Used 2004 Ford Escape Consumer Reviews
Ford Escape
This is a great little SUV, it does a an outstanding job and is fun to drive. Easy to get around with and good in bad weather.
Fun and sporty
I had been driving an Expedition for 6 years..and previously a Tahoe...went to the escape for fuel economy purposes...had some reservations because of the room i was giving up to drive this car...but in the end...all the other features..and the fact that i save on gas...outweighed the size... Lots of fun to drive, great in the snow, and handles terrific in bad weather...passed a Liberty Jeep on the way home from upstate ny and it was in a ditch..mine stayed on the road..with very slippery conditions....very reliable.

Great SUV
Owned it for almost a year and 60000km (37000 miles) with absolutely no problems to report. Great 4wd in snow. Unless you are very short, don't waste your money on side bars - all they do is get your pants dirty when you enter/exit the vehicle. My best fuel mileage has been 29mpg (imperial gallons) on the a long highway trip with cruise control at approx 65 mph. This vehicle has outstanding performance with the 200hp v6 duratec. I would recommend this vehicle.
love it! the best fun car every
my mom and i both have one. i have the newer model which 2004 and she has a 2001. there the best car. there so comfy and sleek. the sound system is really good. the gas could be better but its an suv so it wont really be great. all i can say is that its the best.
Pretty Cool SUV
I just bought a Ford Escape after renting one on a recent business trip. I had been interested in them for a bit and my rental of one sold the deal. Plenty of power in the V6 model! Able to pass with ease even loaded down. We just took it on an extended trip to go skiing and got 19- 20 MPG. I'm 6'1" and have plenty of leg room. One problem.. The owners manual says to not drive an AWD/4WD with only chains in the front and it also says you can't put chains on the rear if you have the larger tires. We put the chains on the rear and there isn't enough room in the wheel well around the larger tire. The chains cut the ABS wire.
