Last time with GM - 2003 Chevy Blazer
I have purchased GM vehicles for the past 20+ years. My last new purchase was a 2003 Blazer the vehicle has been a lemon from day 1. I have always taken care of my vehicles and done the recommended maintenance. Here's a list of some of the problems I've had with this car: Trans line leaks @3000 miles, car shuts off for no reason @ less than 20,000 miles, power windows work intermittently, small side rear window leaks during rain, making seatbelts wet, fuel gauge problems, wipers don't park, wheel bearings needing replacing @ 40,000miles, rear brakes seized up, U-joints needed replacing @ 70,000 miles, Rear differential seal blew-out @ 100,000 miles, Trans died @ 150,000 miles. GM sucks!
Early Disappointment
I picked up the truck and drove 1300 miles to DC. The truck drove very nicely on the highway and had no problems accelerating at any time. The drivers side headlight was way out of alignment (pointing at the sky) and a spare bolt was found near the front windshield wiper. Twice during the drive, when the vehicle was placed into reverse, the whole truck felt like it backed into something. I think it's a transmission problem, but it's pretty major. An issue I am waiting to take to the dealer for service. The truck drives and handles very well. Pleasure to drive. Just a little hungry for fuel but way better than my old 1994 blazer. same engine

Stay Away
This vehicle looks great inside and out but doesn't perform as great. I have had leaking windows in both quarter panel windows and the windshield above the rear view mirror. Supposedly they fixed it but the day after I took it home it was leaking again. It's still under warranty but being in the shop twice in one week is very inconvenient. Gas mileage is bad and ball joints are bad already after a year. This vehicle is overpriced
blazer known reliability
Fuond to be verry reliable.Moderate performance from the 4.3 but can easily be tweeked ap a bit with K&N intake fuel injection add ons that wont void warrenty.
Best suv ever
I've had this vehicle foe 12 years. Brought at auction for 5g. Replaced front suspension and fuel pump twice other than that no major problems. This vehicle has seen me through rough times as i remodeled my home. A real work horse. I love it even at 130000 miles still starts up no problem, and ready to go. love it love it love it

more costly to drive than you may think
Though it would be better on fuel and save me some money, as it turns out I have been putting more repair money in it than fuel money. rear hatch wiper motor first then the ignition switch, followed by a computer,2 fuel injectors, wheel bearings, brake caliper, upper and lower ball joints, and the sun roof leaks (still). The check engine light has been on now again for 2 and a half months but I am afraid to take it in. even if it is the filters the dealer replaces every time it is more money than I want to spend on this lemon that now has 46000 miles, and about $5800 in repairs in the last 3 years
Mine is a lemon
Bought new in July 2003. Has been in the shop 3 times for water leaks. Carpet was replaced. Found 9 body seam leaks. repaired found new body leak, repaired. found another leak repaired. Rained last week had a gallon of water come out of the headliner. Drivers window fell out of the track while driving and fell inside of the door. Grease fittings on steering linkage installed backwards could not grease. Has a ton of rattles and noises in the interior. Drive train? a lot of vibration, Just hoping I can get GM to give me something to replace it. I've been driving GM products for 30 years but this one is making me wonder why.
Solid truck SUV
I've owned my Blazer for just over a year and put 12,000 miles on it, no real complaints thus far. It actually rides quite nice considering the old chasis, and the cabin is very quiet on the highway. If you buy one, accept that you are buying a truck, not a Rav4 or CRV. The good news is it can handle truck-type work and moderate off-roading without a problem. I have a rare 5 speed model, my only complaint that it tends to grind 2nd until the fluid has warmed up. I've also had it leak water twice on me - I chalked it up to not closing the sunroof the first time, but if it happens again its going to the dealer.
Not too bad!!....
Having bought this four door Blazer about 8 months ago, I have been pleasantly suprized. Having vowed to never buy another GM product again after numerous, and costly repairs for an Olds. The Blazer has decent build quality, and is quite comfy inside, if not a little drab with a grey interior. I do wish it had a bit more power though. I added a K&N open air induction, with a "Tornado". It is like night and day, especially when passing that semi, uphill!!
ZR2
Alot of problems....I have been in and out of the shop for things breaking....tailights have gone out twice....Ride is very rough and gas is not the greatest...but my service dept. has been great...they get me in and out and always fix the problem the first time no questions asked and no hassles...Thank goodness they are there.
