Strong and Reliable

My family has been having this car for 25 years, they got it off the lot when it came out. It has always been a work truck towing heavy and hauling, we use it when we need extra trucks to carry more out. and even with the years the interior is doing fantastic, the engine is like new. Weve overloaded it a few times but it doesnt care, the transmission still shifts seamlessly. the paint is not in the best condition but as long as the functionality of the truck is the same who really cares. the truck has been recently passed down to me, and i instantly fell in love with it i started to restore the old thing im curently painting it. Now wit 300,000+ miles on it the only thing replaced was regular like oils, tires, breaks, etc... and the water pump it the only "major thing" that had to be replaced, everything else is 25 years old and original. not alot of rust on the bottom but just for preventative measures i did sand and coat it with black anti rust paint. so far the longest lasting vehicle ive owned

I truly plan to keep my Explorer

I plan to keep my Explorer until the most expensive thing that can go wrong, goes wrong. I have only had 1 small part replaced since I bought it in 2002. I cannot imagine driving a car again. I am spoiled. It has over 110,000 miles on it and I have had no major repairs, only wear and tear items. Yes it gets 15 - 16 miles per gallon, but when you are not making payments that quite a savings.

This is a comfortable, good riding, easy handling car with plenty of cargo space. We kept this car to use for our road trips, because it rides better than our new 2016 car! THIS CAR HAS BEEN SOLD!

Disappointed

When Ford came out with the new (2nd. generation) 1996 Explorer I thought it was the sweetest looking truck out there. In 2000 I came across the same truck in the Eddie Bauer trim which made it even sweeter. To my disappointment for the past year and a half even with the extended warranty I have done nothing but dump more money into this truck than I've ever had in any other vehicles I've owned. In addition to the reliability issues I've had with this truck is the lack of and no support I got from the area Ford Dealerships. Even with items they should've repaired at inceptions they did there best to ignore me.

What can go wrong on my Explorer has. I have had 3 transmissions. The inside is falling apart and the foil aluminum is coming off of my bumper and the thing is noisy.
