8 years in and it's still humming along. Cam cover has been replaced twice. Has about 94k miles and seems to have started to use a little oil so that's something I'll be monitoring. Overall a decent car.

RUN...don't walk...RUN AWAY FROM THIS JUNK

My wife wanted this car. Bought April, 2014. Now December, 2014. She loved the look of it and the sticker showed some good numbers for fuel consumption. The first 5000 miles or so got about 31 mpg steady. After that we are lucky to see 26. Same route and speed to work. The car accelerates on it's own. The rpm's rev all the way up and the car bucks away. You need to pay attention and hit that brake! Dealer says, "no problem found". There are interior gaskets and moldings coming off. Dealer shoved them back on and they are coming off again. Newest problem is the car keeps stalling and doesn't want to start. Have an appointment to bring it in again in two days, if it starts.

Losing sleep, what did I do?!

I just bought a 2014 Chevy Cruze LT last night from a licensed wholesale guy. It has 109,000 miles and looked and felt like a nice little car to teach my 15 and 16 year old kids to drive. We spent a lot of time checking it out and scanning for codes using the little meter. It drive well. The engine seemed a bit noisy with ticking but I was reassured it had something to do with fuel injection. After we decided to purchase it, I drove it over an hour and the ticking sounds seems to be louder and more obnoxious. We parked in a parking lot checking out some of the features and it was dark, right before turning off the ignition I noticed the lights dim. I’ve now been reading reviews like crazy, losing sleep over it being described as a “death trap” and many people experiencing total loss of power while driving on freeways etc. We live off a 70 MPH freeway. Having mechanical issues from the get go and reading everyone’s horror stories is making me feel really sick right now. I guess I’m stuck paying the “Stupid Tax” and will be out a little bit of money but I’m getting rid of this car ASAP and NOT letting my kids drive it. Super upsetting.

Chevy electronics. Easy to pair phone to car. Infuriating trip computer that has never been close on mpg, distance to empty, gallons used. On star is good but I feel too expensive so I dropped it. Interior nice but leather seats are FIRM. Average around 32 mpg day to day use, have never come near 38 mpg rating. At 42000 miles transmission is getting dimwitted on shifts ( just want a slight speed increase, push on throttle, nothing, push, nothing, push then it's a 2 gear kickdown). Dealer says car showing no codes when I had checked. Rear seat room is good for small kids or SMALL adults. Real nightmare is sunroof failed in tilt open position. Will update when I find out what is wrong and how much financial pain it will cost. I dont think I will consider another GM vehicle if this sunroof problem turns into a financial black hole. Plus side tire wear is great, still have near 50% of original tread, premium Pioneer sound system is great. Update..cost 116.00 but dealer found crud jamming sunroof motor and cleaned it out. No longer park near trees with roof tilt open. This is NOT a performance car. RS package is dress up and nothing more. Trade value plummeted with new style release.

Reluctant Cruze owner

I must confess that the Cruze was not my first choice. I came to the Chevy dealership looking at the malibu, but things quickly begin to fall apart on the deal. So I had to regroup and the salesman introduce the cruze as an possibility. First, the deal was right, secondly, after the test drive I was surprised at how it performed and how it looked to the eye. Needles to say I am a cruze owner and looking for this car and driver relationship to last.
