1996 Ford E-150 XLT Club Wagon 3dr Van

Ownership of this vehicle has been quite frustrating. * New ball joints right away * New brakes every year or so * New tires every 18 mo * New air conditioning system * "Check engine" light always on * "ABS brakes" light sometimes on * Stalls upon backing, despite $1000 spent to try to fix After talking to folks, I realize the customization package overloads the chassis. It is just to heavy and this causes the problems. Never to buy Ford again.

Best Features

Huge interior, can haul all the kids and stuff we need. TV/VCR is great! Have slept on the fold-down bed many times.

Worst Features

Too numerous to mention

The Brakes & Tires are a matter of quality application & driving habits not the Van Manufacture! The E150 will have most tire shops quote you a lighter ply tire but with the extra weight a 8- 10 ply will last much longer & handle the weight. There are lifetime brake pads for every vehicle if you burn through them in a year even living in the mountains try letting off the gas earlier an not riding the brakes.
