17' Edge Titanium has been quite different from driving an old car! All the features, electronic steering, and for me fwd that did good in 5in of snow. Really like voice commands, electronic steering, ambient lighting, 10 way seat adj, relaxing noise cancelling system, reclining heated rear seats and the sound system is good-clear bass. Sharp body, comfy suspension, the list is long. It's a sweet SUV.

Had to replace the engine

Due to an engineering default we had to have our engine replaced. The dealer said that it is so common that they stock the engine. We felt that this was the fault of Ford not our fault but Ford was only willing to Pay 60% of the cost so it cost us a little over $2000. Needless to say the have lost a life long customer.

2017 Ford Edge Sport Two Year Review

2017 Ford Edge Sport 4dr SUV AWD (2.7L 6cyl Turbo 6A)

Update: July 10, 2019 Continued excellent performance after nearly 3 years. No problems or maintenance issues, technology like blind spot monitoring, 360 degree cameras, adaptive cruise control, have made the SUV very safe to drive. No plans to change anytime soon. I compared many SUV's in this class including luxury Mercedes GLC 300 and Audi Q5 and equipped as the Edge Sport would be well over $50K. Looked closely at the new VW Tiguan and Atlas and felt both were underpowered compared with the Edge Sport. After one year I have not had any problems, just normal maintenance oil change, fuel economy in the city has been 17 and on the highway 25 mpg, so for the power of the 2.7L Turbo V6 this seems very good, I would expect better mileage with the new transmission in the 2018, engine runs perfectly on regular gas and I see no change if I switch to higher octane. I negotiated a reasonable deal with Ford dealer and kept the SUV fully equipped around $42K not including tax and fees. I had no trade in and pre-approved credit from USAA, so that also helped keep price down. Update: Jan 10, 2019: Nearly two years later and Ford Edge Sport still operating perfectly, only maintenance has been oil changes. Mileage has improved and power remains excellent. SYNC infotainment has maintained online updates over available wifi, so all information is current. Very satisfied, expect to own this SUV for a long time. Update: Jan 13 2020 No problems, Edge continues to perform perfectly. Had to replace dead battery, but it was totally covered by warranty. Update: Jan 14 2021 Edge is operating perfectly, no issues, good mileage from 2.7L twin turbo 6, difficult to see any necessity to consider a new vehicle unless electric becomes more affordable and practical. Update: July 15 2021 Continued excellent performance, comparing to other vehicles technology is still competitive. Probably change to hybrid or electric in a year. Update: Jan 15, 2022 Absolutely no problems, still good as new, will probably trade in for new Maverick truck. Trade in value is still high. Update: July 18, 2022 No issues, extended warranty has expired, still waiting for 2022 Maverick order delivery.

Test drove them all

I had a VW TDI and knew VW was going to be buying my VW back so I had many months to shop for the perfect car for me. I test drove them all numerous times and each time I came back to the Ford Edge. I wanted a vehicle that was sturdy on the road, solid when you closed the door and quite on the road....and it needed to have plenty of power. That is what the Ford Edge gave me! Because this care was so smooth on the road and luxurious inside, I decided to go with a black color since it made me feel like I was riding in a sedan made to drive a world leader. I look forward to driving this car everyday!

This vehicle has been the worst purchase of my life. At 40k I had an engine replacement. Now at 90k I need a new engine replacement. Very dangerous vehicle to be inside. Barely Moves!!! Car goes into a reduced power mode due to engine coolant temps. Now they want me to pay $7800. There should be a recall!!!
