Used 2000 Chevrolet Malibu Consumer Reviews
My 'Bu
The quality of this car is a major step up from Chevy cars of the past. Other than being on my 3rd set of brakes, I've had no major mechanical problems. I wouldn't have one without leather, a sunroof, and a spoiler because they really improve the look. I wish the leather seats were a little more comfortable. I have back pain during long rides. The resale on American cars is still poor. I'm trading mine in soon and after 5 years it will bring 1/10 of it's original sticker price. I think this car has held it's value better than that because mechanically it's very sound.
Chevy Malibu
This is a good reliable vehicle. Very cost competitive in price and operating costs. I have good results in dealing with the Chevrolet dealer organization. Overall - a good experience with this car.

the worst buy
This car is a joke I have four set of brakes and rotors a new fuel injection and now it needs a new intake gasket and the signal lights work half the time and forget them working when it rains. I will never buy chevy product again. And the gas gauge--don't work. THIS CAR IS JOKE!!! DON'T BUY TOO MANY PROBLEMS I plan to trade this spring--I feel sorry for whoever buys the POS!!!!
In my Opinion
I purchased a used 2000 Malibu in March of 2001. Barely a year after I purchased it, it had to be in the shop three times in one month. First the check engine soon light kept coming on, next the cruise control would not stay ingaged, and now I have a gasket leak and am unable to get the part for a month. Other than the most recent problems, the Malibu is a nice car. Unless I have a lemon off the line, the integrity of the car needs to be improved. The Chevrolet warranty department is great, I haven't had to pay out of my own pocket yet. This car is great for people with a family.
