Used 2018 FIAT 500X SUV Consumer Reviews
Hot
What I love. Well just look at the car! So stylish. I had been driving a 2013 Subaru Crosstrek. I love that this is even a little more compact and that there are so few on the road. Performance probably not as good. Subaru AWD can't be beat, and the Subaru flat 4 has a lower center of gravity. Ground clearance on the 500X is same as Crosstrek, very good. Seats ride higher on the 500X even though the heights of the vehicles are the same, so better road visibility. 5'11" or taller is a problem in the back if you have the moonroof. Acceleration is about the same (Fiat has more HP but more weight). Gas mileage (25 combined) is one less than the Crosstrek. Cabin noise is much better in the 500X. Rear visibility better in the 500X (I had to remove the rear headrests in the Crosstrek). Professional reviews complain about the 9-speed struggling to find the right gear, I haven't noticed a thing. Most importantly, did I mention how hot this thing is? Ow! Love it! (Cons: no cargo cover (though it's only a small gap between the back seats and the trunk), auto dim mirror on top model only, limited Fiat accessories, gas mileage should be better.)

Great Car
Car is great overall, the trunk space is very limited so a roof rack is essential on any trips. I live in nyc and get decent gas mileage I’d say about 22 mpg in the city and about 30 on highway depending on driving style. I use premium gas (Costco) the interior is modest nothing to brag about but Also modern so you have touch screen and apple and android pass through. The awd is great in the snow and rain. And the car has power not acceleration but it can go fast with great control. Its very conspicuous I’ve had the car 3 years and haven’t been pulled over once, and I do my fair share of speeding. One thing I’ve notice is the head light aren’t very bright and the car is bulb specific, so if you don’t put the correct bulb the dash will say the lights out even though it isn’t. You need the correct bulbs any shop can order them just those auto stores don’t carry them but give you options that will work but that dash light will be on. Great overall car. Will definitely keep.

Love Fiat
I've had this SUV for about 2 years now. I got it pretty new from a used car lot 2018 with only 10,000 miles on it. Unfortunately mine had the current oil burning W80 recall on it and it took about 8 months to just get the part in. I just got that repaired. I had to trade in from a 2016 Abarth, only because the dealership did not have the right tool to reset a certain part that affected the speed. (this is in DFW) Unfortunately, the Fiat-Romero in my area closed down and even trying to get to the nearest one which is in Arlington is a bit of a hassle. But I love my Fiat. And I am happy it's running perfect again. The W80 recall consists of fixing the Long Take Block engine and affects Fiat Trekking's 500X 2012 to 2019. So if your Trekking is burning Fuel at a inconsistently high rate, take it to the nearest Jeep-Dodge-Chrysler-Fiat Dealership. They will need to do a fuel consumption test. You will have to keep refilling the oil about 2.4L every 3k until the new long take block engine comes in. (https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10187101-9999.pdf)
