Halfway to being the Bolt
I had the Volt and it was probably the best PHEV. But since my wife had a gas car, I didn't want a gas-engined car anymore, despite its excellent EV only range. I have moved to "green" and have the Chevy Bolt, which I love. Though its rated 259 mile range by the EPA, I routinely get around 300. Never have to buy gas, wait in line for it, and never run out of power, starting with a full tank each week. I had to turn it in in 2020 as the lease was up; couldn't get good deal on new Bolt which is better than original. Would consider buying as new 2023 models here sell for around $28K. But the Volt was an excellent vehicle. GM decided to axe it to concentrate on EVs but a good used one would be an option for some.

Still getting 100km average on a charge
My Volt 2019 has 105 000km and still getting a average of 100km per charge.... I drive at maximum the limit or under. Every work day I charge twice and sometimes more. It s clearly a money saving strategy for me. In the past 14 years I owned 12 different car including 4 Prius and over a million kilometers. Yearly I drive 50 000+ km and compare to a 2012 Prius I m saving 3000$ + in fuel and maintenance. The ride is way more comfortable and enjoyable. In winter the weight distribution and good snow tires put this car in the upper class for ride control and safety in the bad weather. Nothing compare to a Prius those are really bad in snow. Minus side : rear view...but I own a ford expedition and it's worst. The 7.2kw charging option is a must have to reduce cost and waste of time. The only problem I ve got so far is the Park none recognition issue. The vehicle don t know it s in Park. It's should be a recall but It s not. If you DIY the project it s 2-3 hours and 100$ to swap a new shifter. Garage charge 600-1000$ to do this.

RESPECT
Respect to the makers and manufacturers of this vehicle. You've outdone yourself. When I tell you I "love" this car, I mean it literally. I drove this thing up and down a mountain at 5,000 feet above sea level, obscene inclines and declines, for seven months straight, never had problem. 120,000 miles and it still glides. Masterpiece.
Worst car I have ever owned I am 73 many cars
Worst electronics i have ever seen. This car probably has Chinese electronics and low bidder to make them for GM. Have had the car in the shop more than any car i have ever owned. All because of old problems GM hasn't fixed since they built the first Volt. This car is not as described. Car has the 7.2 charger and the Infotainment system that works when it wants to and GM is constantly updating and when they do you loose more of the features the system is suppose to give you. Tire Pressure sensors dont work now and radio is useless as well as the usb play your own music or the sd card slot. And GM will not answer my complaints. Instead they tell me that their is no problem. I could go on for hours on this but choose not to. GM has a problem and they are not facing that problem just sweeping it under the table.

32mpg average on road trip 👎🏽
The car itself was fine and was definitely quicker than I expected. It did feel oddly top heavy and not overly confident in mountain corners. The part that gets my review is the mpg and range.... I rented this car for a 1000 mile road trip expecting mid 40’s mpg like I had gotten with a Prius on the same trip in 2010... when I picked the car up from enterprise they didn’t have the battery charged so I had to drive to Reno with no battery power so it got 32mpg all the way to Reno. So I figured I’d charge it at a Tesla charging station that you see everywhere but when we found one the plug is different... the next day we went to the dealership to use the “quick charger” which was going to take 5 hrs while we were traveling... so I got 32mpg to my destination. That night at 6pm I plugged the car in with the 110 charger provided with the car, and it took till 11:15 the next morning to finish charging.... figuring it was going to finally get the stated 45-50mpg finally it didn’t, it only got 38mpg.. I put the car in hold mode which is supposed to make the car run like a regular hybrid and not run on just ev mode, and it didn’t even last back to Reno (80 miles) then the car went back to 32mpg. These cars were not built for long distance, don’t buy one if you’re not just sticking in your town and driving 20 miles or so a day because the complete charge took almost 18 hrs to charge from empty and didn’t help our mpg for more than 80 miles... may as well have just let the car run ev mode and not bother using the hold mode because it didn’t help
