needed a new engine in 79000 miles

This car has a known design flaw that causes coolant to leak into a cylinder ( the #3 is the most common) leading to cracking the block and requiring a new engine. My new repair also uncovered a turbocharger that was filled with oil and needed to be replaced. Total bill was just under $8900. Not under warranty, but was a recall item on earlier models in the US and UK. Guess what, ford hadn't fixed the problem, they just added a sensor to let you know that the coolant was low, so you would know that the engine would be dying soon. Nothing you could do to fix it. I guess it was just so you could save up for the inevitable engine transplant. Now to add insult to injury, my HID headlight equipped Titanium model needs a headlight replaced which ford instructs in the manual to bring to the dealer, and not to attempt on you own. Evidently you need to remove the bumper cover to remove the headlight assembly. A two hour repair at $125/ hour and they want to sell you the bulb for $189 -- EACH! I would certainly never purchase another Ecoboost engine powered vehicle from these people. I would probably avoid a supercharged powerplant as well, since I have been told by the service people that they design their cars to save weigh and I was instructed to be careful to not over torque the sparkplugs or I could strip the threads. I guess it is just lucky the engine lasted as long as it did. I still have 30 months on the warranty on the new engine-- does anyone want this turd? Update on the escape after the engine transplant: the new engine is still running without fault, but I have only driven it 6000 miles. Fingers crossed!?!

I bought a 2015 Ford Escape it has been a terrible experience. Despite doing basic oil changes the engine needed to be replaced not once but twice! The second time Ford would not honor their warranty despite it being under the mileage. I also had to replace the transmission. I will never buy another Ford again and would strongly discourage anyone from buying from them! FORD- Fix or repair daily!

This was my first new car. Drove it right off the lot and I’ve had nothing but issues with it. Had to replace the engine after less than 80,000 miles. Power steering has gone out Bluetooth has gone out it has been nothing but issues in a money pit. Coolant leaking into the engine, oil leaks, you name it. Can’t wait to get rid of this POS!!!

Great Towing package

I was replacing a small sedan. Because it was time. I shopped around quite extensively. Driving the wife crazy. Test everything in the category Subaru Forester was to bouncy of a ride. I have a truck and I did not want a suv that rode like one. I was impressed with the Subaru outback, but with the v6 it was rated at less towing capacity than my 2.0 Titanium AWD. And Subaru would not budge off the price so in the end I brought the 2.0 T Titanium, in Tuxedo Black Metallic . The zip this turbo kicks out will blow you back in the seats. One of my only troubles I had was an oil leak at the PTU. And the toe enable rear tailgate. ( that sometimes would not close and lock) it turned out to be a faulty bar support that was mounted at the assembly plant. They were both replaced under warranty. The floor space is a bit tight. But The drivers seat was fully adjustable and I found the sweet spot. I am 6`3

Didn't really care for the car at first but really has grown on me. Foot lift gate sensing is worth the money. I do not care for the height of the accelerator pedal compared to the brake-shouldn't have to lift my entire leg to make the motion to stop. Dealer said it couldn't be adjusted.
