Most uncomfortable car I have ever driven
Hard to know where to start. Alarm system goes off when I try to get into car. I am normal size (5'10", 170 lbs.) but I have to contort myself to get into drivers seat. Seat belt has too much tension. Right knee rests against hard surface--gets sore on long ride. Very little leg room for driver. Very poor visibility. Head rests and rear pillars block view when I back out of parking space. Stereo sounds tinny. Style is bleh. Key body is too large and bulky. Passengers find it difficult to get in and out. Feels like a sardine in a can.
Great compact vehicle
Great car, have to keep up on the maintenance in order to last, I live in kern county and commute daily to LA, had a few problems along the way but I was smart enough to buy the extended warranty. Make sure you invest in the extended warranty, it’s worth it!!!

Decent car for young abults.
Recently used it as a trade in for a VW GTI. I had the car for five years. Car barely gave me any headaches aside from the water pump failing at 50,000 miles; and the the thermostat housing failing at about 61,000 miles the following year. Car has an awesome amount of trunk space. I’ve moved 6 times in that car between Missouri and Illinois without much of a hassle. It was great on long trips and got really good fuel economy. However the cars acceleration is ok and the transmission shifts when it feels like it. Pretty soft ride as well it can be pretty bouncy at times. Rear seat space is pretty lacking if you’re setting behind someone tall (such as myself I’m 6’ 1”) but it’s not to bad. I’d say if you’re a college student or a young adult this is a good car for you maybe even a small family this is a good buy. Simply because parts are inexpensive it’s easy to do basic maintenance yourself on it. All in all it’s a solid car and I’d suggest it if comfort is your main focus. If you’re looking for sportiness or luxury look elsewhere.

Crappy car
Make sure u look into it before u buy .bought it used and had a year and half put about 1500 into it and extended warranty don't cover anything.lets c water pump.whole exhaustsystem even catalytic converter went . windshield wiper motor all within a year .car is pure junk .
Way better than I ever expected.
I have had my 2014 Cruze LT with RS package since Dec 2014. It is the best car I have ever had. Fuel mileage is really good. Handling is above average. Turbo is seamless. The interior leather makes the car feel luxurious. Still to date only 53390 km on it and it really good shape. maintenance wise very good as well. will be doing the rear brakes in the spring.

Do not put the pedal to the metal!
This car has been great for me. I have had it since 2014 and drove it around like it was my '96 Volvo 850. Big mistake! The water pump and turbo failed. Most likely the turbo failed because of the water pump (which is a common problem on this vehicle). Other notable problems to this vehicle are the PCV Valve and the negative battery cable. I had all 4 of those problems in my car. Luckily they were all covered under warranty, unfortunately I had to deal with other problems most likely because of things like failed water pump (overheated engine). But the car is running strong 100,800 miles. Sadly, I don't like to accelerate above 3500-4000 rpm. Sorry everyone around me. The last time I accelerated any faster I heard the turbo go out. Anyways, it's a nice car if you have a short commute, live in a patient city, or run small errands. It's comfortable on the highway, but I would not like to drive this thing around in areas where quick acceleration is a must. Nope. That's probably why they aptly named it the "Cruze" (cruise). Well hopefully it can get me another 100,000 miles on this original engine. Then I can upgrade the review to 4 stars. It's 3 stars where it stands. 3.5 stars really becase Replacement parts are cheap if you are a DIY guy or gal because it's 2020.

Great car...when it is not in the shop
We bought a new 2014 Chevy Cruze with the 1.4L Turbo engine in late 2013. It now has 67,000 miles on it, and when it is working well, it is a great car. However, it has had a lot go wrong, and every time something goes wrong, it is a huge bill, because it is seemingly designed to be very difficult to work on. This car has always had oil changes when due. It has not been a neglected car, but has been in the shop more than any car I've ever had. In just the Summer months of 2023, the ignition coil pack failed (again; original failed awhile back), the thermostat failed, the coolant outlet failed, the main engine wiring harness shorted and had to be replaced at great expense, the turbo failed, the oil pan gasket failed (and it is a ridiculous cost to fix this; not like your typical oil pan gasket on older cars), and now the timing chain needs to be replaced. This is in addition to some major repairs in other recent years. We are done with Chevy. Never again. It's too bad. This really is a nice car to drive, but it seems it is just a ticking time bomb, and every time something goes wrong, it's another thousand or two thousand dollars. Reliability is just terrible. If you're thinking of buying one of these (unless it's mine), run...find something else. Ultimately we had it fixed and sold it before there was another bill we'd be responsible for and bought a different brand. I'm sorry to say it, but I will never buy a Chevrolet again.

Do yourself a favor and do not buy this car!
Before I even write anything, I will let you check this out for yourself. https://www.consumeraffairs.com/automotive/chevy-cruze.html?#sort=recent&filter=none I am going to make this short and sweet. I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze Ltz. I bought this car in November-2014 with only a few thousand miles on it. I have had problem after problem with this vehicle; ESPECIALLY after the short, worthless warranty expired. It’s coming up on having this car for 5 years now, and today I just had to get my motor for the windshield wipers replaced.. which was about $400. Let me just say again that this car is ONLY 5 YEARS OLD. That’s just one problem recently... The next problem, I haven’t taken it to get looked at just yet. When i go up hills or when I’m merging onto a highway, my car takes about a minute to gain speed. Not only does it take a while, but it also jumps before it starts to go any faster. Sounds like a transmission problem to me but when I had my mechanic run diagnostic tests, nothing came up. If you read about Chevy Cruze complaints, many people have had this problem but Chevy does not seem to care for it. I called as many people as I could and now I’m trying to take this further and hopefully with all of these complaints that Chevy has they will do something about it. I wish I would have done more research before I bought this car because It has done absolutely nothing but put me in a hole. Please do yourself a favor, and do not get a Chevrolet Cruze or even just a Chevy period.

Don’t waste your time or money
2014 Chevy Cruze was my first car and I was so excited to get it. Bought it with 115,000 on it and spent over 3,000 in just two years of owning it. Was always in and out of the shop for engine light problems. Then it was supposedly fixed no light was on, so I was driving it when it damn near exploded. It started smoking really badly and all the oil spilled out of it could see a oil spill all the way down the street from where I drove. I had to get it towed and get rid of it. These cars these years have SO MANY RECALLS AND SO MANY PROBLEMS. All models from this year and years close to it has problems with the engine. It can and will develop cracks in the engine and after 120,000 miles it is not covered to get fixed for free. Cost of new engine is price of new used car. Do not disappoint yourself. This car is a LEMON!!!

Great
i bought the ltz, which i thought everything would come standard on, i was sorry to learn if i wanted a sun roof or spoiler, that would be an extra charge, they did not include any safety items, like if there is a car next to you, the light goes on in the mirror, and they put these puny splash guards on the car and charge you 170 .00,for things that barely even do the job, yes the car has a lot of room, i have been getting 31 mph with just about all highway driving. the radio is not worth the price either, if you drive in highway traffic with the window down, you can barely hear what's on the radio, the blue tooth is another story ,sometimes it works, other times, you can say a name to call and it says not listed in your phone book, only to try again 2 min later and it goes right thru! the heated seats, barely get warm on the highest setting, now, for some reason, the duel horn dose not work all the time, when it does work the right way. people can here me, when it does not work the right, hardly anyone can here me! i am still very disappointed with this car, i have been a Chevy owner for 24 years, next car i get will not be a Chevy!!!

Great Car for Price
I am already at 50k+ miles in 2.5 years and have had no issues with this car. It is a basic car - no frills. It drives smoothly and is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. My only complaint is that the interior materials are cheap. One mirror cover broke off already with basic use and the metallic coating on a door handle is peeling off already. The door locks are kind of weird (the only autolock button is on the dash) and the basic model lacks many modern features such as keyless entry/start-up or a back-up view camera. The USB connection can be finicky, and I had to have it replaced when it was new, but now it usually works as long as the USB cord is good quality. The backseats are a little cramped when people sit behind someone tallish (I am 5'7). I average around 35mpg, which is awesome. Sometimes I go 40m on 1 gallon. I only paid $15k for this car, so I am very pleased with it overall.

Never again!
Everyone we talked to before we bought the Cruze, loved their Cruze. Once we started to complain about issues we were having, we realized that everyone else had had weird, quirky things with their Cruze's as well. We bought the car at 17k miles. Almost immediately we had issues with the electronics, the compatibility with our phones, back up camera getting stuck...mainly minor nuisances. Soon after we started having the check engine light come on frequently. I would say in the two years we had it the check engine light would come on every six months. Thank goodness the dealership we dealt with had a great service department! Usually everything was covered under warranty. There were so many issues....they ended up warranting an entire new engine at 37k miles. We had cadalidic converter issues, cylinder head issues, skipping issues, gasket issues....you name it! Like I said, the check engine light would come on about every six months with a new issue. The last straw was when, without warning, I came out after only 15 minutes shut off to a dead battery. We replaced the battery and it has been fine, however, I'm not trusting that it's not a recharging issue. So we are getting ride of this POS while it is still under warranty and the getting is good. NEVER would i recommend this car to anyone!

Well, it's a Chevy
I like my Chevy Cruze. I very much dislike the Chevrolet dealership, however. They are total crooks. Not an opinion, but fact. They are crooks. I'll save that story for Yelp. So that eliminates me from purchasing another new Chevy, because I won't be dealing with our Chuck Nash dealer in Kyle, Texas any more. I've had to take my 2014 LT Cruze every couple of months since I bought it used with 17,000 miles on it. Pretty soon after my purchase I took it in for a recall item. They fixed it but found something else. And since then little things had been going out on me, mostly due to electrical issues. And whenever I fix something, the dealership finds something else. So, I'm not sure if I should blame the integrity of the car on the product itself or on the dealership. But I've been happy with the car besides that. I got it loaded and at a great price. I didn't get it from the dealer. For me, the best thing about the car is the interior. Chevy has really nice interiors for the price. Before this car I had a Mazda 3. I liked the performance of the Mazda 3 better, but for looks and comfort, I prefer the Chevy.

NO MPG EITHER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No highway mileage.Best i can get is 27.7 this is hwy with cruse control set at 65. After a week at the dealer The dealers final words were ."I WISH THERE WAS SOMETHING BETTER I COULD DO FOR YOU "but gm says there is nothing wrong with the car .
Two Years is a Lot to Deal With for This Dud
After being reassured by a complete inspection, I bought a "lightly-used" 2014 Chevy Cruze. Maybe at most 13,000 miles on it. The first 6 months of my ownership, it was a dream! This was the best running car I've had! Then... after the first full year wrapped, things started going downhill. My first of 3 trips to mechanics for oil drip issues developed. Then for this, my second year of owning the car, I've been to various mechanics 4 times this year already, for a tensioner replacement, a water pump replacement, and TWO added checks on oil drips. I look forward to the Labor Day weekend sales, so I can see what another dealer will do to help me out with an newer model, and get this certified lemon off my hands!
Leasing this vehicle was awesome!
Love my cruze

Still on the post
Purchased this car for the hubby to drive and from work. 110 miles roundtrip everyday. He decided he would continue to drive his truck (I drove it for 2 years to my job round trip ,12 miles) because gas is down. So I got the car against my wishes. This car is not comfortable at all to me. To many buttons to figure it out. Be prepared to read the manual if urnot techno savy... Which I am not!! I feel like I am in a fishbowl or all to see.Keep in mind I did not get in or test drive the car. Hubby did only. But I drive oit.go figure. I am a plus size babe, n this car is tight. Good thing I am not plus plus or it would be like a can of canned fish stuffed in. Had the car for a month now and it s slowly expanding with me. Tinted ALL the widows made a world of difference .so, that said, I would give this car 4 star rating. VERY compact not to roomy, back seat to tight, Windows look c!assy though n I give them a10+++++. Handle s curves like a charm n fast little booger to 0 to 60 in 45 sec and its a 4 Cylinder. Go figure its a classy one to.

5 year owner 2LT RS
I bought this car in 2015. It had been a rental. It had about 18k miles when I bought it. The first couple of months I had a couple small items fixed under warranty. One other small repair just recently about $150. Other than that, it has been a very trustworthy car with good fuel economy. I'm not completely in love with this car but it is an acceptable ride and I plan to keep it a while since it will be paid off in a couple years. Hopefully I won't have some of the issues I've ready about.

A nice car with some setbacks
The Cruze was a decent car that I had during college. I recently upgraded to a Buick Lacrosse. The Cruze had excellent fuel mileage. I drove 50 miles a day for a while and only refilled once a week. The infotainment system had a lot of features as well. However, the car was too small for me. I am 5'10 and weigh 245 pounds. My legs were crammed into the steering wheel constantly. My friends were always crammed in the backseat. As someone who works in the IT industry, having enough trunk space is a huge necessity for me. Getting a Lacrosse solved all of those issues.

Love this car
This car is great on gas, nice features, they have auto start packages but the one I have unfortunately does not have that feature. Car is nice small but can hold a family of 4 with 2 car seats. Also with it played music via Bluetooth but this one does not have the my link touch screen and only plays audio through adapter

"Cruze from he11"
Bought at 62k miles. At 68k miles, replaced coolant hoses, water pump and engine. Now at 78k miles, i'm currently replacing the transmission. It is embarrassing in drive thrus because the fan is constantly running extremely loud and crackley sounding which i'm told is normal. It is the most uncomfortable thing i've ever sat in. After the 35 minute drive to work, i can barely get out of it by back hurts so bad.

Awful Experience
My 2014 Chevy Cruze had its 5th Turbo replaced just this past December. It unfortunately never drive the same after the first replacement where the Dealership did not put the Turbo in correctly and I lost every bit of a brand new oil change going down the road. Loved the car in the beginning but nothing but issue after issue with it.

DONT BUY SAVE UR MONEY
I bought this car (my first car on payments) and it’s been in the shop 3 different times!! First the turbo, and then the crank shaft (oil leaking everywhere) fried my alternator. Literally not worth my time nor money. Will never buy a Chevy again. Not dependable nor reliable at all!!!

Electrical Nightmare
Out of 3 years and going from 70k miles to 130k miles in that time it was good for about 110k. To start off with the spark plug boots melting into the motor it made it difficult to replace. the endless amounts of coolant leaks, manifold gasket going bad leaking oil, electrical problems from hell and standing water in the engine bay, interior and trunk. On top of all that the parts are very hard to find unless you go straight to the dealer and they are expensive.

COOLANT LEAK = ELECTRICAL ISSUES!!!
2014 cruze with less than 60k miles on it. Went through 2 junk electronic thermostats. Had a very small leak (unknown) which crept through the wiring harness into the fuse box, ecu, O2 sensors, and the very stupid control module on the back of the intake manifold that cannot be bought separate. The bill to fix was outrageous on a car that was barely worth the cost to fix... Spent nearly the amount to fix it as it was purchase for a few years prior. No power, terrible ride, the worst vehicle I have ever driven (new or old) and I drove some pretty questionable vehicles. Chevy is such a disappointment. oh, and who markets a car name CRUZE without cruise control as a standard option? jeeezzz

2014 Cruze caught fire not running in driveway
My car gave me no problems for a whole year , couldn’t have asked for a more dependable car but on 2/04/2022 it caught on fire at 5 am in the driveway as I was getting ready for work. It was not running and had not been driven in over 8 hours. Chevrolet said there were no recalls for the make and model. Insurance said no coverage on engine fire as I only had liability coverage since it was paid for so I just had to take a loss. My home was within minutes of catching fire Thankfully the fire dept was speedy. This makes no sense to me and Chevrolet doesn’t seem to think it is a safety issue so beware of this vehicle
Never ending repairs
If this vehicle could stay functional, I’d give it a lot more stars. So far I’ve had issues with the turbo, other emissions issues, issues with coolant leaks on multiple places, broken automatic window (the window literally fell into the car door), and the bills just kept adding up. Finally had enough and sold it at only 60 thousand miles! Damn shame too, because I loved the size and interior for this car.

Turbocharger Plagued
The turbocharger has been the single most often point of failure. We bought the 2014 Cruze new in January 2014. Labor Day weekend 2016, it had its first turbocharger failure shortly after leaving Lexington, SC to Anniston, AL. Counting the factory installed turbocharger, the Cruze is on its fourth turbocharger. The problems remind me of the 1980 Citation.

Cheap garbage
I can't even begin correct. My Cruze has had nothing but issues. The thermostat, water pump, reservoir tank, radiator fan, have all been replaced, and I'm only at 60,000 miles. It's not even ten years old, but every dealer tells me they're not able to help. Wish they would just tell me to kick rocks, be a bit more honest. I can't even trade it in because I'm SURE no dealer would take this hot garbage car. I guess one good thing is it was cheaper than most cars, but I guess we do get what we pay for. I'm getting a Honda or something more reliable next time, and I know I can probably get more for scrap than a trade in. I know Chevy used to be good, but clearly they're going the way of Gibson: utter lack of care to detail and making a quality product but relying on the name to keep them somehow in business. Absolutely will NEVER buy another Chevy

Great Car For The Price!
With the Cruze you get some problems, but also the cost of the actual vehicle itself is low! These are built to be affordable compact cars, I’m 6’ 3” and I daily drive a 1LT. It’s one of my favorite cars I’ve owned and I bought it with 11,000 on the clock. I’ve not had any issues with it so far regardless of how much I hear of them. It has really helped to get regular maintenance. Would definitely recommend this!

Engine blew at 72K Miles
The 2014 Chevy Cruze is a beautiful car but it really is a high maintenance vehicle. It's a very small car. My engine blew at 72K miles. It blew due to an oil leak. Put a rebuilt engine into it & a month later the oil filter housing unit blew. I would not recommend this car to anyone unless you are wealthy. I put $5000 into this car since I got the rebuilt engine put in.

Nothing But Issues :(
I bought my 2014 Chevy Cruze in December 2022, it’s now January of 2024 and the car has been nothing but problems. The first fews months, it operated as expected, drove smoothly, no dash lights. But, for the last few months after it hit 170k, I’ve had every dash light there is pop up. Constant issues with coolant leaking, and the pan gasket has now blown. Censors upon censors have been going bad. I don’t expect a car to run the best after 150j unless it’s a Toyota. But, I expected it to at least last to 200k before blowing up.

Last Chevy I will ever buy
This car is complete junk. Gas gauge stopped working around 30k. Numerous electrical issues since day one. A prime example is something keeps running after you turn the ignition off (high pitched whine- and not a fan) and you need to flip the ignition on and off a few times to get it to stop. Coolant leaks, sensors keep dying, and now small but critical parts keep failing with around 80k. I have an old 2003 Chrysler minivan with 150,000 miles that's 1000 times more reliable. I used to love the old Chevy Cavaliers since they were reliable, cheap, and easy to repair. I thought maybe Chevy had built this new Cruze to replace the Cavalier. This Cruze is absolute garbage and I highly doubt it will make it to 100,000 miles without major $$ repairs.

HORRIBLE!!!!
I bought this car in 2018 and it has been nothing but TROUBLE! Run, FAST before you can't!!! I have had to replace the turbo which was not a cheap fix. Now having problems with the radio cutting off randomly, throwing the traction control light and ABS light. Will be trading it soon. Also DEFINITELY NOT carseat friendly!!! Whoever designed this did not want car seats in this car!!!
