2005 Chrysler T&C
Love my Chrysler T&C. Replaced a Dodge Caravan and they just keep getting better. Particuarly pleased with the 22 MPG overall and 26 MPG on the highway. Also love the Stow & Go seating which my Dodge didn't have. No complaints and no problems. Great car!
Chrysler still leads in Minivans
Traded in my 300m after 4yrs which was never taken back to dealer for anything. Intended to buy another 300, but the 7M off on the Town & Country Signature series changed our mind. We've had it for 6mths and just love this vehicle. No problems of any kind yet. The ride is great. Bumps are muted. Handling is good and long trips are not tiring at all. The seats are very comfortable. Mileage is excellent, getting 27mpg highway, 22mpg average for the rest of our driving. Stow & Go seating was a master stroke. Also great for storage or just keeping something out of sight. Navigation is very accurate and easy to use once you get it figured out. It's a bit user unfriendly till you do.

We like it !!
My wife and I were looking for something to replace (because of gas milege) a 2001 Dodge Durango. We looked at some other mini vans. WE had never owned a small van and the only other van we had owned was a full sized Voager back in the 80s.We enjoy the room for 7, because of grandkids. The MPG is comparable to the the imports (if you can get their owners to tell the truth). I have traveled on several trips here in Texas and I have got 25 to 26 MPG (once with five adult passengers). We thought that we would never own a "soccer moms car" but we do and we really enjoy it.
2005 Town and Country Touring Edition
Bought touring version; leather, luxury package, DVD system, B/U assist, etc. Driven for 3 weeks now. Love the ride and interior features. Sto-N-Go seats are great and easy to use. Already used them with a large package. Got the rebates and employee pricing and another dealer $400 off, so sticker price of $34,500 was a $28,500 price for me. Fit and finish were excellent. No delivery issues at all. Mileage to date is fair with engine not at peak yet. Averaged 19.5 mpg in combined city/highway. Pure highway delivers 22.0 - 23.5 depending on wind. Only complaint was lousy OEM Turanza EL42 tires, poor treadwear, poor wet traction. Swapped to Turanza LS-Ts and love them, big difference.
Best minivan so far
This is our fourth chrysler minivan and it is the best. It is quieter, more comfortable than any other and the stow and go seats are nothing short of terrific. Fuel economy has been a bit of a disappointment, but otherwise an excellent vehicle.
An elegant piece of farm machinery
Bought new July 14, 2005. Has luxury, leather and trailer tow groups. My third Chrysler Corp. minivan in 13 years. In four months I have put only 1600 miles on it - over a quarter of which has been trips to the dealer - because I simply can't stand to listen to it any more than I HAVE to! This car has the most fiendish collection of noises (transmission, a/c compressor, exhaust, suspension, etc.) and the harshest, noisiest ride I have yet encountered in a passenger car in over 50 years of driving experience. I am trying now to get DC to eat the cost of a replacement. DC has finally admitted it knows it has a problem, but doesn't know when - or even if - a fix will be found.
Very Impressed!
Love the fold flat seats. Finish quality is great - leather is very nice. Considered Sienna, Odyssey and T&C. Overall, liked the interior the best of all.
Average minivan
It makes the job done hauling people and cargo. Stow n Go is a nice feature. Ride is smooth and handling is very good for a minivan.
Shocked!
I purchased my 2005 T&C vehicle to replace a 2001 Chrysler Concorde. First, my dealer is the absolute best! I trust no one else! It's the van I no longer trust. Today was the second time I was stranded because the darned thing didn't want to start. I've had a module that controls all electrical functions replaced, and am now awaiting the electrical line for the power cargo door on the driver's side. After shopping and having to get home, I tried starting my van and it was DEAD! I called for a tow truck and in the meantime, tried to start my vehicle after 10 minutes. First two times it wouldn't start; third time it fired up. Still had tow operator take to dealer! Not thrilled with this!!
Evaluation
I have spent $250 in repairs in the last 40,000 miles. That is darn good reliability. This has been an excellent vehicle. Friends with Honda's and Toyota's have not had better quality or reliability.
Poor Qa control
Upon delivery the van had a blemish in the dash pad (replace dash pad) lights in vanity mirrors didnt work (fixed) rear speaker cracking noise (replaced) drivers side roof would colapase due to temp.change no foam support when built (replaced foam to support roof) This is why its hard to buy American made any more and this may be my last.
2005 T & C Limited
Great van. We traded in our 02 T & C for this one with stow and go and the DVD/ nav. The van rides better and is much quieter. Great improvmements.
My lemon
This vehicle, since July 2004, has only been driven 13K miles. In that time I've had have the following repaired/replaced: air conditioning condenser, front heater fan, passenger and driver sliding doors, rear park assist, stereo wireless output. Unbelieveable. My first, and last, Chrysler.
I have owned 5 minivans
We use our van for work, travel, soccer, hockey and a whole lot more. I have owned 5 Chrysler minivans and this is by far the best one yet!
The Best!
We have had our T&C for 6 months now and would not trade it for anything. The stow and go seats make it flexible for hauling just about anything. We have take a couple long trips with the kids and the 12v ports make for a great DVD experience. The dealership added a lifetime warranty on the drive train. The only problem we've had was when a sparkplug went bad. Dealership diagnosed and fixed it in less than two hours.
my butane blue t & c
This is my 4th minivan. I drive them for 60,000 then buy a new one. The 2005 sto'n'go is vastly superior to the previous 3(all of which were chrysler products). There are many new features of convenience and comfort. I particularly like the a/c, the automatic doors, radio, cd player and navigation system, the console between the front seats and the sto'n'go seating. The limited is great.
dropping tail lights.
Although the van was fun to drive some of the interior plastic trim began to fall off after 1 year. Recently the right side tail light lens simply fell off. This defect soon occured to the left side, fortunately I found 1 lens on the freeway I travel daily in one piece. I guess they were short on sticky buble gum when they built my van. signed, disapionted...
Minivan
BEST MINIVAN EVER< ABSOLUTLY LOVE IT
bryen
Excellant in all respects
T&C Review
I leased my 2005 T&C because I wanted more room, a gentle ride, lots of flexibility with the seats, and worry-free driving. I leased it because I want to trade it in in 3 years for the next best one available then. Compared with the Japanese competition there are areas where all three brands do somethings better than others. I would prefer the T&C to have passenger control over the cabin light. Right now the driver controls it. The build quality of some of the plastics around the seats seem a bit cheap, but I am very happy with everything else in this vehicle. T&C will be my next vehicle.
Happy but Sad
I purchased a 2005 top of the line Limited Model with all the bells and whistles. I am satisfied with the comfort and driving ease but! I have experienced drive train problems, an awful bumping noise when driving and during a vacation to Las Vegas (temp reaching 126 deg.) the passenger front door molding released from the body causing the door to jam every time it is opened. I have experienced problems with the power doors and liftgate when the weather gets over 100 deg. The performance and craftsmanship is lacking for a $38,000.00 automobile.
Best Mini-Van on the market!
Great vehicle! Lots of fun to drive. The family loves the comfortable interior.
my mini
i find an enjoyable driving experience in this vehicle. this my 4th van that i have owned and find this the best so faf [all were t&c vans due to the stow &go i cannot have a lift installed due to lack of support for lift motor as in prior models that had this ability unless a steel plate is welded to this area i do not want that done
Best Minivan out there
Traded in 97 T&C for this one. I had to have the side airbags to protect my kids and all the little gizmos are fun. We've had it for 1 1/2 weeks and have already put 800 miles on it. It's as fun to drive as a minivan can be and soooo comfortable. The Limited seats are wonderful. Chrysler fixed all the "little" things that weren't great on my old van. We didn't get our money out of an extended warranty with the last van, but will buy again to protect all the gizmos! My 7 yr old can even stow the seats, they are so easy to use. We all love it!
53,000 miles of Chrysler T&C
Put on 53,000 miles in 2.5 years with no problems and reasonable fuel mileage for vehicle of this genre. Generally ran over 22 mpg on highway (75+mph) with van loaded to above window level. Vehicle would do 24 mpg at 70 mph on calm day using 10% ethanol. Car was comfortable and stow-and-go was great on trips. It was not a race car but was comfortable to drive 800 to 900 miles a day on freeways. Rear seat room was more than on Toyota Sienna which means adults could sit way back without have to sit sideways. Know several people who have driven late nineties chrysler vans in excess of 200,000 miles.
van
getting 27 miles to gal at highway speeds of 75 with air on. show dogs, is wonderful with the disappearing seats for putting in crates
Worst Car I've EVER had
Bought this car new. So far we've had the transmission replaced at less than a year old. Brakes have been replaced 4 times and I only have 66K miles. Thought the sunroof leaked since we bought it. After 5 years of replacing the windshield, fixing the sunroof and several other things the car still leaks inside. Today we realized there are seals above the doors on the body under the rubber that are cracked and gone. We sealed these holes with silicone and when it's dry hope this will fix the problem. 1 window doesn't work, 1 sliding door doesn't work. The dvd player goes black at times. The paint is coming off all buttons, radio, heat/ac buttons. Waiting for what's next. Do not trust this car.
Not a Chrysler anymore
My wife hates the seats they are hard. Had a hitch installed and now the body structure is loose on the Rear fender where bumper connects to fender. In other words A Chrylser used to be the top of the line of everything but no more.
I love this car!!
So far I love this car. It has a very luxurious feel, yet all the conveniences of a mini van. The automatic doors are terrific. Our driveway is on a 45 degree slope, so the automatic doors are a must for loading and unloading young children. They work perfectly. The 3.8L engine is nice for the price. I might just keep this one after the lease.
Did I buy a Lemon???
I purchased this vehicle new in June, 2005. I love the van but I hate all of the problems. I have had problems with the air conditioning (only cooling in the rear). The door locks (wouldn't unlock with remote on key or inside switches & the only 2 key holes in the thing are on the driver side door and in the rear). My transmission went out (Thank God it was still under warranty). The cruise control quit working. After approximately 5 visits to the dealership's service department they told me my best bet was to get rid of the vehicle. This is encouraging!!! I am in the process of getting rid of this van now... I just hope that I can get what I owe when I have to trade it in.
Lot of Car for the money
I've only owned my Touring for less than a week. So far so good. I orginally wanted to buy a Toyota Sienna but for the price I would pay to own one, I wouldn't get a lot of the features I wanted unless I got the XLE. Not to mention, their option pkgs were expensive. The Toyota salespeople weren't trying to let go of their Siennas without the customer paying a lot over invoice. I was able to negotiate some of them down but I still wasn't satisfied. Toyota has a good reputation for reliability. I am a former Toyota owner and had my vehicle for 14 years. However, I got a great deal on my T&C and I'm very happy with my decision.
Rust already - seams at top of sliding
T & C u feel connected 2 driving it- rides great-anti-lock feature was a life saver kept us out of a accident- brakes really have solid feel to them and 3.8 L engine has more then enough power-but my T&C has the tow package pulling 1200 pound trailer loaded engine just barely does it for merging in fast traffic with 4 passengers and trailer. Rear self adjusting shocks came trailer package work great self level the van after driving it a bit.Transmission shifts good and downshifts when power is needed- steering has nice feel to it better then a lot of cars-easy to get in&out- front seats comfortable-as are second roll-3rd ok for kids but adults only if needed to use.Headlamps nice & bright when on.
Mistake!
We owned a 1997 T&C prior to our 2005 T&C. We loved our first van, but this van has been awful from the start. We've replaced the brakes 4 times, have had issues with the windows and locks, power steering, transmission, and radio. The wheels are constantly covered in black brake dust that is horrible to remove. Service says this is normal for this van. Van lets in a terrible amount of road noise and the construction seems so much cheaper than our previous van. I cannot express what a mistake it was to buy this van. Looking to dump it now, but it's worthless.
2005 Chrysler Town & Country Limited
The larger 3.8 liter engine is a vast improvement over the 3.3 liter of the Dodge van I owned previously. It has more horsepower and I have even been getting better gas mileage besides! The seating does not allow long items to be slid under them. I rarely removed the seats in my old van so I dont have much use for folding seats. There is a loss of about 1 ½ to 2 inches of head room in the front seats as compared to my old van. Even with the seats in the fully down position I find that I have to partially recline the seat back so my head will not be touching the ceiling. The van is designed more for the 100 pound tiny soccer mom than the average to larger sized driver.
best van
The tcs is a great van. Only problem was the gas mpg. I was getting about 15 city and 21 highway. I went to amas oil, and that gave me 18 to 19 city and 25 to 26 highway. And the kids love it too. I should say when they are playing there video games or movies.
Excellent Vehicle
This van is perfect for my wife and our two girls. We love all the features. In my opinion its the best looking van on the market. Engine performance is better than I expected from the OHV V-6. Ride and handling are excellent for this type of vehicle. Build quality has been flawless. Got a great deal to boot, much better than foreign competitors. I never thought about owning a minivan before but we'd have to step up to a Suburban type vehicle to get as much interior space.
Chrysler Got It Right
It is evident that the Chrysler engineers were listening to the less- than-stellar reviews and recommendations from previous model years of this van. As an engineer myself, it is apparent that the fellas did some real brain-storming and creative-thinking. Very comfortable to drive, especially for those long road trips. Parents will absolutely love the rear DVD system, no more "are we there yet?" The only other option I wished I would have gotten was the tow package. I evaluated all the mini- vans on the market and it came down between this one and the Toyota Sienna XLE Limited. With most features being the same, the price was the determining factor.
Where is the gas mileage?
The only problem I see is that it is suppose to get 19 in the city and 26 on the highway. I get 18 on the highway.
Many problems
The dealership where I purchased it was great. I had to drive back there for all warranty work. It was 300 miles away but the dealers around where I live always said nothing was wrong or it wasn't covered under warranty. Kudos to Gurley-Leep. They replaced the handle on the rear hatch, alternator, battery, electric sliding door. At 44,000 miles I had to replace brake pads. After 40,000 miles I lost 2- 3 miles per gallon and it started running rough. Manual recommends 75,000 miles for first tune up but needed one about 40,000 miles. Transmission slips when slowing down and taking off without coming to complete stop.
Disappointment
Love the minivan itself. Love the styling, room, convenience and the ride. However, I can't trust this vehicle with my wife and 9-month old girl. It has been in the shop approaching 2 dozen times! Multiple steering issues. Grinding sound in steering. AC line replacement. Fuel pump went out on busy freeway at 1,000 miles on engine! Transmission went out at 27,000. Nearly stranded wife and children on hwy at night. New trans hesitates between 1st & 2nd gears. Tech mgr. says it's common and shouldn't be a problem. Very comforting! CD player died. Dealer accidently replaced DVD player. Battery keeps dying. Dealer keeps saying it's OK. Dies after 1/2 hour on access. radio.
My New Van
Was all that we expected. Two negatives their was a blemish of the soft dash and will have to replaced and both vanity mirrors lights dont work
Chrysler still tops in minivans
This is the 2nd Chrysler in a row I have bought new which has never been back for maintenance. Quality is excellent. Stow & Go seats are a stroke of genious. Average of 26mph highway and 20-22mph on the rest of driving. Have gotten as high as 29mph on some trips. We will be trading on another one soon. For a good quality low priced van it is hard beat. Driving is easy. Handling is excellent. Seating is comfortable,as we have taken several long trip without tiring. Road bumps are well muted.
Another poor product
We bought this van with 19,000 on the odometer. After a year and a total of 28,000 miles, we turned it in for servicing for the following items. "V" belt was replaced due to being beyond specs (including the tensioner belt). Throttle body causing the it to idle horribly, and stall. replaced with one that sticks and you have to stand on the gas pedal to accelerate (but not a problem according to Chrysler). Front brakes were gone, replaced and about 5,000 miles later, the rotors were warped and had to be turned again! All in all, I hate this van, wish someone would burn it to the ground! New tires and alignment (within specs) but it pulls to the left, hard. and Firestone can't get it to stop pulling, due to the rear not being adjustable and being out of alignment.
Better than my old Odyssey
I love this new van. I had a Honda loaded with problems. This one calms me. Love the fold down seats
Town & Country Mini-RV
I am embarrassed to drive a mini-van, but not to drive a mini-RV. I can pack this thing completely full for camping, haul around every kid in the neighborhood, get up hills, drive in snow, and open the doors automatically when my hands are full of groceries. Great gas mileage!
Second Chrysler T & C
This is my second Town & Country. Put 100,000 on the 1999 and never had a bit of trouble. This seems to be even better. The two row fold down seats are really convenient and easy. Better than having a pickup truck. Fun to drive, comfortable and plenty of pep. The second row seats are a little hard, but I don't sit there.
Great Van!
This van is fabulous! Easy to drive- lots of power- easy to park -- reliable.Double sliding doors make it very convenient to load. The storage space behind the back seats is great for groceries & other items that may roll around while in transit.
Slick One
Great vehicle, Chrysler has come through again as usual. Just wish they made aluminum wheels available on the LX.
Never again
Gave domestic another chance when purchasing this Van. Good for first couple of years, then things started falling apart (cheap plastics in and out). Power steering issues, brakes replaced twice, and now the van is burning 1 qt. of oil every 1k miles. I maintain the car according to the owners manual (change oil every 3K, etc...). Chrysler corporate says the oil consumption is within 'acceptable' range - crazy.
Better familly car than any SUV.
We have been driving this van for 6 months now, and we still love it. We had a 2000 dodge caravan before that had many problems ( thank you extended warranty ) This van is a lot more quiet and handle a little better.
