Low mileage isn't always good
Purchased car 2 years ago, only had 36000 miles on it with all service records. Looked like new. After only 6000 miles the #5 fuel injector stuck open which flooded the cylinder with gas causing the compression ring to break. Due to low mileage I decided to have engine completely rebuilt by a very reputable machine shop. Car ran good for about another 6000 miles and started skipping on #3 cylinder. Inspection revealed valve stem had pulled out of head. In shop again and now so I'll have alot more in car than its worth. The 3.1 GM engine is a piece of junk. PERIOD

Old People Cars Are The Best!
Pros: Affordable, reliable, quite comfortable, good highway gas mileage, old school front bench seat Cons: Cheap interior bits, unimpressive 0-60 times, underbody is notorious for rusting, low speed turning is boat-like. My first car, which I still have, is a 2003 Buick Century. I bought it privately from a friend's dad who stopped driving due to his age. It barely had 40,000 miles on it, and at the time, was in great cosmetic shape. The car is VERY comfortable, with soft, cushy seats and a floaty suspension that handles bumps very well, typical of a Buick. Gas mileage is surprisingly good, I can get over 30 mpg on the highway, not as good in the city though. For the most part it has been trouble free, the biggest fix being a head gasket. Otherwise, repairs have been infrequent and things that would go out on any old car (Wiring, etc.) Other than steering that feels like a truck at parking lot speeds, it handles reasonably well. It's also quite good in the snow, a huge benefit in Michigan. Another cool bonus is that it technically is a six-seater with the bench seat (Though I wouldn't recommend six. I tried it). It's my backup car now, the car I drive when I don't want to get my Impala dirty. It's starting to rust underneath now, which appears to be one of this car's ultimate weaknesses. I'll probably sell it later on this year for something a little newer and sportier, but during these past six years and over 100,000 miles it has overall been a very good car. The only thing that prevents me from giving this car 5 stars is the lack of features (It's pretty barebones. It doesn't even have a tachometer, which other Buicks from this era have)

Still loving it
I bought this car new in 12/02 and it has been great. A few bumps in the beginning repairwise but it was covered under warranty. I have not had any problem in the past 5 years. I drive 100 miles RT for work and it is a great ride. Good gas mileage (33 mph hwy) and dependable.
