So Far So Good

Lavender , 08/30/2020
2017 Chevrolet Malibu LS Fleet 4dr Sedan (1.5L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
1 of 1 people found this review helpful

Just bought my new 2017 LS about 2 weeks ago & im so in love thus far. There are just a few minor things i wish i can change. 1st the car sits really low, 2nd the small storages is really small, 3rd no place for your sun glasses, 4th no light on the sun shade mirror, 5th blind spot assist would be nice, 6th seat adjustments are manual. Other than that this car looks great, drives great, has alot of nuce features, & is really good on gas.

Beautiful, Quick and Equipped

I recently had no choice but to purchase a new car. I was T-boned going through an intersection that totaled my 2015 Malibu LTZ which I had for almost 4 years and ASBOLUTELY adored. I was crushed when I had to say goodbye. It was fiercely reliable, beautiful and equipped. When the impact happened, my Malibu's well built structure and safety features saved mine and my husband's life, so naturally we wanted another one. We purchased a 2017 Malibu Premier and we cannot be happier. It came with a more powerful 2.0L Turbo, which produces 255 HP, 60 more than my old Malibu. It's got comfortable, low profile 18 inch wheels which provide a smooth ride even over some of the most uncomfortable roads. It has heated/cooled leather seats, heated steering wheel, Bose audio, a large touch screen and much much more. The most profound difference for me though, is the power. This thing is QUICK. Absolutely love my new Malibu. Forever a Chevy customer.

This car CAN NOT BE BEAT SAFETY WISE

Abigail, 11/13/2023

I owned this car for 5 years before it met its demise. Before I get to that, the car was absolutely wonderful. Roomy, yet sleek, and in all black with black wheels, was just gorgeous. I did have my shifting module go out, right outside of warranty, which was a $1000 fix. From others who have owned Malibus and google, it seems to be a known problem. So previous to totaling the car, I probably would of given it 4/5 stars for that issue arising. It just was a huge ordeal and the car had to be towed because it stopped working. Now, to the safety of the car. I was driving 70 mph in the snow, on the highway, when I lost control of the vehicle. I fishtailed all over the highway before slamming into a guardrail at about 70 mph. A head on collision. The car was absolutely destroyed, and all the airbags deployed. A total loss. But both my passenger and I, walked away without a scratch. Not a single injury. Not a broken bone, or a need for stitches, absolutely nothing. This car is a BEAST when it comes to safety. The car looked like it had been squished in a press, but not a ounce of harm to us. You can't top that.

Terrible Company Treatment -- See Ya, GM!

nr_clark, 01/24/2021
2017 Chevrolet Malibu Premier 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 9A)

Our 1st GM vehicle and definitely our last. The car was OK drive-wise, but a) the auto-park radar was a liability since it wanted to hit other vehicles, b) the 19" wheels made the ride REALLY firm and loud and we really could have benefitted from smaller wheels, and c) although interior materials were on par, we hated how the backseat was an afterthought, and that the upper door panels were hard plastic. Our major issue was that they tried really hard to lose our business over the 3 years leasing with them. We've been let down, lied to, discriminated against, or given wrong information every time we dealt with anyone working for GM. We had our GPS screen on our Malibu not working for roughly half of the lease term due to these reasons. Six different visits, they "couldn't find anything wrong" with the screen only for us to see the dead screen upon leaving the dealership. You try driving without a working center screen! Then they'd hassle us over bringing in mailed coupons because they assumed ours were expired or not valid. And if that wasn't bad enough, when the pandemic hit, we needed a lease extension and GM Financial's reps kept giving us different information about the terms (and nobody could verify any of the info we were given). We came from Hyundai and compared to GM, Hyundai treated us so much better, and actually WANTED our business. It sounds strange saying that, but it's true...

I bought this car after driving a rental version in Japan, Missouri for a couple days. Got a great deal. A very mediocre car tbh. The creature comforts are there and they are standard; however, compared to price, it's really good. I like a lot of them features that are on that car. I have a ford-f150 and a jeep wrangler. This is my daily driver. Good car.

I think the title explains it all... and performs well considering the small engine....after almost two years of ownership no problems what so ever. Still the roomiest quietest mid sized I ever owned. The little turbo performs well all across the driving spectrum.

I bought my Malibu new. 2 years ago. I just now noticed It has been leaking around the 3rd brake light sense I had it. There was about 3 gallons of water where the spare tire was. I was told that chevy new about it and did not notify anybody about it. It does not have a trunk release inside, you have to use your FOB or get out of the car and open it. I have been a Chevy owner all of my life. But I think I am going to try Toyota or Honda next time

I leased this car for 3 years and totally enjoyed it. The 2.0 turbo charged engine had plenty of power and the performance was very good. The 9 speed transmission was extremely smooth and at 80 mph it was turning only 1800 rpm giving me well over 34 mpg and on long highway trips it was almost 40 mpg. Heated and cooled leather seats, very large sun roof and all the other premium amenities.

My 2017 Chevy Malibu hybrid. Best car ever! I've had Hondas , Toyotas , Dodge, Jeep , and Chrysler's. This model has outshined all other makers. Have only had to do regular maintenance. Old changes tires and a regular battery. The mileage now is 105000. And she still purrs like a kitten. Very attractive looking model. I plan to keep her until the end. LOL

I downsized from an Impala to a Malibu. Impala didn’t have all the bells & whistles. The Malibu was loaded & decked out with all the new technology. Just as roomy as the Impala. Great gas mileage, not uncommon oblong trips to get 40mpg. Sleek low setting car. 1 of the nations best top 20 reliable cars

Great car that’s reliable, quick, stylish, and gets great gas mileage. The car is also extremely comfortable. Going 75-80 mph I average 35-36 mpg and 0-60 is under 6 seconds. That’s impressive for an economy sedan! I’ve owned lots of sedans and this one is definitely one of the nicest. I would choose this car over a Camry or accord any day.

So far not a bad car at 75000mi.only replaced tires and the 8-year. old battery, the only fault I have is the paint job, it's the worst I have ever seen on a car appearance. another thing is the window sticker says I have a LS now on the trunk lid it says LT Huh, yes, must have been a new union worker.

I absolutely love love love my infotainment system(backup camera and GPS), Also my 1.5 litre engine with a turbo and six speed tranny are perfect for my trips to Florida, roomy car, good looking car and cheap on regular gas, very comfy also…..a perfect car. No major repairs at all since I bought it in 2017, just did my brakes for the first time in June 2023, still love my Malibu.JK
