Great car - so far.
This is a great car for the price and ride. I drive cars for a living and this car rides as nice as more expensive cars. I have 47,000 miles on the car and have had no problems. The biggest issue critics mention is back seat space - it’s not that different than others in this size. It’s a great mid-size car.

Mali-Boo
Like the fact it gets great gas mileage, great car for travel or errands, and low cost maintenance. Dislike: front seat is coming apart at the seams, like they didn't tie off the thread now its coming out. That's on the upper right corner of the seat. brakes need to be upgraded to cut down on corrosion with the brake pads sliding inside the caliper. Seems like every 2 years I am taking a sledge hammer to knock the pads loose from their holding bracket and redoing the slides. It has plenty of pad just the tabs are froze inside the sliders. So far those are my only complaints.

2 years shy of a a decade ...Under rated!
Great city driver...instant power all the time not bad on gas either. Powertrain is a proven 4 banger all day everyday for the last 30 years. The look is sporty/classy/unique.

Our 2015 Malibu with 207,700 Miles! Still Love It!
We purchased the car in October of 2015 with less than 20K miles on it. We put the rest of the miles on it. It's been an Excellent car for us. Very Solid! When we hit 200K miles and I went in for an oil change, our mechanic, Eric asked where we had our last tune up completed, as he didn't have one in our file! I told him we never had a tune up! We've used Seafoam in the gas tank, regularly, and it never needed a tune up!! At Eric's urging, we did change the sparkplugs shortly after that. The car stills runs beautifully! We have no plans to sell it yet! Jim & Jan V

ok
just a ok car nothing special.
love the malibu
I bought the new 2015 Malibu after owning a 2000 Monte Carlo SS I bought brand new. Love my Malibu. Not as much room as the Monte Carlo and a little harder to get out of but love the gas mileage.

Rental Car while Acura RL having bodywork done
Reviewing this from the perspective of an Acura RL owner may be a bit unfair, but... the dash vents are barely adjustable, there are no visible rear vents, the engine (like just about any other American 4 cylinder I have ever driven) sounds like a lawn mower on acceleration though it IS economical - 32 MPG on highway at 75-80 - it rides like a truck - it is firm but you feel every bump - very poor insulation from road surfaces and imperfections - the "switch blade" key fob is annoying - if you don't keep folding it up it puts holes in pants pockets, and the access to the vehicle information system is accomplished through three switches on the left stalk on the steering column - requires too much concentration and much better placed on the dash somewhere - huge screen on the dash does nothing without navigation other than give you radio information. Very disappointing car after all the rave reviews I had read about the "new" Malibu - cannot even hold a candle to our previous 2008 Honda Accord, let lone the 2015 model.
