Article missed the mark. Abarth owners don't buy this car for the vanilla conveniences of an ordinarily car. Engine drone??? This is Carl Abarth's signature exhaust sound. Fast no, quick yes, and you'll be hard pressed to find a better deal for track performance off the floor. This is an Italian car enthusiast's entry level dream. The Fiat 500 racing heritage transferred well to this modern Cinquecento, Ciao!

Edmunds probably forgot to push the SPORT button and also release the handbrake. We had 3 Abarth and if mine is highly modified and VERY quick (or "slightly" fast), my wife's stock Abarth is a lot of fun and absolutely not slow! The car is fun on any roads, canyon drives are a blast and gas mileage, if not the best in its class, is absolutely reasonable. You cannot get a new one any longer, but if you are looking for a fun car to drive every day, you can get a manual Abarth for under $6,000 now...

Fiat Abarth: an angry hornet

First, don’t believe the Edmunds review. The Abarth will be one of the funnest cars you will ever drive. It is not super quick, but it feels super quick and has a very solid suspension. At 6.9 seconds to 60 is .6 seconds faster to 60 than the base Mini Cooper, a second slower that the S. The base 500 is just .5 seconds slower to 60 than the base Cooper and at 8 seconds is faster than most of this segment. In fact, I can’t find a faster subcompact that doesn’t have an upgraded engine. The Abarth drives like an angry hornet. Geezus but it’s a riot in sport mode. Reliability has been terrific. And I see a 2019 Fiat Pop I can get for $14,500 right now. So for the money, this would be a nice ride, and it doesn’t feel cheap and flimsy.

This car is a blast driven at its limits which you can't do with other cars. There is no skill to going fast in a straight line and wrapping your V6 camry around a tree. But keeping up momentum in a balanced car is why a good driver in a Miata crushes guys that guy out and buy Porsches and think power = skill. It is a driver's car.

Hell of fun car (Fiat 500 Abarth)

While most cars are just dull and boring. This car (Fiat 500 Abarth) isn't that at all. It's just pure joy. Also, what no car reviewer tells you cause they never really own the car. You start waving at other Abarth's and before covid-19, small car meets and canyon runs. You're basiclly part of the Fiat family. And if you're worried about reliability. The key is good maintenance. Do the work your self or have trusted local shop.

Abarth "Not a Fun Car to Drive? Must be crazy

Ive owned a BMW 530I, BMW 325ci, Infiniti J35, Infiniti FX35, Acura integra, and Honda Civic in my glorious life. None of these cars are as fun as the ABARTH sitting in the parking lot at work right now. Maybe the guy who wrote the review needs a automatic that costs 70k to consider things "fun" Perhaps he has peer pressure to make him a hater? Perhaps he just dumped a whole bunch of money into a civic and he needs to feel his money went to the right place. All I have to say is that hes dead wrong! Just the cars face=fun If Mario brother could own a car in real life it would be an Abarth=Fun The Turbo has a slight lag so it feels like turbo boost of how you imagined it as a kid would be=fun The Turbo gauge in itself=fun The metal racing pedals including the tight racing clutch ....Yup again... Fun! The regular fiat shifter=not fun its a long shift. not good. The Abarth shifter is short and tight=Fun Your wife hates it and cant drive clutch.= FUUUNN! The cars sports suspension bounces you around like a BB in a beer can= Fun If you like driving a car fast around sharp turns on a mountainside like your riding on the scrambler at the county fair Abarth is it= FUN The racing seats feel good and keep you feeling safe=FUN It feels like your going warp 10 when your only going 60=fun If your idea of being 12 years old again riding a minibike in your bathingsuit in the summer rain is fun, then this is for you. Edmunds has no idea what they are talking about

I’ve had a Mini Cooper S, and it handled great and was quick (I won winter autocross at road america and the car was bone stock). However, I think the Abarth motor is much stronger and has far better options/prices for aftermarket mods. The low end torque from the little 1.4 is hilarious and the TTC (abarth’s version of an lsd diff) is surprisingly grippy and reminds me of what the Golf Gti uses for their front diff. The Mini Cooper has a better rear suspension being that it is independent, where as the abarth is a torsion bar (easy as hell to slide, so that’s cool lol), but with some seat time and suspension work in any car you can be just as fast or faster. The Abarth isn’t FAST, but it is definitely quick and full of life with pops, bangs and growls from the amazing exhaust tones. So it’s not a car for everyone, and it takes a little bit of seat time to really find the speed in one. But but i sold my Mini… I still got the Abarth. [non-permissible content removed]
