check engine light. I will need to upgrade to an aftermarket system, and spend thousands more for an air intake manifold, an aftermarket cold air intake, moving a coolent line and paying for a custom tune. The dealerships won't perform the aftermarket fix because of the custom tune needed. This very comon, almost certain, issue with the 5.0l will cost you $2,500 in aftermarket parts and labor and Ford doesn't care to fix it.

What a beast of a truck
Bought this truck used..2017 Ford f150 XLT. Its fully loaded with 302A package which dang near makes it almost a lariat. I have the 3.5 ecoboost which is AMAZING. I pull a 34ft camper that weighs 6,100 lbs dry. ( and yes i am under all payload and hitch weight capacities) I have 0 issues and when i step on the gas on hills it pulls the trailer with power to spare. The inside has TONS of room. My family of 5 are very comfortable traveling around.
Looks awesome....always broke
Oil leak after oil leak....

Difference between Silverado and Ford F150
Let me first say that I'm not a truck guy. I rented a car in Orlando and was given a Silverado for 2 weeks. I throughly enjoyed the truck. The instrumentation was simple to figure out and the rearview camera was huge. The ride was very comfortable and the front seats were very roomy although the backseat space was too tight. Parking is difficult due to the size. A week later I was given a Ford F150 for a week. WOW what a difference! The Ford was cheap feeling and looking inside. It took a masters degree to figure out the instrumentation. The back up camera was minuscule and useless. The truck was easier to maneuver then the Silverado and the backseat room was huge. Even with these pluses it the Silverado features and ride far out weight the Ford F150.

Water leaks into the cab and the transmission sqwa
There are leak issues with the sat antenna and rear brake light, and the 6 spd transmission when paired with the 5.0 v8. The common transmission "squak" can be heard when shifting from 6 to 3 or 5 to 3.
Amazing Vehicle
I waited 15 years to get my Ford F-150 and it was worth the wait! This truck is amazing and is worth the price! Germain Ford is a great place to purchase a vehicle and their personnel are outstanding! A year later and I couldn’t be more pleased with my truck! Germain Ford is definitely the best dealership for shopping (new and used vehicles)! This truck makes owning a truck so fantastic!

Fine Ford
Did not like limited view when changing lanes. Much better on my three Chevy trucks. However, that is the only minus and the excellent ride on the highway more than makes up for that.

Almost 80,000 miles and overall incredible
Almost 80,000 miles and overall incredible. Ford made another great truck with this one. Granted there were some issues with the cam phasers (Ford covered under warranty) and some slip with the new 10 speed (Between 3rd and 4th gear, also covered under warranty), it's over been great. It's been in -30 degree winters in Idaho, and 125 degree summers in Arizona, and handled all like a charm. Would buy again.

First Ford letdown
All issues within first 5 years. Blown turbo. Other turbo rattles. Rough shifting. Peeling paint. Dashboard center speaker blown or weird white noise. Center screen doesnt work about 5% of the time and requires a reset. Rear defroster on driver side doesnt work. $50k + truck and its been one issue after another. Only have 28k miles on it…

It’s fine
I like the ability to start the Raptor remotely. It is a hard vehicle to park and is squirrelly on wet pavement, but great off-road. Ford service is a bit pedestrian. A lot of recalls.
Great truck!
Eco boost was a pleasant surprise. Plenty of power, decent gas mileage. Love the STX package!

Amazing Pickup
The Ford F150 that I purchased from Germain Ford is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned! It is not only an amazing truck but I bought it at an outstanding dealership! I have traded this truck in for a 2021 Ford F150 (at Germain's) and wow what a great truck! As always Germain is an outstanding dealership and I have no regrets in dealing with them!

Shop Time
This truck has spent more time in the shop then all of my prior trucks combined. The dealer I'd telling me the truck, at 6 years old, is so rusty they can't work on it. What garbage.
