1996 Chevy 4x4 1500 EXT Cab
I've had my Chevy for a little bit over a year now and it hasn't let me down yet and sure doesn't show no signs of stopping. With 122,000k the truck still runs great and the engine still good as new.
Awesome truck
This is by far the best truck i've ever owned. I just bought a new 2500HD 4x4 and hope it lives up to the quality, power, and reliability this truck has. I can't say enough about it. Excellent truck.
Trouble free
Since purchasing this truck a year ago (143,000 miles) the only repairs I've made were the water pump and brake rotors. I've put this truck through its paces and it keeps on going. I couldn't ask for much more. GM hit the mark with this truck, the z-71 package and 5.7 hauls 5th wheel trailer without hesitation and has handled everything i've thrown at it. Overall a great truck with many more miles to come.
K1500 Silverado
Until 115,000 miles the only problem I had with this vehicle is an alternator going bad, and a problem with the push- buttom FWD. Otherwise it has been a great truck. I have had 2010 lbs of sand in the bed of this 1/2 ton (500 lbs)truck, I have towed 17,000 lb city buses up hills from 1/2 way up the hill and from a dead stop, and have frequently towed a 7700 lb boat(23ft.) with it. Bottom line, I cannot complain!
Drove for last 4 years
i originally purchased this truck for the gas mileage (V6) and to haul my dirt bike in. Installed a K&N filter and MSD for better mileage. Ride is good. Controls and comfort are good. In the last 50K miles had to replace alternator ($100), water pump(~$50), fuel pump($400), ignition module ($500) and the air conditioning compressor ($500). Also all exterior handles. total mileage 96K. Wipers sometimes works, sometimes not. Purchased standard transmission, auto transmission fails after every 70K miles (known several people who have auto trans problems). Will most likely purchase Chevy van as next vehicle, have had worse luck with Ford and Dodge.
