F150 Made me smile

Excellent Truck! I have had almost every model of Ford beginning with the Tempo. I traded a 2004 Ranger for this '05 F150 and haven't looked back. Excellent cargo space, solid construction and virtually no road noise while driving it offroad or on. My only issue is that the 5.4L engine will wreck a gas tank quick. With prices as outrageous as they are, you will be looking at a $50+ tank close to once a week.

HUGE Disappointment!

This truck is a huge disappointment. With all the hype, I just can't see it. The engine runs like crud. It won't idle. The gas mileage is horrible. It has the power but there is no throttle response. CPU programming they tell me. Then fix it! The drive by wire was a mistake. Ford used to have the best cruise control in the business. Now, because of the lack of throttle response, there is a significant lag. The air conditioning is only cool, not cold! Again they say CPU programming. Also, I'd like to shoot the guy that thought up the deeper bed. You can't reach into it. They seem to be trying to phase out the SuperCab longbed and shortbeds are useless so they make deeper beds instead.

I've been a Mercedes-Benz and Honda guy for more than 10 years, but I was in the market for a low budget full-size pickup truck. The leasing incentives offered by Ford drew me into the dealership, but in the end I'm also thrilled with the product. It's incredibly comfortable, quiet and easy to drive. What's more, I was surprised with the fuel economy, as I logged 17.2 mpg on only the second tank of driving. I wouldn't put much faith in other Ford products, but it's pretty obvious the F-150 is the company's crown jewel, and I will consider another when this lease ends.

Simply stated this is the best truck on the market, bar none. The new interior design is truly outstanding. The 2004 F150 Lariat is a great truck to drive.

I compared to Dodge and Chevy and found there to be no comparison. Most interior space and best fuel economy, Ford had made the best truck since 2003 and continues to do so. The interior is huge and has a fabulous design. The only thing i would change is the way the doors open. It drives great and is extremely mechanically sound. I would strongly suggest this truck to anyone looking for one.
