Used 2004 Dodge Ram Pickup 2500 4dr Quad Cab SLT 4WD SB (5.7L 8cyl 5M) Consumer Reviews
Hemi 3/4 ton quad cab swb
This truck is a blast to drive, very quiet and smooth, yet 345 horses under your foot to call on any time you need it. I love the 5 speed automatic and hemi combination. I got 17.6 mpg on the first highway miles trip I drove it on. I'm looking forward to pulling a camp trailer with it when the weather warms up. I can't understand why anyone would buy a Ford or Chevy when they can get a truck like this. There is no comparison.
2500 HD w/Cummins
I compared Chevy, Ford and Dodge before I bought... Simply put: Dodge = more for your money. The Cummins Turbo Diesel is quiet, powerful and fuel-efficient. The ride is firm, yet comfortable. I took my Ram to show to a friend who bought the Chevy Duramax. He drove down the road, came back and said he wished he'd bought a Dodge! That's quite a testimonial coming from a lifetime Chevrolet diehard! Everyone is impressed with the quiet & powerful Cummins engine. I haul a heavy work trailer and you can barely tell it's there! I had a Dodge Dakota, then a Chevy and now this Dodge Ram. I am truly a Dodge fan now! Thanks for a great truck at a great price!

So far so good
I've owned 11 vehicles in my life, most of them purchased new, and I can honestly say this is the happiest I've ever been overall with a vehicle. The list of issues I've had with this truck is short - I had a leaking coolant hose which I fixed with a 75 cent hose clamp. That's it in over 36K miles. I'm averaging 17.5 mpg (hand calculated) over the life of the truck. It tows well, can accomodate 5 people decently (though not for extra long trips), and is fairly comfortable. I intend to keep this a long time, unless the new 6.7 Cummins with the 6 spd. automatic tranny is just too good to pass up. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. Oh - I also got this $5K below a comparable Ford.
'04 Dodge
This is my second Dodge pick up. Same body style, so I do like it. I am suprised at how stable I feel driving down the road with trailer load of 6,000 lbs or more
Cummins Review
I traded up from a 2001 GMC Z-71 to my 2004 Ram 2500 4X4 w/ the cummins. Best decision I have made. Family members have owned total of 3 Diesels and 2 1500 gas. I tow a 7500 lb boat and don't even know it's there. Only complaint is a weak stereo system.
