It's a flawless desing, very powerful yet smooth engine, reasonable fuel consumption, smooth suspension (too smooth sometimes) and excellent build quality... I reccomend it over any other MID size SUV.

My son Ryan, age 24, was cut off while driving on I-95. He lost control and spun across 5 south-bound lanes and slammed into a concrete barrier. The 03 Trailblazer was a complete total. But the built-in safety features absorbed most of the energy while the airbags and seat belts did their job. Ryan walked away with a minor neck sprain. I have nothing but high praise for Chevrolet building such safe and crash-worthy vehicle.

Good truck for the money. Very reliable straight 6 but could use a little bit more "pep". I'm thinking about installing a K&N Air Intake Kit to get those few extra horses and it will also give better gas mileage.

It's been nothing but problems. The air conditioner didn't work, the transmission went out due to "small metal shavings present from manufacturing" and metal fragments were on the "other side of the filter". This left us stranded in an intersection, and were almost struck by an oncoming car. They fixed it and it worked for about 2 miles, then the same thing...then they put a new "throttle body" in it. Then the windshield wipers went out in a downpour the three days after getting it back. Now the air conditioner still doesn't get cold and it jerks in and out of 2nd gear.

this suv was purchased just days before a 26" snowstorm. 4 wheel drive works great! we traded in a '00 venture and dont regret it for one second. interior materials are a little on the cheap side, but exterior styling is great. love the tan interior and exterior! came with factory brush guards for under $31,000. this is our only car now since our '96 metro just died. reliability is questionable, however, metro never broke down, just many problems. the catylitic converter is what did it in. we compared the trailblazer to the toyota sequoia and found the trailblazer to be a better value.

I purchased a LT Chevy Tralblazer 2003 4WD in May of 04. At the time it had 23000 miles on it. I am an outside salesman and so far as of today (March of 06) I have had the following problems. I had to have a new transmission put in it around 65,000 miles. The starter went out of around 70000, at this time I also found out that the fly wheel was cracked and it needed to be replaced. Also, around 30000 some sensor went out causing low engine power almost causing me an (several times)in high traffic. Its been recalled twice for back stop lights. If you need a reliable car and are considering a Chevy Trailblazer please THINK TWICE. Today I have 75K on it. What's next?

I wish I could get all my money back and start over! My first experience with a Chevrolet product has not been a good one. The Trailblazer (TB) has been in every 1000 miles or less for a front differential leak (3 times). I am experiencing what appears to be a transmission problem. I have had very minor problems with new vehicles, but nothing as serious as the TB. For the price, Chevrolet should really have more standard bells and whistles. The dealer is great, but the product leaves much to be desired. Sure hope Chevrolet can make me change my feelings. My TB has gotten to be the joke around work.

DON'T BUY THIS TRUCK. For 30 Grand plus you can get a heck of a lot more quality than a Trailblazer. The front seats are more uncomfortable than my 95 Cavalier; the front bumper is nothing more than a cheap piece of plastic that my 3 year old son can move up and down so that it looks like it's about to fall off. The brake system failed at 1300 miles, and I had to beg a Chevy dealer to look at it. My impression after 4 months? CHEAP. I don't believe I'll ever buy another GM vehicle again. I'd sell this piece of crap if I didn't owe more than it's worth, which is not much.

This vehicle is another typical poorly snapped together American tin can. My wife and I decided to be loyalto the US manufacturers, and I have not had a US made car since my Dodge Dart slant 6, which was ugly but reliable! This TrailBlazer was aptly named. Hit the trail and something under the hood will soon be ablaze, as I was told when I had an engine fire at 5,342 miles that was due to oil that spilled on the block. I disagree, since it looks like it originated from a cluster of wires that looks like a rats nest. Then my transmisssion completley failed at 19,456 miles and needed to be completley replaced. They blamed it on us saying we had driven the car hard. We use it to shop!

Everyone I know that owns one of these hates them. Mine is constantly in the shop being repaired for one thing or another. The very first time I brought it in for service I had a two page typed list of problems. The most annoying problem is the rear doors. They do not open from the outside (not the child locks). The Chevy dealer keeps "adjusting" them and they work for a few weeks, then back to not working. The performance is awful. Mileage is horrible. The list goes on and on. Maybe I just got a bad one???

I love mine. If I plan to trade for a new model in a year or two. There have been a few recalls though for minor stuff like the bumper and the molding around the door jams. Other than that it hasn't given me any problems or complaints. It drives excellent in the snow with AWD or 4WD (with the appropriate tires). My children have plenty of room in the back and we use it often to travel. Unlike the car I owned prior to the Trailblazer, there are no complaints from them either.

At the moment, I have a total of 4500 miles. Still rather new. The V8 is getting better than expected mileage. Better than my 98 Blazer w/ the V6! I'm mostly around town in stop & go & I have every option on the thing so weight plays a factor. Avg. 14+ easily. Fit & finish is typical G.M- 'nuff said. But is holding up well, so far. Smoooth V8 & ride from the EXT model. Quiet too. Great Bose system. Nice features w/ NorthFace! I would be jhappy to assist anyone interested who is concidering one of these vehicles!!!

Great highway ride!!! Wintertime fuel MPG of 14-15...MPG in summer is 16 around town and 18+ on highway. Had to have a sensor in the A/C replaced within first 5000 miles...no questions - fixed - FANTASTIC. This truck replaced a 94 Toyota 4-Runner(232k miles), unless something drastic happens I will get another Trailblazer to replace this one. Only complaints are poor body seal around license plate housing on lift gate (will need to be replaced), trailblazer door emblem fell off, and wind noise from passenger side front door when on highway in cross-wind.

I've had my Trailblazer for about (3) months now and have had only one problem. The weather stripping on the front edge of rear doors keeps falling off. It is an obvious design flaw as they rely on a small tab at top to hold in place and when door is opened the weather strip is pinched and pops off. The dealer finally glued them in place. The stereo system is so-so, power mirror controls are chintzy, wind noise a bit loud, front seats not very comfortable, and power steering is too over assisted.

I looked at all the midsize SUVs (Explorer, Grand Cherokee, and Durango) and picked the TrailBlazer for two reasons: It had the most powerful engine (270 hp), and I loved the body style. I have had no regrets about buying it. Its met or exceeded the expectations I had for it. Whether its taking the family on vacation, going hunting or fishing, or loading up at the Home Depot, my TrailBlazer has done the job. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the market for a mid- size SUV

Since we have purchased this vehicle it has spent more time in the shop then on the road. Somewhere in the front of the vehicle there is a leak that no one can find. Every time it rains, the entire front floor pannel gets soaked. My car smells like mildew and GM is not being all that cooperative with helping us out. I am not the only trailblazer owner that is having this problem. DO NOT GET THIS CAR

I own a 2003 Trailblazer. Started out great, until about a year ago when the ring and pinion gears went out. Had that replaced and now its in the shop and won't start. Thinking it has something to do with the theft deterrent system, even though I'm no thief, I'm the owner. I have put more money in this vehicle in a weeks time than what one months payment amounted up to. No wonder chevy claims to be like a rock, if you don't have them towed they seem to sit in the same spot like a rock. Will be the last I ever buy, if you don't believe me just google chevy trailblazer starting problems and see for yourself. Soon as it is up and running its getting traded for a Nissan/Toyota!

Purchased this vehicle and have never achieved higher than 15MPG despite window sticker of 21MPG. Have been to the dealership twice for inspection and they claim nothing is wrong. Chevrolet refused to address my concern indicating that their engineers do not expect this engine to achieve better than 12-14MPG. So why do they advertise 21MPG?!?!? Will not stand behind their products or customers. Go buy a Toyota, at least you will know what you are buying.

I drove a Blazer for a few years but don't let the name fool you, this is a much different SUV. The interior is very roomy (I am 6'4 and very comfortable in it). It has great features and has a nice feel to it, although the plasticky feel to the dashboared takes some getting used to. A friend of mine at college flipped his Trailblazer on a mountain and, after landing on his wheels, managed to drive it four miles back to civilization: there were three people inside and not a single injury, now that is safe!

We have had this car for 2 1/2 years now and it has been in the shop 12 times. The last visit was for a chirping noise when accelerating and the dealership said they called the GM headquarters and talked to the engineers and that the problem was "normal" and couldn't be fixed. Have also had electrical problems, preset radio stations disappearing, brake pads needing to be replaced, rotors fixed, and many other recalls. I think 12 times in for problems in only 2 1/2 years is excessive.

Always dreamed of the Tahoe-like vehicle, especially with four growing kids. It is nice alternative to the expensive, gas guzzling family of SUV's. Looks great, came with a lot of standards, i.e. tow hitch, full size spare tire,CD&Cassette player.Love the sound system features, the front/rear air controls, auto rear windows, easy folding seats and more importantly, roomy rear seating that "real size" adults can appreciate when going out with friends without feeling cramped. The DVD player is ‘a must’ for long trips with the kids, but does get in the way for rear viewing.Sharp looking, fun driving, graceful, practical.Perfect for a family who has outgrown the van.

My wife and I purchased a 2003 Trailblazer Ext over the Ford Explorer, Dodge Durango and their respective bigger siblings. We needed a vehicle that would comfortably pull a trailer and have 3 rows of usable seats that that would fit easily into our garage. The Trailblazer felt better, seemed more solid and we like the looks better than the others. It has a 3rd seat that we can and do use for our two older daughters. We are impressed with the smooth in-line 6 and know that when we go pull a trailer, we will have more than enough power and torque. The ride is smooth and comfortable.

I spent almost 6 months searching for a mid-size SUV that could hold 6-7 persons. This is defintely it. The EXT is great and has much more room and power than its competitors. It doesn't drive like a car, but I wouldn't want it to. This is an SUV for truck lovers and not a hybrid SUV. The interior is loaded with features that even make a gadget freak like myself happy. I would highly recommend this too all. The design to get into the third row is even better than the Suburban. The is the most modern of Chevy Truck/SUV designs.

I absolutely LOVE my 2003 Trailblazer! It gives me more room than a car, yet still gives me the room of a pickup. On long trips, we can lay down one of the back seats and BINGO! Just enough room for one person to lay down and sleep while the other is driving. If we pull over, we lay down both seats and have plenty of room for both of us to have a quick nap. With the luggage rack on top, there is plenty of room for everything from groceries to football equipment, to sleeping bags and pillows. Our dog especially loves when we leave both seats down, because he has a mini playground when we travel. Smooth riding and great gas mileage for our hard earned money. Thanks Chevy!

I needed a seven passenger vehicle that could tow a small trailer. I looked at all the available mid-size SUVs and the Trailblazer EXT met all the requirements. It has true seven passenger seating. The third row seat will easily accomodate two large men. The engine is smooth and powerful with decent mileage. I get a true 15 mpg around town which is a mix of residental streets and small highways. The Trailblazer comes equipped to tow. A class III receiver, 7 pin wiring connector and a transmission cooler are standard equipment. I am unable to find any problems that would require dealer attention. I am very pleased with the Trailblazer EXT.

I had owned this truck now for 15 months, bought it used with 73000 miles and very disappointed, just about every little thing that could go wrong with this vehicle has gone wrong. Right down to the cheap plastic features that have cracked on the interior, to the faded plastics on the exterior. The rear light housing on both sides have leaked and are in need of replacement will not pass inspection. In the 15 months my service engine light has come on at least 20 times. On an average it has cost $300 to fix. The gas pedal malfunctioned, thermostat, O2 sensors, TPS went twice, stuck two times in NYC with reduced power. Please be advised to look elsewhere if this is the type of SUV you need.

Excellent overall. Very smooth ride, LTZ is super high luxury with nice features only available on lux SUVs with prestige name plates costing $20K more. After I set aside the snob factor (not easy coming from BMW/Volvo background) found this an excellent value. Extremely powerful engine that beats most competitors including the minivan-like (and looking) Mercedes SUV and overpriced and compromised interior size BMW. Even the headlights are good, which was surprising given that I always drove European cars before with excellent lighting.

I bought my LS right off the lot, brand new. I loved it, handled great, felt comfortable, felt expensive. At 50000 miles everything went downhill. The fan clutch went out, factory defect, known by GM. I had to replace it twice. AT 60000 miles the shifter would stick and not move, found a broken wire under the console. The fuel pump started spewing gas, after I repaired it, GM sent a letter with an offer to replace it--too late for me. Gas mileage was perfectly awful, I live on a mountain, it took a quarter tank of gas to down then up. The older the car got the worse it became.

The new 2003 TrailBlazer is a great SUV. This is our 5th Chevy in a row, and before we purchased this I wanted to try another brand, such as Toyota. We were interested in the Highlander, 4Runner and Sequoia. When we got a rebate in the mail from Chevy, we called up and made an appointment with our friend Ken. We went the next night, and purchased our new "Off Road" TrailBlazer. No regrets AT ALL. It's now a week old and we just had a big snow; the 4 wheel drive works great. Love the Sandalwood metallic with Med. Oak interior. We even got factory brushguards. Not bad at all for under $31,000.

I've owned this suv for 1 yr so far and am satisfied. Has all options and nothing has failed or needed adjustment yet, although it only has 10000 miles on it. It's my third SUV.

From the time I set foot in this truck I was in heaven. It rides better than the Jeep Grand Cherokee I had previous and it is a lot easier to drive. I do not feel 'top heavy' in this vehicle and it is very well priced for what you get.

I just bought this vechicle and its great. Its a mini-van on steroids (interior size for seven people). I drove it at night with my daughter in the back(3rd seat)reading a book (light on), son listening to music (headphones) 2nd seat and my youngest daughter in the carrier. My wife was reading the truck manual. Everybody could do there thing with the lights on. The lights in the cab didn't bother me at all. Perfect. Now I'm ready for our trip to Florida this spring. Great Job GM!!!!

I'm not one to usually go with Chevy, but the Trailblazer is a great truck with a third seat that can fit a real person. And it can fit in the garage. It handles great and has all the power I could ask for. The gas mileage was also a pleasant surprise. I've had the Trailblazer almost 3 weeks and am still very happy with the purchase.

This SUV is very quiet and smooth, feels more like a luxury vehicle. I chose it over a Ford Explorer because the smooth ride was superior to the hard ride of the Explorer. The engine is very smooth and powerful. It is performing flawlessly so far.

This is the best vehicle that I have owned. Tough, fun, and looks good while working hard. Quick enough and responds quickly(speeding up or slowing down). perfect for both city and rual drives.
