Great SUV

I had never owned an SUV, until I wrecked my Ford Taurus. I shopped around, and test drove many cars, and absolutely fell in love with the Trailblazer. It handles very well in the city and on the highway, has great acceleration (especially from 40mph- 70mph,) and has a ton of space inside. The engine is strong and quiet, and I have not had a single problem to date (although I have only owned it for 3 months.) My only disappointment is the $25 it takes to fill it up every week, but I guess I should have seen that coming.

Several problems damper this otherwise fine vehicle. Lots of wind noise is the most apparent at speeds above 50 MPH. Front passenger seat belt locks up continuously. Fuel range...listed as 400 miles per tank...yeah...maybe if you drive the highway at 55 mph...otherwise expect mid to low 300 miles from full tank. Back seat uncomfortable...especially around foot area....other than I like it.

For the money, I’ve found my LS to be a great buy. It’s got a really quick, high revving engine that gets good gas mileage. Mine came with “Preferred Equipment Group 3” which includes things like remote keyless entry, cruise control and theft deterrent system. But more impressive are the standard features like automatic headlight sensors (turn on interior lights depending on light conditions), programmable door lock settings, circuit board electronics (rather than miles of wire), 16 inch aluminum wheels, full size spare, radio / CD that turns down the volume when the vehicle slows, gas shocks, dual zone AC with rear passenger controls, dual stage airbags and side impact air bags.

From the beginning until present, this vehicle has been super. I have had no problems with it to this date. Outside of regular service, the only expense has been new tires at 45,000 miles and a new battery at 35,000. Ride has been like sitting in a comfortable chair in my living room. Excellent on trips over 50 miles. Acceleration when you need it is there. Today with gas near $4 I wish it had better mileage but it more than makes up for it with its spacious interior, ride, and visibility.

Lemon in Green

Bought the LS in Hunter Green a little over a year ago. Have had major problems with the elctronic system on board. At one point, the dealer had the car for 3 weeks and had to rent me a loaner. Radio changes stations all by itself, A/c quits and starts all by itself. Gas mileage is aweful. I have a Tahoe that gets better mileage than this SUV does 10 mpg city, 16 mpg highway. Car has spent a total of 6 weeks in the shop and yet GM will not buy it back as it hasn't been enough problems to warrant replacement. My next car will be a Honda. Dealership was a good as could be expected dealing with a design error.
