I have owned 3 F-150's in 5 years. All have been flareside, single cab manual transmission. They are a great no-nonsense, good looking truck. They have served me well performance wise in light to medium work use (with the ocassional heavy duty job thrown in). I have never had any reliability issues with any of the trucks. I also love it's classic good looks and clean lines.

I bought this truck used in 2004 with 75 miles. It just turn over 370,000 on my trip to the OUTBANKS N.C ( July 19 2021 ) FROM PA. V-6-- 5 SPEED replaced clutch twice - always changed oil -did routine tune up etc. Radio still works but can't set stations or use the balance feature anymore. No rust anywhere on this truck including the undercarriage. This truck still runs great. I am a FORD man and always will be.

3rd F-150

I have owned 3 Ford F-150s and I have loved every one of them. I down-graded this time to a standard truck. First gear is lousy but 2nd will talk me to 57mph before I shift into 3rd. Of course I want the governor off this one also. It kicks in before I can shift out of 3rd. I doubt the top end will be off that much from my last truck, the Nascar version F-150. 175mph, now, 150mph?? I beat every vehicle I have ever owned, the F-150 hold up to me.

Mine has 40k miles when I bought it, now has almost 45k, it looks almost new, never driven in snow. If buying look underneath for rust, radiator supports rust out in rust belt, mine has none. Enjoy driving the 4.2 and gets decent gas mileage. Love this truck.

supprised that shortwheelbase rides as good as it does. Power seems to be strong for a 6 cyl. 3.55 ratio may help here.all and all good truck for the price.
