BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD ON THIS ONE!
Auto stop feature totally ruins the car. Too many recalls. And serious issue with the Oxygen Sensor. This will be my 5th time in less than 2 years taking it in yet again this week. The bad part is, I paid extra for this Trim package to have the Remote Start in this cold Ohio weather. Everytime my Oxygen Sensor has issues and the engine light comes on, The remote start does not work! I am glad it was just a lease because I would never buy this car, or lease another one. I will say it looks nice, but that does me no good when it isn't a sound car mechanically.

It is decent except for Auto Stop
I really wanted to like this car but I don't...This car is fairly decent BESIDES the auto stop mandatory "feature".. Every other manufacturer gives the driver the ability to disable this feature, however, in the Cruze you are forced to deal with the engine shutting off at red lights, city driving, every stop sign, etc. This feature claims to save a whopping 1mpg, its so not worth it. There have been instances where it is hot out and my car shuts off for a few seconds and then you have to wait for the ac to kick back on, if it's cold and your windows are fogging up and you are desperately trying to see, DON'T WORRY IT WILL SHUT OFF AND MAKE YOUR WINDOWS FOG BACK UP. This car overall isn't terrible, it's painfully plain, but not terrible. The turbo does a decent job at accelerating however driving a car in basically the same price range, the Jetta, offers the same size engine, but the performance in the Jetta is waaaaaay better. Also the Cruze was recalled for a roof leaking issue, mine leaked in the car wash and the dealership tried to shampoo the cardboard-like headliner and it basically looks like damp paper now. The speakers in the LS + LT without bose are terrible, they are not loud, they pop almost instantly after and the dealer will "test them" by basically turning up your radio all of the way , which in turns blows all of your speakers and tells you there is nothing wrong with them. Chevy dropped the ball with this second generation model.. The fuel economy is nothing to brag about either

Inter cooler issues
My fiancé has owned this car for close to 5 years now and we endure some pretty cold weather in Canada. In the last couple years of owning this vehicle we have had check engine lights go on in the winter for codes P0299 (under boost) which therefore means the ecm isn’t seeing the required boost pressure it should see with the provided engine rpm. This issue was caused by the intercooler collecting moisture and freezing during cold weather and this issue can’t just be cleaned out in car, bumper has to be removed, condenser pushed forward to access intercooler and removed from unit for proper cleaning. Dealer suggestion is to run unit at 5k rpm after driving to you destination at extreme cold weather to clear out moisture. I’m starting to realize why they don’t make Chevy Cruze cars anymore

Bought it used
I bought my 2016 Chevy Cruze LS in June 2021 with roughly 62,000 miles. My car is blue ray metallic with steel wheels and black cloth interior. The paint looks awesome when the sun hits it and I love washing it. The manual transmission is easy and shifts smoothly despite replacing the transmission (previous owner didn't know how to drive it). I like to take road trips and I received 52 MPG while driving over 600 miles at highway speeds and right now gas is $4.89 a gallon. The infotainment system is responsive and I can speak clearly while taking calls from my car. I have a Samsung phone and android auto is pretty cool once I plug my phone in. The turbo in my car is fabulous and it really kicks me back when I have to move. I'm 5'8 and I was sooo surprised at the leg space in the back seat. The back seat is very roomy for them tall folks. The back seats have child safety locks so you can manually change the locks in the door. The visibility is also very good but there is a blind spot since the rear window is a little small. I love my car, I previously drove a chevy cobalt LS couple. This is a nice upgrade. I would buy the car brand new if Chevy still made them.

Good car compared to competition
This car has been great, the 6 MT is fun with the turbo, and it’s been reliable. It did need a new turbo around 90k miles, but I believe that’s because the previous owner drove it hard.

Not reliable
The transmission is starting to have problems at 70k miles and the warranty only covers 60k miles. I would not reccomend this car.

Money pit
We got this car brand new. We are the only owners and we take excellent care of our cars. 2 weeks after rolling off the lot, the shifter wouldn't go into park. The dealership replaced it and it was fine for a while. Then it started overheating. For no reason. One second it's fine and full of fluid and the next it's so hot it shuts off on you. It shudders with no explanation. We've spent so much money on this car and it hasn't even hit 100k miles yet. This year alone it has been in the shop 4 times and broken down 6. Fortunately last week when it broke down my husband was able to replace the hose but now it's died on him again. We only have 10 months until it is paid off and you can bet we will never ever ever buy this model again.
