Have been driving this two years and love the car. Only have two minor complaints: First is the rear window is a dirt/dust magnet. I find myself wiping the window daily. Second is my left knee rubs against to door in a awkward spot and it gets pretty sore after long trips. Other than that, I'm very pleased. Smooth, quiet ride, great acceleration, spacious and comfortable.

decent looking car inside and out, awful mileage

was looking for another suv as a second vehicle (main vehicle for road trips is a Palisade) and after weeks of looking I decided on a 2017 ford edge sport. It's relatively new, the awd sport model and came with the 402a package along with cold weather package. original msrp was almost $50k and had 25k miles. buying from carvana it was $31k before trade in (of a corolla) tax, etc. I was excited to get a relatively new suv with all the bells and whistles. I bought a ford c-max hybrid from carmax about a year ago and i loved it. the only reason i returned it was because it did not have apple carplay (2016 MY) and even switching out the usb hub with a newer one did not allow carplay and that was a must have. I enjoyed the edge while the engine was off. In person the cabin was a bit more cramped than I thought it would be and the lack of a digital speedometer (while everything else on the dash was digital) was annoying but not the worst thing in the world. I appreciated the buttons to control almost everything (hvac, where the air blows either front, feet or defrost, was a button i couldnt find except in the infotainment) and ventilated and heated seat were nice. I liked the panoramic roof but realized quickly that i didn't need it and would rarely use it in the summer months (if at all) where i live in the desert. The backseat was a lot more spacious than the front seats and the recline of the back seats was a nice distance. The infotainment probably needed an update. Frankly I like sync 3 but the maps were extremely old and i dont think have been updated since the car came out of the factory. its not a huge deal since i like apple maps but i like it when companies consistently update their software and maps. All the little bells and whistles are nice but other than maybe the heated and cooled seats and heated steering wheel, i dont know how much i would use things like the "kick under the car to open the hatch" but i guess its nice if its there. now to the reason i returned the car almost immediately. Thankfully carvana offers returns unlike traditional dealers otherwise i would be stuck with this car and didn't get what i ultimately purchased. The gas mileage on this vehicle is absurd. It has an 18 gallon fuel tank and in 100 miles of around the town driving half the tank was gone. I don't know if it was this specific vehicle or the ford edge sport of this year in general, but the mpg was atrocious. I drive like a grandma and only wanted the v6 twin turbo for potential towing but apparently its a gas hog. I do kind of think it was the specific vehicle as there were a lot of clicking noises after I turned the engine off after driving. I'm not mechanical in any way but in my opinion a vehicle with 25k miles shouldn't have any issues, especially clicking noises and terrible mpg (supposed to be 24 or so highway which is what i drive 95% of the time and it ended up being about 10-12 mpg) so it went back to carvana. I ended up going with a '22 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport Touring. I know i know, completely different vehicles, but after seeing the mpg on the edge I wanted something with 30+ mpg and already at 1k miles in the civic I have seen between 32-35 real world mpg and I can carry quite a bit for being a civic. I just moved a big chair in it (bigger than a kitchen chair, more like a recliner size type chair) and couldn't believe it fit. I guess having an edge for a day made me realize I would be okay with the Palisade for bigger items and road trips and the civic for around the town driving or driving long distances alone.
