This vehicle performed out of the ordinary and was extremely fun to drive. It was a powerful gas guzzler. And not very comfortable due to it's performance.

MAKE SURE YOU INSPECT THE CAR

My Viper is a Hennessy Venom 500 and was inspected by Road Ready Inspections of Phoenix, AZ. After the car was delivered, my mechanic informed me it would cost nearly $5000 to repair all of the items left OUT of the Road Ready inspection report. The vehicle inspection report was falsified, fraudulent and inaccurate. Road Ready will not guarantee any of their inspections. The only guarantee they make is to take your money and provide a report that isn't worth the paper it's written on. All the Vipers I looked at had leaking head gaskets and radiator issues, so when I found one that passed inspection, I purchased it. Turns out, this vehicle also had failed head gaskets, a rotten and rusted radiator, no working sound system, a shift lever that was NOT connected to the transmission and rusted bolts and washers. If there is a lesson to learn, the first one is don't ever hire Road Ready Inspections. You'll never know if the report is true or false as they won't stand behind the inspection results....good or bad. Second, ALL Gen 1 Vipers leak from the head gasket. It's a manufacturing issue. They used the wrong gaskets, so in less then 20,000 they start to leak coolant. Just plan on replacing all the upper gaskets. When purchased. I replaced all the upper gaskets, radiator and hoses, exhaust manifold with headers, painted/sealed the undercarriage with anti rust paint, replaced the cold air intake, and changed ALL the fluids. The work has not been completed, but I did drive it about 100 miles before taking it to my mechanic for a real inspection and fix. Once the car is complete, it will essentially be a new car as it has only 10,000 original miles. I'll have the racing stripes done and have it detailed. There should be no other major issues according the MY expert. I look forward to driving it on nice days.

Without a doubt one of the most fun cars ever built to drive. The interior ans options are cheap and basic, but you are too busy having fun to notice anything else besides the road.

You should learn how to drive before you buy a viper. It can easily get away from anyone. The best car I ever owned, it's truly affordable for the average Joe. I call mine the poor man's Lamborghini, and I rether have a dodge viper anyway because it's so reliable. I'll never will have another corvette again, I'm so in love with this car and the crazy thing is I had it going on 4 years. I never had a car for that long.

Still a show-stopper after 10 years

After wanting one since I first laid eyes on it at age 12, I finally picked up my own last year. It's hard to imagine that simply buying a car can change your life, but own one of these for a little while and all of the sudden, the first question out of everyone's mouth is "did you bring the Viper? How's the Viper doing? Have the Viper out this weekend?" The performance is outrageous. Creature comforts are severely lacking, but you should have known that going in. This car isn't for everybody, but if you're a true muscle car enthusiast, it all makes perfect sense.
