Good A to B transportation

This is an A to B car, pure and simple. It does not handle well, it is put together rather cheaply. But it WILL get you from point A to B, relatively comfortably, with low maintenance costs and therefor low cost of ownership. Not much to go wrong with it, unlike a caddy. A lot of plastic, especially in body components. Headlight assembly is terrible. Who ever engineered that should be dragged out in the street and shot. Same for taillight assembly. 2.2L with K&N provides better acceleration, but its slow. Good tires, such as MIchelin Defender, provide marked increase in ride quality and responsiveness. Overall, its a good cheap to own car. Period. Even after owning for 10 years, and a few minor wrecks, it still starts up every morning.

I haven't had any problem with any break down. I have preformed all maintenance required. I have no complaints. I have to sell because I can't drive anymore due to health reasons. The vehicle has never been in an accident no mechanical problem.

Great car for the price

I had this car from 2007 until recently (Sept 2012) when I was involved in a car accident. It gets good gas mileage for a larger car and doesn't require a lot of extra costs. I drove around 18,00 miles a year for work and experienced no issues. We only purchased new tires when needed and oil changes. The week before my accident we had to replace one headlight but that was it as far as repair costs go. It was a safe car as well, it took the damage in the accident, not me! I will miss this car. Overall, yes, I would reccomend this car. Is it fancy? No, but it is reliable, safe, and pretty decent gas milage.

I believe most of these cars were either rentals or government fleet vehicles. I believe mine was a rental. At any rate, I have 165,000 miles on it and I put about 40,000 a year on it. I put new brakes on once, wiper motor and new tires. Replaced the serpentine belt as preventative maintenance and that's about it. They are not very fun to drive and handle like a boat after the suspension ages (not something I care about), but it is a great dependable car that is cheap to maintain. I will buy one for each of my kids when they are old enough. UPDATE: Traded the car at 190,000 toward a newer van. I still will get another one when my kids drive. Really miss this car.

Best Car I've Owned

My 2005 Chevy Classic is an awesome car. It has the perfect combination of safety, comfort, reliability, and performance. Fuel economy is excellent for its size, which by the way, despite being a bigger car, has the same size fuel tank as my last car, a 2002 Cavalier. The Classic's cost of ownership is quite low because it costs less to maintain and insure. It also makes a great family car because it is very roomy and comfortable, and can adjust to any size person. Although hard to find, I highly recommend the Classic to anyone.

Pleasantly Surprised

2/08 w/46500 mi I paid around $8500. The int was in VG cond and the ext was near perfect. The only problems I've had was a squeak at the sway bar bushings (I fixed with dry graphite lube) and right now the Ck Eng light has come on two days ago. I will be getting that checked next week. I've had no other problems (hence "Pleasantly Surprised). At 51k mi I had the trans flushed and at 53K I switched to synthetic oil. I chg oil at 5k (w/filter chg at 3k). The oil filter sits near the right top of the block and no oil is lost when changing the filter element. I average 25mpg (city/hwy) overall. Highway driving at 65-70mph gets me 30mpg. IMHO the ecotec is the best 4 cyl GM has ever made.

Good/bad car

I bought this car in 2006 with 30k miles. I had very bad credit at the time, and totally overpaid for this car. The Bad: The things Ive had to replace on this car is the front breaks, tires, heater setting plate, and the module box, so about $2,000 in cost. The carpet it cut too short on both passenger/drivers side but I was able to super glue them down. Sometimes if it rains A LOT then I have a leak on the passenger side. The Good: Overall, Ive had this car for 5 years and it still pretty much runs the same as when I bought it. I don't drive that much daily (only about 10 miles) but when I do have to take a long trip it gets great millage and is a comfortable ride.

Car Stinks

This car stinks! We have owned this car about 9 months and it has been a nightmare. It has been at the dealership for repairs about 13 times in 9 months. The intermediate shaft has been replaced or repaired 4 times. The gas mileage stinks. We are lucky to get 15-17 MPG. The calipers, rotors and pads had to be replaced at 10,000 miles. The sunvisor clip has broken several times. On trips the car is very comfortable and roomy but overall I would not reccommend it to anyone.

My Cladsic

It used to run good but I have been having so many electrical problems. My back lights do not work. The lights on the inside dash do not work. This car cannot be driven at night. Fuses burn out fast carpet bunches up in front. I will have to spend a fortune if I want to keep it because no one will offer a good price for trade plus I have bought two fuel pumps. Wish I new about car before I bought it.
