10 Days Experiance Rental in California Mountians

Recently rented a 2015 Journey LTD with V-6 for a 10 day vacation to the Sierra Nevada area of California; Sequoia/Yosemite/Tahoe. Traveled one-half of the trip on inter-state or four-lane highways and the other on winding mountain roads with 35 MPH speed limits and grades of 6 to 12%. In total, we traveled 1,301 miles and averaged 21.02 MPG. The car was slightly over-powered on the freeway and slightly under-powered in the mountains; no complaints. Shifting was smooth and concise. The seating was very comfortable. Handling was better than expected; almost a good as a sedan. Overall, pleasantly surprised. I drive a Toyota now, and would seriously considered - depending upon the reliability rating.

We purchased a 2015 Dodge Journey with only 13 miles in less than 24hrs the vehicle shut down on us 3x it has been in for service 3x with the problem happening more than 10x even while on the highway with my children in the vehicle. The dealership refused to trade it out!! Even if we were within our 30day warranty 2,500 miles warranty period!!! I would NOT recommend this vehicle to anyone!!!! Now there is 4 other Dodge journey in for service for the same problem as mine!!! So discussed with the service at Dodge Larry H. Miller in Avondale, AZ.

Diappointed gear whine/whistle noise at 65-70 mph. Like an old schoolbus. Have driven rentals before without this noise. Maybe just the late 2015's? Switched supplier? Would have otherwise been great car. Update: got a case number from Chrysler, turns out it was bad transfer gears which they replaced under warranty. Sooo much better. Thank you All Star Dodge. I should have bought it from your instead of Royal Gate.

I purchased the 2015 Dodge Journey new. it has everything on it you could possibly want. First, the positives..... great DVD player, super-secret hiding spots, 3-row seating is just fine for a 10-year-old. it comes with 2 Bluetooth headphones. the GPS is great! gives you everything you need and is super easy to use. The screen is VERY large, largest i've ever seen. Now for the rest..... At 20,000 miles my brakes went out- not under warranty then my battery- no warranty next my starter, then alternator- you guessed it- not under warranty. all happened between 20,000 and 24,000 miles. my local dealership said "oh, well" after calling corporate headquarters I basically got the same answer. That coupled with the great 14 MPG highway miles I decided to cut my losses and get rid of the worse mistake I've ever made in buying a can (and i've owned many) Just a warning!

Journey Crossroad - Excellent Bang for Your Buck

After reading this review I do not know what Edmunds is speaking about. I own the Journey Crossroad AWD 6 Cylinder and I love it. I have to say it was not my first choice. I am a Buick girl but couldn't afford the Buick I wanted. I had rented a Journey twice on business trips and thought it drove great hence why I bought. I think it's a great value, looks great, drives great. I only have 20K in years but I have not had any issues. Just basic maintenance at this point. The third row is not great for a family of (5) that needs the third row all the time. My kids are all big now but since that is not used as our primary family car it only gets used when I unexpectedly have to pick up other peoples kid. The car handles great, it is very sensitive and reacts on a dime. Gas Mileage is good. I hope this car will give me 10 years!
